I FINALLY got it right!
I dont even want to contemplate the amount of money Ive spent in the last 20 years trying to get my wash and gos to cooperate! I could never find something that had everything I was looking for...moisturizing with hold & taming the frizziness without making it stringy or hard.
Recently I had been looking for something moisturizing for my 20 month old DD and decided to make her a whipped avocado butter. So after making hers...I added a few more things and made some for myself. I decided to try it on my wash and go. The first time it was a little puffy so the next time I decided to seal it with a mixture I have of several oils....and it was love at first sight!!! I FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT!!!
My hair is shiny without being hard and moisturized without being stringy!
(any curly girl wash and goers out there will know what Im talking about!)
The best part is...its all healthy no drying chemicals and BONUS my new growth is soft and equally moisturized without having to add another step!
Here is the recipe:
Avocado butter
Shea oil
Avocado oil
EEVO
EVCO
Grape Seed oil
Wheat Germ oil
DL Panthenol
Silk Amino acid
Rosemary eo
Ylang Ylang eo
It came out a little watery so I added shea butter to thicken it up...I love it!!!
I plan on PSing this winter (which I have never intentionally done...I wear my hair out everyday) and plan on using this butter to keep my hair soft and moisturized. HIP LENGTH IM COMING FOR YOU!!!
Much thanks to @SummerSolstice for introducing me to my new baby daddy avocado butter and @MrsJaiDiva for introducing me to shea oil.
OH and it keeps DDs curls nicely also. No more store bought moisturizers for us!
ETA: Excuse my ends...they arent as bad as they look...that is the last of my straight relaxed hair so they look a lot thinner than the rest of my hair. Im dusting them a little bit at a time...cant wait till it grows out!
