LOL, it's been a while since I did the check; let alone have it photographed!!!!!! Wonder when it'll simply BE that length without pulling? Hmmm, from what I overstand, that would be what . . . about another six years or so? I'd be pushing 60
:look: by then. :cry2:, I want it ummmm, before 55 :lachen:.

Yes it would probably take 6 years for your hair to be that length while shrunken

I love the jet black shininess of your hair

Nothing wrong with having it at 55. By age 60 most black women have burnt their hair out to the point of near or complete baldness and sporting short plastic wigs. You, instead, will be unique with long , healthy hair and weave checked. Seriously, tho, you will be a good role model for the younger generation.

Yes, I've seen so much hair and scalp damage on black women in their 50s+. It was rare to see a healthy hair on hair on middle aged when I used to frequent the shops.

SimpleLiving - I love your hair!

You have beautiful hair!

One of the reasons I'm shooting for beyond-waist-length is so I can rock curls AND have length. I feel you!

i dont think i've ever seen you on the board before, but i love your hair! i dont care for shrinkage either, but i do like how you can surprise people when you do a length check every once in a while!

SimpleLiving - beautiful curls! and I hear ya on the shrinkage. I'm "w"Hip straightened but APL curly! I don't know about you but the longer I wear my hair curly between washes, the curlier it gets. When it starts grazing my shoulder, I know it's time to wash.

I'm learning to embrace shrinkage. You get a free protective style w/o the hassle. Plus you get about 2-3 hairstyles in one. You can wear it short (fully shrunken), medium (blow out), or fully stretched (straightened). It doesn't get any better or more unique than that.

The only thing I don't like about shrinkage is I dont really notice growth right away other than that it really doesn't bother me

Girl, bye. Your hair is gorgeous!!!! Embrace the shrinkage...

Your hair is pretty but I understand what you mean about shrinkage, I want my waves to start hanging but I have to wait :(.

Beautiful hair, OP!

Shrinkage is awesome! I love how it disguises true length! LOVE LOVE LOVE shrinkage! I love how it adds to the versatility of our hair. I'd hate it my hair didn't have this facet. My coworkers with very straight hair that can't hold a curl get so bored with their hair. And when they want to wear short styles, their options are wigs or cutting the hair. I'm never bored of my hair. I can go from long to short, from coily to straight. I can do all that without wigs and without scissors. Love love love shrinkage.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:Yupp, so does Clairol, Black N Lovely, umm, Bigen, what's the other, ummm, ummm, Cream of Nature Fructis crap or other :lachen::lachen::lachen:. I'll be sooo glad when my locks are white (or silver will do). I'm dying it in a manner to make a skunk stripe (at least until my baby girl's wedding then we'll see).

Show ya right, girl. I never thought of it like that. :woot:

Awww sookie, sookie, nah I've got a serious new attitude. The hubby's kids are fascinated with our type of hair. They crack me up. Let's see where I am with this journey next year this time.

Seriously, thanks for the support gals. This place IS the business!
