Hun, I would have never thought of this idea. I mean come on people put mn in they hair, now that's weird...lol.

Lol you ladies are too much. I can't believe that going to the store and getting a fruit is less partical than going to subway....

Haha. I'm assuming they don't have a blender like me. I got it from the store once but then realized I needed one.

 Y'all are funny. I keep waiting for someone to order in bulk and start a side hustle.

But an overripe avocado is mushy and smooth naturally. No need to blend. Even just a ripened avocado can be smoothed easily with a spoon.

]A side of avocado sauce without a sandwich. I wanna do a DC tonight. :look:

On a scale from 1 to 10, how bad is my hair addiction? What would you rate yourself?

Triflin'!!! You know you shoulda got that good good from Chipotle!!:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

WTF? :lachen: :lachen: :lachen: why didn't you just go to the store and buy an avocado? To me, avocados are meant to be eaten. I can't imagine wasting my money on a good tasting food to be slathered on my head.

The last one I got from the store was hard. I don't know anything about picking avocados. Besides, I had to get some cookies for my mom and thought, "Why not?" So I got it.

At first, I  .

Then I remembered that I buy yogurt only to DC with and banana baby food when there's no baby in my house.:look:

:lachen:

Thank you for posting this! I've been wanting to try avocados in my regi..good lookin out girl :)

that is way different then going into the sandwich shop and say ok I don't wnat your sandwich I just want you to give me the sauce that go's on it. lol :lachen: but if they sell it to you that is great since you don't have a blender. I didn't know they would even do that.

Do they make avocado baby food? I've never seen it before personally.

A lot of times the store will sell you the sides of product ala carte. Sometimes the fee is worth it and sometimes it is not. All you can do is ask.

I guess the avocado tree in my backyard is good for something other than guacamole huh? :look:

Thought about this today and call me crazy but I want to know of this worked out well. I may be looking to try it this winter.

I forgot about this thread  I'll probably never live it down :look: But here's the update ...

Blairx0 - My results were average. I think the major difference from the first time I used (store bought) avocado was that I used coconut milk in the second mix (the one with the Subway avocado). I should of stuck with the original formula so I could have a more accurate comparison. However, I would NOT hesitate to use the Subway avocado again.

I'm also considering that my hair needs a good chelating because of the hard water in my area. Lately, none of my deep conditioners have been penetrating as usual and that might also be why my results were okay (NOT bad, just okay). After chelating, I think I'll be using the original mix again. If I do, I'll post another update.

Jeez a ripe avocado is easily mashed with a fork. Never in my life have I blended an avocado, not even for guac.. And I've been eating avocado for 31 years.

Buying it for a store is waaaaaaay cheaper and more practical.

Did they charge extra??

Although I love avocado I don't usually feel like having it on my sandwich, but I might start getting avocado anyway. I do homemade DTs all the time so it's actually not weird or obsessive to me at all, just smart and maybe a little lazy lol.

ETA: oh you didn't get a sandwich :look:

Haha j/k, but I will look into how much extra avocado is next time I go to Subway.

What do you all put on your avocado? or do you just eat it alone. Does anyone put salt?

By the way, the question in the OP was kind of rhetorical. I don't care if y'all think I'm crazy  As stated before, the first avocado I bought was from the store and was very hard to mash. I'm not sure if I just picked out a bad one or not. I alleviated the problem by purchasing one I knew would already be mashed up. :)

Avocados should be firm but not hard, they are easy to smash and scoop out of the skin with a spoon. You probably picked up one that wasn't ripe yet. You should try again. Just make sure you pick one that is firm but has some give. Actually, since you are just using it on your hair, you could pick one that is very ripe and it wouldn't matter so get one that is soft to the touch.

I don't think you are crazy. I thought it was a good idea. If you tried it and it worked for you then I don't see the problem. It's all about what works for you.

Op...uhmmm yuck:-) subway guacamole is suspiciously slimy. Easier to buy an overipe avocado and mash. My hair addiction is bout a 5-7...how many women maintain membership to a hair board for YEARS?
