How many times have u purchased a product, that didn't work for you, and you had no idea what to do with it? Instead of it collecting dust or throwing money away, let's find new uses!

All you have to do is name the product and what new purpose you have found for it. Hopefully this thread will be helpful to some who are trying to get rid of products.

I'll start:

HQS white tea and lemon 5 day moisture: excellent moisturizer for my dry heels and elbows!

Ready, set, go!

Hmm...

Coconut oil works great for me as a pre-shampoo treatment rather then on dry/wet hair. It's weird because I liked it a lot at first but I find it works best for me know as a pre-shampoo treatment or when I am giving my hair a relaxer/color retouch...I'll rub it on the parts of my hair that I don't want chemically processed.

I also like it on dry rough skin.

I also use Ion Jojoba Flat iron cream for rollersets and get good results. Technically it's supposed to be used with a blow dryer and flat iron but it makes my roller-sets shiny and soft.

CJ Argan & Olive Oil Daily Hair Conditioner- I added aloe vera gel to it and use it as a shaving cream

CJ Gentle Cleansing Shampoo- I used it up as a handsoap.

Bask Cacao Bark DC Tx- I added honey, banana puree, and brazil nut butter to it and used it as a pre poo treatment

Coconut oil: originally bought it to style dry hair (twistouts etc) and to mix w/products. It left my hair hard n crunchy. However, I found it is an excellent pre-poo when placed on wet or damp hair. Its also good to detangle with as long as hair is wet or dampened w/water. You can feel it add strength, and it prevents drying/stripping during the wash process

I use shampoo that I did not like as a hand liquid soap when I wash my hands.

I wash my hands a lot and it gets rid of it much faster yet I'm not wasting my money.

Shampoos that are too harsh for my hair get used as a laundry pre-treatment on stains and ring around the collar.

Kinky Curly Knot Today - when used according to directions, on my WET relaxed hair, did absolutely nothing but dried to a crunchy mess. Did not even detangle it...:perplexed

But on DRY relaxed hair....mmmmm.....then I seal with oil and baggy. Now THAT'S some soft and moisturized tresses right there!!

I found some raw shea butter under the sink. I had forgotten all about it. I used to use it for my skin but I prefer Eucerin. I might add some olive oil to it and use it to help keep my hair stretched longer after washing.

I have a buttload of leave-ins that I'm generally unimpressed with and have large quantities of i.e. The Detangler, :nono:. So I get a spray bottle, fill it with 2/3 distilled water and 1/3 of whatever leave in, then I add in a squirt of my emu oil, jojoba oil and EVCO mixture. I shake up everything in the bottle and use it as my nightly moisturizer, it works well and is saving me form having to buy more products and using up products that would otherwise go to waste :yep:.

I got Rid of all my Shampoos (except neutralizing & clarifying ones) and used them to Wash out my Satin Caps, Wig Caps & Du-Rags.

Giovanni's DLI, it was too heavy for my hair so I now mix it with water and use it as a spritz to revive my hair, I loved it so much I now buy the litter bottle.

FOTE Aloe Vera gel, didn't like the viscosity so now I mix some in with my Flaxseed gel and it works well with it.

I'm about to to start using the Shea Moisture Yucca and Boabob RO and DC as a lotion because nothing has made it work well with my hair :ohwell:

I found some old relaxer under the cupboard and I used it as drain cleaner. It worked great. Yet another reason for me never to use that scheisse again!

-Shampoos: body wash, wash/soak head rags or given to dh
-Oils: used on my skin directly, to soak my cuticles/nails or for whipping shea butter
-Avj: use it on my face and on cuts, scrapes, wounds
-Conditioners: verdict still out; need to find a repurpose

Sucky Conditioners became shaving cream for me. :giggle: They can also go to the SO for cowashing.

Chagrin Valley shampoo bars were absolutely horrible on my hair. I use them as body soap now Tried a Bobeam Cheris Hibiscus shampoo bar which did nothing for my hair. Now I use it as a moisterizing facial cleanser and can't do without it! I have mango butter that didn't work for my hair but didn't want to waste it so I mix with a little avg and it makes a great face and body moisterizer. I bought tea trea oil that I rarely use. I read somewhere that it helps to clear acne so whenver I have a flare up and put a dam on at night. By the morning, there is a significant difference. Irritation is gone and the bump is minimal.

I need to start doing that. Great tip

Yup. I used conditioners as shave cream also.

And I use shampoos I don't like to clean out my combs/brushes (including makeup brushes) and as "woolite" for hand-washables.

Any sort of hair pomade that I'm not using a lot I rub into my elbows and knees (I use all natural products).

I was thinking about this yesterday. ORS Hair Lotion sucks. I've given it enough tries and I have this huge bottle left. I'm about to make it body lotion because that's all it good for.

Maaaaan, I've go so much of that piling up under my sink because I use the relaxer. I hate it on my hair too. I need to do something with it...

Aussie Moist Conditioner, I use it to dilute other conditioners that are WAY too heavy like Affirm Positive Link. It's pretty underwhelming as a conditioner by itself. I also use it to shave or as a whole body rinse off moisturizer in the shower if I know I'm going to be too lazy to put on lotion after. It smells great.

Shampoos - body wash/hand soap depending on if it is natural/"unnatural"
Butters/moisturizers - body butter/lotion
Conditioners - shaving gel/wash out henna
Coconut oil - pan fry fish/shell fish :look:

I mix coconut oil and aloe vera gel to make the best after shower body lotion in the world! I also use coconut oil to seal my hair and in my dc's. Whipped shea butter does wonders for my heels.:drunk:

+1

Extra Virgin Olive Oil -- pan fry cod fish cakes :lick:

I had some Darcy's cremes (for shame) that I hated and can't figure out how to use - use them on my legs/heels. Same with Oyin's burnt sugar pomade - loved it on my skin.
