Back in tha day, if I had seen you at the Hyatt, I would have said " You mixed? :drunk: or had a silent thought of "She's mixed" :spinning: so that I could have an excuse for my nl mess.

I bet the sista's really giving you the side eye :yep:
My Friend Nahh, not really because I blended right on in! Buuut, I did have a little shoulder length swang going on though lol

Awesome hair but um just so I don't feel bad LOL
this is 4 years with zero setbacks right???????
BlkOnyx488

I've had two setbacks. One in December 2009 with some self-installed braids. My hair tangled awfully, and I had to cut a lot of them out. The second was last month. I used a stupid blowdryer from walmart with a comb attachment and it ripped my hair. I had to cut two inches. They weren't major setbacks but nevertheless I count them as such.

Don't feel bad! I'm sure you're doing wonderfully in your journey. How long have you been on your HHJ?

Question how often do you wash and handle ya hair?
An_gell
Normally once a week I wash, condition, and style. However, since I've been wearing the bun it's been a whole month without anything. I'm thinking about revamping my regimen to every two weeks wash and style.

I'm actually sitting with deep conditioner on my head right now lol

One of my hair idols!!! Awesome pics MissAlinaRose (especially the baby photo!)

My hair wants to look like yours when it grows up! Perhaps at the end of the year. :D

LOL MissAlinaRose Its been almost 6 years for me though! Autoimmune disease and hair color are no fun. *pouts*

But I'm on the positive path now and have my eye on the prize. :) And BTW, my cousin stalks your blog. She is believer that our hair can grow now. Thanks for inspiring us with information and styling options. :love2:

NappyNelle Hang in there pretty lady! Everything starts with positive thinking and you my dear are going to see all of your hard work come to fruition in every area of your life! Blessings to you hon, and I sincerely appreciate your kindness.

You and your hair are beautiful!!! You'll defiantly make full WL this year! Is that your ultimate goal?

Yes it is! I've never desired to have super long hair. I remember when my grandmother had classic length and because she is under 5ft it looked like it swallowed her up lol. I don't want that.

Your hair is BEAUTIFUL!! What am I doing wrong?? :look: I need to step my hair game up.
I'm sure you got it going on Chameleonchick!

Ok, um.... is it just me, or did this thread depress anyone else? I'm 3.5 years natural, started with NL, and am still nowhere near your length! :cry2::cry:

ETA: Now, I'm motivated to PS more and get back to eating healthy! So, thanks for posting!

Your hair is gorgeous! You are making great progress! I do also preserve a style if I think I can pull it off, I just need a break from hair sometimes and don't want to do anything at all.

It was the first time I actually did it (kept a bun in for 5 weeks before washing) and I will admit, I actually enjoyed the break from my weekly washes/styling routine.

Your hair is gorgeous!!! Did you blow it slightly?
Garner No, I had it straight for about 5 weeks. As you can probably tell it was the last day of those 5 weeks so the reversion process had already began to take place.
