I was wondering if a thread like this was gonna pop up sooner or later!

Age: 21
Regimen:
Wash every 3-4 days with whatever shampoo I have lying around. Right now it's Suave shea butter and almond.
DC with ORS hair mayo 2x a month
Flat iron 1x a week
Oil hair with coconut or argan oil when needed

I'm relaxed, 13 weeks post. My next relaxer isn't until May 7th, 24 weeks. Overall, my goal is hip length, and right now (I feel like) I'm stuck at grazing APL, and trying not to be too impatient:drunk:.

My biggest problem with taking care of my hair is time and money. When I get some time, all I want to do is sleep. When I get some money, I buy food or books. I havent bought anything new in weeks, and the PJ in me is growing more and more neurotic. I'm...I'm kinda scared.

that last part of your post made me LOL
for people who have no money we are really bad about PJism

Age: 17 (18 in July)
Current length: CBL
Long term goal length: in between WL and HL.
Regimen: wash 2x week. Once with sulfates. ORS hair mayo 1x week. Moisturising DC 2x week. Straightem 1x month. Bun or bantu knot rest. Moisturise, and seal with sunflower oil.

POOR. plus in the UK where only awful products are cheap. I would love affirm relaxer but can't afford.

Starting uni in Sept. Scary.

I think you should look at your lack of funds as a blessing :) now you are forced to stretch your relaxers :yep:

Oooo...good idea OP!

I'm 22, will be 23 in March. I honestly don't know what the heck is going on with my hair right now so I can't say that I have an actual regimen anymore. However I do try to DC weekly with One N Only Hydrating Mask. Although money isnt actually tight, I make it tight from my nail polish addiction and my silly bucket of a car. And my French fry addiction *sadface*

Sent from my iPhone using LHCF

I use to have a clothes addiction, now I have 27 pairs of jeans and a new addition (hair products) now that i think about it... :realitycheck: who needs 27 pairs of jeans

I'll be 22 in exactly 2 weeks! :yay:  :yay: :rocker: :band: Can you tell I'm excited?
From my parents I have requested that they buy out Sally's Beauty Supply store

Regimen: I wash my hair sometimes when I feel like it
In my mind, I do twist outs a lot.....but in reality I wear a lot of puffs because I'm lazy lol
In my mind, I DC every week......but in reality it may be done every 3-4 weeks. I use plastic bags from the grocery store and random creams that I find around my room to DC because I am poor and have a lot of parking tickets

 And that's about it. However, I do treat myself to new hair products sometimes :)

ETA: ohhh! My goal length is how ever long it will manage to grow! lol

parking tickets? lol you still don't know which is handicapped? jkjk
my birthday is coming up soon and I am also reccomending my parents buy me enough hair products to fill a small Walmart. Especially since I'll be staying with my uncle, i need all the products I can get or I will be stuck using head n shoulders 2 n 1 for a year lol

omg at first i thought those were pics of your hair i was about to be like SSSAAAYYY WHAAAAAT?!!!

but yes youngins represeeent!lol im 19 and a sophmore in college i fortunately do not have the same money issues as yall cause i commute but sometimes i wish i did so i knew how the real hard knock life of a college student is lol

lol thats how I feel. My grandparents and parents spoil me

lol glad someone understands the struggle

I'm also a cash strapped 22 year old. Whenever someone posts about a new product, a whole bunch of members reply with "I can't wait to go buy it! I'm going to CVS tonight!!!!!" And I'm just like... ya'll have fun with that lol. I put myself on a NO BUY challenge until June because I just realized how many products I collected in college and it really made my head spin.

I do have a few wigs, currently looking to buy a straight one that doesn't look wiggy. My regi is simple, and I think I'm becoming addicted to the ease and convenience of wigs. Luckily there is a BSS in ATL that has BOGO wigs often lol!!!

lol i just go and drool over the products on their web site

I like this thread!

Age: Early 20's (But for how much longer? LOL)
Regimen: Umm...what? LOL, no I keep it simple, wash and condition once a week, either twist it up or throw a wig on...I will DC as necessary, if not? Eh.

I definitely feel at a disadvantage because I am a young professional/student and I can't seem to afford all of the "new hotness" but I have grown my hair on a shoe-string budget before, so I know I can again.

My ultimate goal is HL, I am natural now but once I reach APL (or rather an inch or two past APL), I will be texlaxing and trimming, because I'm just not enjoying my hair anymore...I can be honest with myself about it

Age: 20! I have been lurking on and off since 18, until I finally decided to pay up and become a regular at 19.

Regimen: At this point of my journey, it is extremely simple. I just shampoo/deep condition every 1 to 2 weeks, and co-wash as needed in between. In the summer, I'm a little more elaborate/creative because I have more time on my hands due to school being out.

Current Length: BSL on stretched transitioning hair

Goal: natural MBL unstretched

Whatever money I have is spent on skin care products, because I'm on a mission to be acne free by this summer. Therefore I don't really splurge on hair stuff.
Age: 18
Length: TWA, just did my 3rd big chop a couple of weeks ago. :look:
Goal Length: As long as it can grow! Lol I really don't know, I think BSL would be fine. But if I can grow and maintain longer than that, that'd be nice too. :yep:
Regimen:
Shampoo every week (sometimes every other week depending..) with some liquid black soap and Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Shampoo
DC with Millcreek Botanicals Aloe Vera Conditioner or Millcreek Botanicals Jojoba Conditioner
Condition with Giovanni Smooth as Silk or Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Conditioner
Giovanni Direct as my leave-in/daily moisturizer
Moisturize daily and seal with almond oil, oil scalp and hairline with castor oil daily
(:

OP great thread. Sorry I can't participate because I am too old, but I am on a budget so I will be stalking your thread.

Age: 19
Regimen:
Wash every 1-2 weeks with Alberto Balsam Shampoo
DC with ORS Replenishing Conditioner
Seal with Castor Oil
Style in big twists and pin up/bun

Spritz during week with mix of water, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, CHI keratin mist, vanilla EO.

All cheap, and works for me as a busy medic. :)

Currently APL on bottom layers, aiming for full APL first, then onto waist length :)

age:19 turn 20 on sunday (I've been lurking on lhcf since i was 16)

Heyyyyy my birthday is on Sunday tooo :drunk:

Age: 20 (21 on Sunday yeaa boii:fat:) lol
Regimen: HOT 2x a month with Hot six oil, Wash with Neutrogena 3x moisture shampoo and deep condition (with various conditioners) every weekend, mousturize N seal (with coconut oil) 2x a day, clarify once a month, sulfur treatment 1x a week with M-T-G, relax every 14-18 weeks, annnd take my vits when I remember.
Length: somewhere in the CBL - APL limbo
Goal: WL but I'm happy with any length beyong BSL

I am currently 13 weeks post, getting my next relaxer probably during the 2 week of march. I am apart of PJ anonymous, i just can't resist lol. the main thing i've been buying lately are wigs, and conditioners, and oils... and im running out of vitamins:shopping:... as you can see i need to work on my issues lol.

My biggest issue right now is i have NO IDEA what to do with my hair for my birthday this weekend. :nervous2:

My first post!!!

Age: 19, 20 in a few months

Regimen:
Pre-poo every Saturday with CD Lisa's Hair Elixir
Wash every Sunday with: Pantene Breakage to Strength or Neutrogena T-Sal (alternating), rosemary tea rinse then DC with Crece Pelo
Rollerset with NTM leave-in and Pantene Relaxed & Natural wrap and set spray

Goal Length: BSL short term, however long I can get it long term. I'm currently full APL, with the tip of my 'V' grazing BSL now.

lol Is it obvious that I've been lurking for a while with my generous use of acronyms?

Woohoo! :bouncy:

Age: 21 (end of this past dec )
Regimen:
-Wash every week with some shampoo. I'll prepoo with coconut oil if I'm not lazy. It really makes a difference!!
-DC at least once a week. 2x when I have time like during school breaks. Probably use whatevers around and slap some oil in it. I detangle immediately after I put it on. I'll dc overnight because, yet again, I'm lazy
-Rinse out the dc and acv rinse because my hair is as porous as spongebob
-Moisturize with a leave in when it's damp and seal with an oil/butter
-Put in 2 braids at night, bun in the morning. Re-moisturize and seal throughout the week if I feel like it.

That's it. Sounds like much but it really isn't. I'm lazy...and I type too much detail . I reached mbl recently but it doesn't really look like mbl unless I straighten it so I'd like my curly length to be bsl-mbl maybe.

@growbaby When I was full SL (a few years ago until i went weave crazy) pin curls were a go to style for me whenever I wanted to be cute lol. Even 13 weeks post, if I flat-ironed and then styled the pincurls overnight, I would always get nice results. Best way for me was to pin it down immediately after i flatironed that particular section

I see the lurkers are coming out! Yay!

sunkissedskin I use to try everything in the book but then one day (when I was on my Indian products fetish) I found out about these two powders neem and amla ( I use amla in my hair also Love it! ) Neem is used to help acne and clear up the scaring and so far its working for me, and at like $2-3 a box its a god send! And the fact that if you wanted you could make it into a hair mask as well. I just incorporate it into my face routine and once or twice a week i use it as a mask instead of using my normal face washer :) let me know if your interested and I can give you some websites to buy it from if you don't have any Indian stores near you
