Lack of $$$ is a biggie for me!

Age: early 20's ;-)
Regimen: On the most basic level...Cowash at least once a week with Aussie 3Min Deep. Shampoo with Dr. Bronners once/twice a month. Regular leave-in: Giovanni Direct. Seal with grapeseed oil. (But right now I'm in yarn braids, so I just wet and moisturize everyday and oil my scalp with castor oil)

Goal length is APL unstretched.

Hiya!
Aww you're a baby!
Lmao. I'm 21. . . . . :look:
Goal length is waistlength. Maybe. HL.
Right now I'm myb an inch from what I consider MBL. Others would say I've been there.... But from there then 2 inches til WL!

Regimen: Cowash with cheapie conditioners (suave, aussie) seal with olive oil and bun.
Clarify monthly.
Dc... uhhh... whenever. With whatever I feel like using at the moment.
Protein... an occasional Mayo/Egg treat. I'm trying to get the elasticity up in my hair, so I've laid off of that momentarily, while attempting to remind myself to DC.

I partially have this regimen because it works for my hair...
and partially because I'm a broke college student.
Life.

Cute thread tho! :yep:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Sometimes I feel that because I'm younger and because I do not have as much money as some other members that I cant enjoy all the expensive products, tools and hair care services as much as I would like. I have hair care on a budget.

Age: 22
Regimen:
Co-wash 3-4x a week with Organix condish
Finger Detangle everytime I co-wash
Fully Detangle with tangle teezer once every 2 weeks
I do mainly WnGs
I moisturize with Shea Moisture Deep Moisture Masque
Seal with castor oil

Every now and again I PS with wigs just to change it up and keep it protected.

My goal is all natural U-shaped WL.

This is cute.

Age: 19; 20 in June (I feel weird exposing my age) :look:
Regimen: Wash, Condition, Blow-dry (I wash with Motions Neutralizing Shampoo, condition with whatever is in my stash, and blow-dry on naked hair)
Current Length: MBL
Goal Length: TBL (Used to be WL, I'll probably be satisfied with a length in between though) :yep:

LOL right now money is a minimal issue but I'm moving out at the end of this school year so....my mommy won't be buying everything for me anymore lol. Time to get a job!

Your turn!

YAY for representing us lol.

Age: 19!!!! (junior in college tho)
Regimen: Pre-poo with grapeseed and jojoba oil. Wash every Saturday with CoN shampoo. Follow with Aphogee 2 minute Keratin treatment. Deep Condition (I don't have a set go-to one yet, I've been experimenting. So If you got some good ones, recommend please!)
Rinse and follow with chi silk infusion and NTM leave in.
I dry a variety of ways. I just got a relaxer, so right now I do a weird mixture of a rollerset and wet wrap lol. Further down the stretch I blowdry my hair, but I do not flat iron it except for the very top of my hair.
Moisturize every night with Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1. I don't seal tho. If I feel the need to, I will apply the TINIEST amount of grapeseed oil to me ends.

I just got my hair all cut, so I'm starting at neck length. My ultimate goal is APL, my goal for this year is SL.

Money is a huuuuuge problem. I don't have much because since I'm focusing on school, I only have the tiniest part time job that really only covers gas and maybe a few other things. So I don't have money to buy some of the pricey things ladies might recommend on here :( I do my best though. I'm trying to save up to buy some Nioxin vitamins

Age: early 20's

Goal Length: MBL currently SL

I'm in the military part time and in cosmetology school so money isn't really the issue. My real issue is finding the time to really take care of my hair!!

Reggie: I'm a product junkie so whatever I can find I use. Seriously I have an addiction problem! I'm running out of space to put all my hair products :look:

Thanks for starting this thread OP!

Do you cut your hair into a U?
My hair grows in a V and while I'm kinda obsessed with blunt ends Im like ugh the length lol. Speaking of length I need to change my picture lol

Cute thread OP. I can definitely attest to trying to make the :dollar: work to the best of my ability to get those "golden products". I had to tell myself to stop and slow down.

Right now my regimen is pretty simple just co-washing once a week with Aussie/Giovanni or suave, moisturize with Giovanni leave in/aloe vera gel, seal with whatever oil i find first and relax for the week.

By the way I'm 24 & my goal length is an "easy" MBL :spinning:

I feel so weird this might be my first post ...hmmm:look:

Age: 20
Regimen:
I am currently in Senegal studying abroad. So my hair in braids. If any one has any advice on taking care of hair abroad please send it my way!

Current Regimen: washing once a week in braids, sealing with olive oil , mositurizing daily!!

AH I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! Youngheads represent on LHCF

Age: 21 (been on the board since I was 19, though. Wow, I feel young and old at the same time...wacky.)

Regimen:
I wash Sundays and Wednesdays (or really, any day and 3-4 days after that day haha)
Sunday wash is a co-wash and DC, then I put AG Fast Food leave-in, pu in 8-10 twists and bantu-knot it up!

Wednesday I co-wash and bantu-knot. If you can't tell, bk's are my go-to. Once they're dry I put hair in a curly bun

Seal with Lisa's Hair Elixer (Carol's Daughter) or Hair Balm (Carol's Daughter)

Moisturize with Elasta QP Mango Butter. my truth.

Current length: APL

Goal length: Full BSL by August/ BSL naturally (unstraightened)

Long-term goal: MBL

sb0409 When I was abroad almost 2 years ago, I think I was still relaxed (not yet transitioning either), so my hair was a little different. I went to the salon twice (in Spain) and even got some color :-)..But since you have braids, it should be super easy for you!

My friend has her hair in braids right now and she spritzs (:look: however you spell it) her scalp and braids with a conditioner water mix daily and then washes i guess when she feels like it, she's regimenless lol. Also if you can find any vitamins that would also help HTH

I was wondering if a thread like this was gonna pop up sooner or later!

Age: 21
Regimen:
Wash every 3-4 days with whatever shampoo I have lying around. Right now it's Suave shea butter and almond.
DC with ORS hair mayo 2x a month
Flat iron 1x a week
Oil hair with coconut or argan oil when needed

I'm relaxed, 13 weeks post. My next relaxer isn't until May 7th, 24 weeks. Overall, my goal is hip length, and right now (I feel like) I'm stuck at grazing APL, and trying not to be too impatient:drunk:.

My biggest problem with taking care of my hair is time and money. When I get some time, all I want to do is sleep. When I get some money, I buy food or books. I havent bought anything new in weeks, and the PJ in me is growing more and more neurotic. I'm...I'm kinda scared.

Do you cut your hair into a U?

I would say my hair grows into a kind of a natural U, but once I get to WL I'm going to cut back up to MBL with a U-shape and then grow back out to WL and maintain there. I LOVE the way U-shaped hair looks

Ooo i like this thread, got me out of lurking...

Age:21
hair status: natural apl stretched (really need to update my siggy)
goal:wl stretched
regimen: prepoo, wash, dc, either rollerset, braids or twists, my hair like protein, too many products to mention :nono: all once a week. moisturise and seal daily, only detangle on wash days exception if midweek hair is really shrunken

My issues are I'm a pj despite being in so much student debt, really want a proper shower and filter but can't because I live at home and my mum thinks i spend too much time on my hair and that i'm making the water bill high by washing my hair once a week!

lol glad someone understands the struggle

I'm also a cash strapped 22 year old. Whenever someone posts about a new product, a whole bunch of members reply with "I can't wait to go buy it! I'm going to CVS tonight!!!!!" And I'm just like... ya'll have fun with that lol. I put myself on a NO BUY challenge until June because I just realized how many products I collected in college and it really made my head spin.

I do have a few wigs, currently looking to buy a straight one that doesn't look wiggy. My regi is simple, and I think I'm becoming addicted to the ease and convenience of wigs. Luckily there is a BSS in ATL that has BOGO wigs often lol!!!

Age - 18 (19 in March)

Regimen:
-Shampoo once a week - Clarify once a month
-Deep Condition weekly, rotate between moisture and protein, add honey, coconut, cinnamon, coconut cream, olive oil, and/or eggs.
-Co-Wash - 3-4 days after deep conditioning
Moisturize- Elasta QP Olive Oil & mango Butter seal with Coconut Castor Oil
Trim- Every two months(recovering from heat damage), S&D frequently
Sleep with a satin scarf at night or just wear it around the house
Flat iron once a month if at all.

Wearing buns as a protective style. Sometimes flat twists.

Current Length- Shoulder length in front, nl in back (uneven hair, I know)
Short Term Goal - APL
Long Term Goal- BSL

Great thread, OP!

I'll be 22 in exactly 2 weeks! :yay:  :yay: :rocker: :band: Can you tell I'm excited?
From my parents I have requested that they buy out Sally's Beauty Supply store

Regimen: I wash my hair sometimes when I feel like it
In my mind, I do twist outs a lot.....but in reality I wear a lot of puffs because I'm lazy lol
In my mind, I DC every week......but in reality it may be done every 3-4 weeks. I use plastic bags from the grocery store and random creams that I find around my room to DC because I am poor and have a lot of parking tickets

 And that's about it. However, I do treat myself to new hair products sometimes :)

ETA: ohhh! My goal length is how ever long it will manage to grow! lol

Oooo...good idea OP!

I'm 22, will be 23 in March. I honestly don't know what the heck is going on with my hair right now so I can't say that I have an actual regimen anymore. However I do try to DC weekly with One N Only Hydrating Mask. Although money isnt actually tight, I make it tight from my nail polish addiction and my silly bucket of a car. And my French fry addiction *sadface*

Sent from my iPhone using LHCF

Awww this is a cute thread OP :)
Age: (A real woman isn't supposed to tell but...) I'm 23
Current Length: Shoulder (thanks to a SHS!)
Current Regimen:
Wash 1x a Week with 'poo mix: Which consists of Sally's knockoff version of Nioxin, Dollar general brand dandruff shampoo, and water :)

DC 2x's a week: DC consists of coconut oil, shea butter, suave almond and shea butter something something..(:look:), Castor Oil (not that expensive a** JBCO either!), and a squirt of Hello Hydration

Moisturize and Seal Daily: Cantu Shea Butter (moisturizer), Castor Oil/Hot 6 oil/Coconut oil Mix (sealant)

My protective styles are where the most money comes in....I usually wear wigs but next week I plan on getting a full sew in ($150.00 jst for the install!!! :wallbash:)

Luckily God has blessed me with a FT job. I also run a small graphic design business on the side and I look forward to becoming a SCAD University student again in August. We'll see how it goes from there! lol

Age: 17 (18 in July)
