Over a year or so ago I purchased the Split ender maxi kit.....it just didn't work for me....there wasn't any hair in the hair receptacle at all!:nono:...maybe my hair wasn't straight enough? i don't know. I didn't give it a chance to stick around, i returned it!:blush:

Anyway, i always see great reviews on this thing and people RAVING about it, so i decided to give it another chance...:ohwell:
i went in the split ender website and EVERYTHING was out of stock except the "Original Split ender"...:perplexed

i read the differences btw the two and found that the older one just didn't come in the nifty little caddy....so i purchased it!

well i went to use it today and the thing didn't work!!! The blades weren't rotating! And it was making this piercing whining sound!!!:nono:
At first when i heard the whining i figured bc all of my batteries weren't new. So i left my apt and went to target to get a fresh new pack of batteries. NOPE!!! still whining! "WEeeeEEEEeeeeeEEEEEEeeeeeeeRRRRRRRRRR":blush:....kinda sounded like a screaming banshee!!!!

ugh! what a waste! i really wanted to trim my hair today so i just did it the old school way....hair btw fingers, slide n snip...

i'm just so irritated with this "toy"...

Anybody else love? hate???

i heard the split ender was amazing! I was def planning on getting it, but after this, I don't know....
i'm sorry you're had all these issues tho!

I have it and used it once. If it was giving you such a problem, you may have saved yourself some valuable inches. Be grateful!
 
I love the Splitender! Some of the best money I ever spent on my hair. Literally cuts off an eighth of an inch and that's it from every strand, even the shorter layers. Sounds like you somehow got a bad one but contact them! They have excellent customer service!

I love mine and the only problem I've had was one of the clamps breaking. I think it was courtesy of one of my daughters. They fixed it for free. You can call or email and they get back with you quickly. It was money well spent. BTW, you do need to get your hair very straight. I used mine once when my hair started to revert, never again. It didn't do any damage: it just tangled a few times and slowed the process. I just used mine Dec after a slight cut with my shears. It get splits up the hair strand.
 
ughhhhh.....thanks ladies.....first time was most likely user error for sure...that why today i had my hair freshly flat ironed and ready to gooooo :yep: but this time the dang thing was just BAD! i will call them tomorrow to see if i can get it switched out...

good to hear they have amazing customer service!!!
 
That happened with my Split Ender...I was using it just fine and then suddenly, the blades wouldn't turn and it made that terrible sound. I packed it up and took it back to Ross, but I was sad about it, because it was good while it lasted.
My hair always felt softer and smoother after using it too.

I hope you get your issue resolved!
 
Are you sure it wasn't a knock off?! I would purchase from the actual sight can't get no safer than that. Yal got me wanting to purchase one. Do all yal hair come out even all around or it just cuts off 1/4inch no matter how uneven your hair is?
 
I purchased one last year due to a setback from a SHS. I love it! It leaves the hair incredibly smooth, and it gives you that extra security of keeping splits at bay since you're getting rid of splits from the length of the hairshaft
 
LILMOMMA1011 My hair comes out even. Don't ask me how but it even takes care of my irritating "V". You can see my siggy. When I cut it it wasn't even but it smoothed my hair out and you see the result. The only thing it can't do is fix a super lopsided cut I did when I was still natural. LOL
 
I had a similar problem with the 1st one that I purchased. I got it from the "as seen on tv" store, it turned out to be a knock off. I still really wanted one though so I got one as a present this past Christmas and I LOVE IT! It was one of the ones that came in the caddy and was ordered off of the official website. It costs a little more but it works well and definitely beats going to a stylist who you ask to TRIM 1/4 inch and they CUT 2 inches instead lol.

Well keep calling and write them as well because that's not right and they shouldn't get a way with it.

Anyway….they called me right now and they want to do some troubleshooting on it when I get home…..i will get home too late today so I will have to do it tomorrow on my lunch break….
He says he wants to figure out whether it’s the gears or the blade perhaps??? If it’s the blades then, he will send me some new blades……and if it’s the gears he will send me a replacement.:ohwell:

He also asked me to take this thread down….I haven’t said anything bad…..just my experiences….:perplexed
 
I love mine as well. I just used it yesterday. But my hair was pretty damage due to the whole tangle teezer fasico.

LOL!!! well he was really worried about me badmouthing him on here...well.....i'm not taking it down till that matter is resolved....even then, this thread will look good for him if i left i up....reflects how great his customer service is....DUH!:look:
