@nicole625 the standard suggestion is to do protein treatments for breakage but imo that can make the problem even worse. My hair was breaking so bad (lots and lots of little ends) it was something i got used to and was ready to accept.
In my case i was using waaay too much protein in my hair (every single product contained some kind of protein and i didn't realise). All the Aphgoee products, mayonnaise and so-called moisturisers that actually contain protein and the dreaded glycerin and it's derivitives - my hair was just getting worse - but of course i continued their use because they are 'supposed' to help with breakage.
It took me too damn long (months) to realise this and i stopped all usage of protein and used a moisturising product line (i use Keracare and CON). It took 2 weeks for my hair to feel soft and breakage started to be reduced almost immediately.
Just 2 days ago i decided to use up a cheapie condish in my hair for detangling. Huge mistake. The label said Moisturising SOY MILK conditioner. My hair is def protein sensitive as now my hair is hard feeling, tangled and a few hairs have broken very easily. I can't wait until i can wash this out.
Does glycerin have protein in it?
