How would you feel if your salon sent you this?

Due to the limited amount of space in the salon. We at Evolution, The Green Room Salon would like for you to refrain from having friends and family wait for you, while you are being serviced.*

Fair enough I guess, if they need more space for other customers, but I do understand someone feeling some kinda way about that.

I would understand.
I used to hate when I went to the salon and there was nowhere to sit and wait because people who weren't ever getting their hair done was sitting in those seats.

I think a business should have enough space for anyone waiting, whether it be those doing their hair or those that are waiting for customers. I dislike places where the area is so small that I feel like I'm in my kitchen getting my hair done with 5 or 6 other people and anyone that happens to accompany me has to wait outside or something. Although, I think those not getting their hair done should be considerate enough to give up their seat if the salon is small. I'll be honest though, if my salon was cosy and sent me the notice, I'd be a little upset because I think that the business should have enough space to accommodate everyone with obvious exceptions.

I would be annoyed if customers brought their friends to hang out... esp if they were ratchet . But yeah, seating should be for folks waiting to get serviced imo

i would be fine with it. If you arent a paying customer move your a$$ so that my customers can sit.

I wouldn't be bothered by it. I would just assume that the salon had recently experienced some issues with too many people there who weren't patrons.

I agree if a patron were to come by and see people all over the seating area may think it will be a long wait time, and not come in. Also people waiting for clients have a tendency to cause trouble, drink coffee, snacks meant for the paying customers and staff.

It's fair, although I do wonder about at least accommodating the young children of the patrons.

At first I agreed with it...then I remembered the time my friend got her haircut at a hipster salon and we all drank free unlimited beer on tap. It. was. awesome. She goes to some place in the mall now...all they have are silly magazines so I haven't been back.

For me it would be an issue so I would go to another salon but if there's no particular reason why you'd "need" someone to wait for you it shouldn't even be given a second thought.

I have no problem with it. It would be nice if you had a place to sit if you were waiting for someone while they were finishing up, but I understand. they must have has some issues that led them to this decision

No prob! You don't bring your whole crew with you when you go to a doctor, dentist or other services so why should this be any different?

I guess I'm trying to imagine scenarios where someone who was getting a service would go to the salon with me...I understand if someone's (one person) is picking someone up who is nearly done, or if someone needs to bring their child along, but otherwise I think its justified that if your friend is just hanging out and your true customers don't have a place to sit, the owner should have the right to request your friend come back after you're ready to go. Not every salon has the luxury of space...let's be real.

I see it as ok however they may experience some who will not like it and they have to suffer the consequences but it would be nice to only have those who are being serviced so I can get a good head count of how many ppl are ahead.

No problem with it at all. I honestly can't stand a bunch of people that AIN'T getting their hair done staring at me while I'm in the seat. With my stylist now that never happens anyhow but in the past when I was younger I used to hate that.

It's pretty normal to see those signs in establishments (hair and nail salons mostly). I have no problem with it and wish the nail salon I was at today had such a policy. This woman's 2 kids were running all over the place and ruining my salon experience. I think everyone was glad when her nail were dry and she finally left.

ETA: Did they send this to you via email? Was it just for you or a mass email?

It's a place where I want to get my hair done - not some social event so I wouldn't mind at all. In fact I'd welcome that.

I don't go to salons that allow non clients to hang out like that. The only children there are getting services. I wouldn't have a problem with the policy, as a matter of fact I'd be more likely to patronize them if I liked the service.

I just imagined these scenarios and it made me LOL!

I totally agree with the salon saying that. We've been asking for black salons to step it up on their professionalism game so...makes perfect sense.
