I'm sure she has a third party company create the products for her. That's what most of these online hair companies do. They don't create anything at all in their kitchen, which is fine with me because its cleaner that way and the product would be more consistent.

Sent from my fancy iPhone using LHCF

That's what I was thinking too because my friend is starting her own business and she says it's illegal, in the state of TX at least, to mix products in your own kitchen.

Just out of curiosity for those who didn't like the product (too heavy/greasy) What is your hair type? And what styles were you using it for(twistouts, PS etc)? I know every product works different for everyone, but for the most part people with similar hair types tend to have similar product experiences.

I'm mostly 4a. The product is not heavy but definitely greasy/oily. I definitely couldn't use this all over my hair. Maybe on the ends only of a protective style in the winter. Yes! It's that greasy.

I'm contemplating what I am going to do with the unused jar and the use jar. Gotta figure it out quick since her products don't preserve for a long time.

MissErikaM ,

I'm mostly 4a.

I was gonna use it for twistouts. It made my hair hard and greasy, even though I used a tiny amount. I have come to believe that shea butter products dont work for me.

Don't preserve!!!

*dead*

Couldn't be me...that's all I'm going to say....

Ya'll better than me.

I love all my small businesses like Koils By Nature, etc. don't get me wrong but, this company right here.
:nono:

Really??, in the ingredients I saw on ETSY I don't recall there being anything water based in the listing- so it shouldn't by nature spoil? Are people's products going rancid or something?

MissErikaM
I have heard someone say their product went rancid pretty quickly while in the refrigerator.

The second listed is ingredient is aloe vera juice. I know that product alone can contribute to a product going bad quicker than typical. Also, the product it self says refrigerate for a longer shelf life.

^^ Is it aloe vera juice or oil? I'm seeing oil on a lot of ingredient listing online, but if it is juice- adding a water based ingredient to all those oils is probably why people's product is separating.Using aloe vera juice in a product with no preservative system is a big no no. :ohwell: Someone on Naturally Curly said the full list wasn't on the bottle b/c she is trying to get it patented. Unfortunately, I don't think you can get shea butter and oil patented. So hopefully that isn't the case.

Welp, my inner PJ has been quieted on this one.

It is definitely JUICE. It seems that the full ingredient list is on the bottle. I think I may do a full review on my blog and I'll include the complete ingredient list along with some pics of my hair when using the product.

Damn, mine probably spoiled. I haven't even looked in the jar since I used it. I was going to give it to a friend but I don't want to do that if it's bad/going to go bad on her. Ah well, there was only like 2 ounces in there anyway

I am mostly 4a and I used it for twists/twistout. It was definitely too greasy, and since mine separated (the oil and butter) during shipment it was a hot mess. I tried mixing it back up and putting it in the fridge but that didn't work.

@Msmchy --- any word yet?

Nope. When I finally shot them an email 9-10-11, Instantly I received the same generated response email. Now what is imon do with a free NC membership? Does anybody else use this? I think on the website I read that you get one free product including shipping if you make 4 separate purchases. ಠ_ಠ

Wow! Yea....that membership...maybe sell the code on the exchange board for $10. That's definitely a slick move because you have to spend more money to get the benefit. Keep an eye on the number of days this has been going. Don't want that 45 day limit paypal has to sneak up on you.

Maybe they are trying to catch up on orders? Why things are listed and available to buy but labeled sold out, I'm not sure however...

Yeah she said everything is sold out:

From FB:
"Hey ladies! Currently we are sold out of everything! When we get more in stock, we will be sure to let you know. Some major changes and improvements are coming to Naturalista Cosmetics so be on the lookout!"
