I'm am sitting here freaking out cause I have to go get a trim later today. I plan on asking for less than an inch to be trimmed but I am scared more than that will be taken off taking me back to square one. if hair only grows 1/2 inch a month I only really gained 2.5 inches back not even the full 4 inches. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

I want to note that my hair is doing quite well since that big trim and I want to continue down that path but I don't want it to be so short. I finally have some hang time when my hair is wet and I love it but after today if that goes away I think I will cry. Lately I have become hair obsessed for some reason. smh

You can learn to trim yourself or do I as I recently done, purchase the splitender as I wasn't comfortable with my own trimming skills. HTH!

I would trim when my ends needed it... do you NEED the trim?

Honestly I don't think so because my hair is still in the blunt cut shape and just recently started to remain braided whereas before since the ends were so blunt it would unravel. I promised myself I would get a trim every six months but when I am looking at how my hair is still short and if I go trim it again I might not feel to comfortable with the length. I'm afraid if I don't get the trim and wait to long that it may become a mess and I have to take more off. The stylist cutting skills are on point but I just don't know if she will understand no more than an inch, possibly 1/2 an inch.

Personally I would not go. One thing I've learned about growing hair is that you cannot expect perfect ends while its growing. Trims are necessary to prevent breakage and unhealthy hair but its not always about a time schedule. Study your ends and evaluate what your hair needs. Do not let fear and a stylist voice urge you into something that you may not need.

You're right! I am going but I will strongly specify what I want. if she takes off more than I won't go back but I really need a deep condition so I have not choice but to go and since I don't frequent the salon much I just want to make my hair neater. I'll see.
