For those it works for, what kind of condish are you using? I don't love any of mine, really.
I use Pantene R&N/Moisture Renewal, Skala G3, and Garnier Fructis conditioner.

@Leesh
Here you are, love.

She tells you how to do it step by step.
I would say her hair is Type 3c.I thought the same thing until I looked at her photo history. It also may look looser bc of the weight from it being so long. She certainly looks kinky curly in her pictures from her first few years with natural hair. I'd say in the 3c range. Possibly smaller. Her curls are small in diameter. The relaxer and transitioning pics look different too. Most of her life she wore her hair in an afro until she learned to care for it. She even had some dred shots in there. I don't think loosely curly/wavy hair will make a good fro or dreds.
I think the curly primer method just smooths her hair out much like shingling does. It looks totally different from her old pictures now. I used the same method on my BoBraz hair and it looked like a different head of weave. It was a giant bushy beast once it dried until I tried this. I've yet to try it on my own hair though. Maybe I should? Hmmm... :scratchch:
ETA: I'm still sitting here looking through her site. She describes her curls as smaller than a pencil and shows a picture next to a pencil. What is that? 3C? She says it would be a fro if she cut it short. Maybe she's a silky 4a? Hmmm....
I've used Aussie Moist with great success. I also have used Suave Natural coconut conditioner. I have a few you tube videos showing my results and technique. It really does not take long for me. If I divide my hair in 4 quadrants, it takes approximately 5 minutes per section, then either air dry(sometimes its not dry as much as I would like) then braid overnight.
It is time consuming but the results for me last a week w/o me having to do anything to my hair all week but shake out the curls so that time spent is definitely worth it. And really it doesn't take any longer than doing most other things we do to our hair here, braid-outs, twist-outs, roller sets, etc.Wow she sure spends a lot of time on her hair. Pulling apart every little curl??? Never would have the patience for that.

She has a youtube for anyone still confused on how to do the method.

This method didn't really work for me when I separated each curls. There are sections of my hair, that no matter how much conditioner on put on the strand, it would poof up and not be as defined as the rest of my hair and that throws the whole look off.
Different conditioners produce different results, and I may need to find one that seals the curl on my hair that "poofs".
The entire process, when I tried, took about 1 hour---not bad, but I wasn't able to get 2nd day hair, so that made it not worth it for me.
Hey, I knew it was you....I kept up with ya this time.Hey Poka, we are almost hair twins but this method does not work for me. It's me Ravenhairbellydancer with yet another name change
...
Exactly, if you can't at least get second day hair what's the point. May as well do an ordinary wash and go with gel or something.THIS! I never get 2nd day hair from this method. I also don't separate the curls.
I would say her hair is Type 3c.
Maybe I'm wrong about my hair or maybe Andre's hair type system is just very limiting. If his system had more numbers, I guess my hair would be a 6A/B!
Here's a picture of a wash n go I did with EcoStyler gel. My hair is dry in this picture:

When straightened, my hair is armpit length. When wet, my hair hangs a little pass to my ears/collarbone. When dry naturally, earlength or above.
i think it might last longer if you used a gel or product with more hold...even a regular WnG with just conditioner rarely has enough hold for me to wear out the next day.

I've tried it with gel and it works much better than using the conditioner only, but that takes forever to dry and I'm trying to get away from using hair gels.
I have not used too many gels because the first few times I tried it, I didn't like it.
What have you found to move to? I think my hair would prefer a creamy product.
also, don't be afraid to use a LOT of conditioner until your hair feels smooth in it. don't worry if you see white conditioner on your hair, it will disappear. .
