And what are you going to do about it?

For me, I can't relax my own hair. I'm not sure if I can do my own keratin either.
Sometimes I don't mind going because it comes out better than it would if I didn't. But, other times, I wish that I could do it myself for various reasons, like I may be in a state/country where I don't know a hairdresser I can trust.

Nothing!! I recently taught myself how to relax, and I know how to colour my hair as well.

I'm going to teach my friend/roommate how to relax my hair and she can do the colour as well.
I have no desire to trim/cut my hair either so I dont need to go for that.

Coloring. I just want to make sure its done right and not ruin my hair.

I can self relax; not into cutting and I can trim.

I prefer to have my hair professionally cut and trimmed. I can do an ok job but when I want it done right, I need a stylist.

Honestly I am just not a DIYer. I absolutely can not flat iron iron my own hair. Well I could but it would take all day, a million flat iron passes, and still look HAM. I can't really do twists/braids/cornrows either, and I would try to trim my own hair but I'm 99% sure I would mess that up.

I need someone to apply my color/cellophane, light trim and deep conditioner. I've been to a salon for services 4 times since 2005. I just relocated and started using a experienced Kitchentician to do my cellophane, deep condition and trim for 20bucks. I'm in heaven!

If I ever need to see the salon it would probably be for a layered cut or something, besides that I am not thinking of dyeing my own hair etc and I do most of my hair alone with success.

None that I can think of or need. Since going natural, independence has been the name of my game.

Trimming. I like a nice blunt trim and the lady that trims my hair does such a good job. I can do search and destroy but I'm positive that if I tried to trim my own hair I'd end up with some kind of Afro mullet...

I learned from exprerience I cannot do my own perms:nono:! I lost 6 inches trying to be a diy and ruined my shot at mbl by june 2011. I think any chemical service would be best applied by someone else I trust.

Relaxer, Cuts, and Color.

I will probably never become a DIY in these areas as long as I have my stylist. She does such a great job. I colored my own hair in college, relaxed it a 6 weeks later and went from below shoulder length to ear length in a matter of minutes. After my hair grew a couple of inches, I tried cutting it and went from chin length to a Halle Berry after a real stylist fixed it.

I'll stick to washing, DCing, flat ironing, and mild trimming.

Highlights, cuts and trims (I always end up uneven and messing up my progress). I'm double processed now and will be going back for relaxers too until my color grows out a few more inches to ensure that I don't relax the colored part.

I would go back to the salon if I wanted a layered cut, which seems unlikely. I can trim, but I won't risk doing that myself.

You're scaring me! :perplexed

I recently dyed my hair
and I plan on texturising my new growth in about 2 months :ohwell:

Permanent color & cut. If I were ever to relax again I'd get that done too.

Same with me. I cant flat iron anything to save my life. :lachen:

Um I go to the salon to get my washed and rollerset or flat ironed. I tried to diy my sr yr of undergrad and it was a disaster and my hair didn't grow one inch. If I have the money I'm going to the salon period point blank. I will never ever make that mistake again lol.

Touch up, trim, a rinse, cut.... anything involving real 'care' I handle myself.. washing, thorough deep conditioning.

I do my own rollersets, BKT, trims, flat iron, protein treatments, steam treatments, henna for color, etc. When I was relaxed, I did that too.

I plan on finding a salon and visiting at the end of this year for a cut. I do my own trims so that I won't have damaging split ends but at some point I will need a cut. I don't trust myself to do that.

Color, particularly if bleach of any kind is involved. I have dabbled in dyeing my own hair with no problems, but I like the uniformity I get when I go to a professional for that.

I also prefer to have my hair flat ironed at the salon, though I don't mind doing it myself. I just like the salon's end result much better than mine. :yep:
