I hope she was lying. Her hair was BEYOND damaged. I'm not talking about just split ends, I'm talking about extremely damaged hair that it's SO thin you can see to her scalp. I was even more shocked to find out that she is a natural (I had already secretly diagnosed her problem with getting too many relaxers...until she drop the news that she's natural).

After learning she was natural, I started to wonder if maybe she just has thin hair. But, she wears the few strands left on her head bone straight EVERYDAY, so I guess she's burning the hair off.

Just to make it clear, she said it's not Dwight that does her hair, but I'm surprised they have people leaving the salon that way. She is in need of some serious hair treatments.

Since you say her hair is bone straight everyday and she's natural, I hope she's realizing that straight hair is not the only way to wear hair. (Then I would like to know the straightening technique. sounds like she is doing some things to her hair at home. i bet she flat irons her hair daily. i remember watching Rip The Runway, and he picked this lady from the subway (she was natural and had beautiful big hair) to do a makeover. i was mad that he had her get a weave instead of doing something to her natural hair, like a different style or something.

How old is she? The reason I ask is that most of the women I notice with extremely thin hair are older 50's and up.

The damage may have been done before she started going there or maybe she has a medical problem. If you can see her scalp she should go to a derm.

I've thought about it, but I've learned to leave people alone regarding their hair....unless they ask me. I did tell her that I bet she looks cute with her natural CURLY hair. She said that she's thinking about wearing it curly more often. I would love to see it. I don't know if it's her or the salon, but it's definitely damaged...not just thinning hair.
