What will take some of us 5 years+ to get to SL will take you 7 months to get to waist! By your pic, I'm assuming you like short hair though and cut it in that style. :saythat:

Okay. Now really. :ohwell: I don't get it. I'm all types of confused.

Her post is dumb and this topic is dumb. No offense just shking my head til my neck sprains.

yes girl, we must all celebrate the beauty of cuban hair. You know she was fooling, cause her "PR" friend told her this lol. This was def a bait thread.

I didn't know relaxed hair meant Cuban.....

Guess I learn something new everyday O_O

Making a silly thread will get silly responses. She could have written her explanation in her original post but she decided to make a thread about something that made no sense so this is what ya get. :ohwell: Reminds me of the "ceiling length" thread which was another post and run mess.

yes I used to have cubanehair myself and didn't even know it. Now I got that nap nap, I should have def stuck with my good cuban-ness.

In response to my post, I have been a member of this forum since 2006. When I joined my hair was short and damaged, I have always had long hair until that time.

I made a statement of what someone else said about my hair, I see now that I shouldn’t have. I’m African American and proud of it! I’m not trying to be no other race or want their hair. I don’t have a curl pattern (my hair swells) and is thick.

When I joined I didn’t know about hair types, I haven’t updated my profile since then. I relax my hair now every 3 months, I use to trim my hair every 6 weeks until I learned on the forum that I didn’t have to, now every three months.

I pay a membership because I like the forum; my hair should longer however I had some issues in the past.

The post is worthless and I apologies to everyone

damn yall, just because she's been here since 2006 doesnt mean anything. Talking about her hair goals is a tad bit cold dont ya think? There's plenty of old members still in the SL challenges and members who relax and then transition and then relax and then big chop and then relax and weave it up and come on here crying about it every chance they get.

On another note...I got cuban hair so i can say this! lol

Delusional....no.

My point is basically i dont see the point in being negative or name calling....like calling me delusional lol.

We are entitled to make any type of thread that we want..whether someone agrees or disagrees & if a person disagrees it would make more sense to just leave the thread instead of causing drama...which i highly doubt op was tryna start any chaos by starting this thread...who knows what her thoughts were.

Idk i just don't think its that deep to be name calling & bn sarcastic towards someone because another disagrees with a thread someone has started...but that's just my opinion. :-)

I guess case closed.. she's learned her lesson and we can actually all learn from this: Don't start stupid threads. Rethink what you want to say and make sure it's something that contributes instead of being unnecessary and uniformative. Please leave the mixed, Or that people think your hair is Cuban or anything else at bay.. anyone want to add to the list of unnecessary threads/threads avoided at best?

"Stupid" is subjective. I think irrelevant is a better word :yep:

If someone makes a thread called "Who has gotten growth from topical breastmilk twice a day" then yeah, some people may think that thread is stupid. But its still a valid topic. This board is about sharing ideas, info, encouragement etc to reach a common goal for us women of color: healthy hair. The topical breastmilk thread is relevant to this goal.

It wasn't right for some people to talk about OP's length progress. You don't know what she's been through. It's a low blow to make unnecessary comments on her progress and where her hair "should" be.

'Tis all.

@ OP.....I don't think u had hair or wanted hair that wasn't 'african' american. What I do think is that your first post was not articulated well. U repeated a statement made by your friend, and all now have not explained exactly what that statement even means.....

So...I ask again, what is cuban hair? Don't get your feathers all ruffled because you didn't get the responses you desired/expected, especially given the fact that we are still clueless as to the point of the thread.

lol @ specifying he's Peurto Rican, as if that's supposed to give him more credibility with hair typing :giggle:

I've been stuck between NL and SL as well too. If people come here making strange threads then sarcastic comments and jokes are going to follow. I was actually seriously wondering because we all know that straight hair has its issues but retention is usually a bit easier so hair tends to be longer and appears to be easier to grow than textured hair. Maybe I could've said it without the sarcasm and the emoticon to get that point across? Maybe the OP uses heat appliances to hinder progress? Endless questions.

This thread is just confusing. The OP shouldn't feel hurt, we all poke fun whenever something shocks us — whether it's a thread like this, hair update, or BC; we do it to the OP's face or behind their back — that's blunt honesty for you.

OP you shouldn't feel the need to apologize either for your post if you were just wondering; just know if you make threads like these, people that are mad will argue back and forth and others will joke and find humour in it. It's just the way things work around here. :look:

I agree to certain point. But starting a thread stating: my friend thinks my hair looks Cuban doesn't provide a valid point to anyone trying to grow hair. I agree on the attacks on her growth they were immature and very low.

Aireen I'm gonna need you to stop going so hard all the time :lachen: I wasn't talking to you. I wasn't really talking to anyone :look: It was just a thought as I skimmed thru the thread :drunk:

AlliCat: ?????? Uh, same?

I wasn't being specific either, I read all the comments and wasn't addressing anyone in particular, that's why I didn't quote. What made you think I was speaking of you explicitly? :perplexed

Cause before the edit i said who knows what the OP's been through, I was stuck at NL for 2 years, its bad to talk about someone's progress etc etc

then you said "I've been stuck between NL and SL as well too....."

It looked like a response to my post 'tis all

Oh naw, I was responding to most people on that page, not just one person. I said that for everyone that was saying the comment was a low blow. I was stuck at NL and SL for years, I can make excuses and say things to make it sound better but truth is, I was stuck too so I'm not better. It may have been a low blow with the sarcasm but I was genuinely wondering since I consider myself highly textured or nappy and it used to be a struggle for me in the beginning. I would think, the looser the curl — or straight in this case — the less of a struggle it is with retention. Not to say there are not other difficulties with the looser curled hair types.

Now y'all wait just a minute.

This was a serious question??

OP, YOU HAVE A RELAXER. That doesn't mean you don't have a curl pattern THAT MEANS YOUR HAIR HAS BEEN CHEMICALLY STRAIGHTENED.

Yes. My hair has been relaxed I never had a curl pattern as a young girl. However, my hair swells when it's time to relax it. My father, grandmother, aunt all on my dad side has straight hair.My hair grows however I was trimming often not to retain length.

If your hair swells, I think it has texture to it. I believe straight hair falls in humidity and naturally textured/curly/wavy hair swells.
