@Imani, you might want to try @westNDNbeauty's method for flat ironing. She recommended super saturating the hair with moisture via poo and conditioning routes before attempting to flat iron.

I am almost at the point where I want to play with flat ironing occasionally so that I can add another hairstyle to my playbook.
Yeah, I remember that thread. I think I posted in it actually. This is pretty much the method I always use and still don't have the same results as the salon. I use the same flat irons and blow dryer and everything. i also have a steamer at home.

gone. I wish I had known about it earlier. It makes my hair so soft and my scalp is very happy. It's one of the only lines that didn't make me itch. I'm wanting to go back for the detangling ghee.
