I think she meant the kind of post that starts mess.

Not saying you did it on purpose, but I've only been lurking - just joined a few days ago, and even I know what kind of thread will end up with Sunday references, gifs, and eventually locked. I'm not trying to point out your flaws or say you were trying to start anything - because I think your post may have been taken the wrong way - I'm just saying what I've observed.

Is there a reason we keep sharing other people's ignorant comments?...Sometimes it makes this forum feel like a Healthy Hair Journey Anonymous group.

Maybe the bold should be a sticky thread so *therapist voice* all ignorance can be shared in a safe place without judgement (or gifs, or thread locking). lolz

Maybe I'm being negative but I'm kinda sick of reading about how someone's ignorant parents/friends/strangers called their hair nappy or weave checked them. We've ALL been there! :ohwell:

If you need other HHJers to validate you once you've been the victim of ignorance, please proceed to the Healthy Hair Journey Anonymous Group Thread where people are waiting to "Oh no she didn't!" at a moments notice! :lol:
 
Will "I can't believe they thought I was mixed!!!" comments be included in HHJ Anonymous? Please say yes.
 
Exactly..we are not just here to grow healthy hair but also to fight the stereotypical comments we get because of our hair. And to prove a point that our hair can grow, is beautiful , and great as it is (nappy or not) I don't see how some of these threads contribute to our mission to achieve that or make up for intelligent conversation.

Your hair looks like regular straight hair, i don't understand where the cuban comment came in. Seems like he was just being an arse.

Especially seeing that Cuba has blacks as well, meaning you're gonna see ALL in the range of hair types.
Thus.....THUS....what da heck does cuban-type/textured hair mean. Cuba is a country, not a race....so there can't be any standard expectation of the type of hair on the head of a Cuban.

That's like saying, "damn this girl thinks i have AMERICAN-type/textured hair"....
I don't see why you don't get, that WE don't get what you're trying to say.

OP, after looking at your hair, I can state with full confidence that it's not Cuban. I'll avail myself of my hair encyclopedia to find out where it's from. :yep:

usually i like to jump into the phuckery of these threads... but i dont think i'm sleepy enough, so here i go

most people of latin background (cubans, puerto ricans, dominicans, venezuelans, etc) have multiple hair types even with in the same family.

I'm PR and i have 3b'ish hair. there are plenty of AA's with natural 3b hair. and there are pink toes that have natural 3b hair. so hair type has nothing to do with your ethnic background.

i have people in my family with hair types that range from 1-4zzz

people who use hair as an ethnic indicator "I have that good petter rican hair" are delusional and in need of psychiatric hair help

your hair doesnt make you better or worse than anyone else. being dumb however can (not saying OP is "dumb", just pointing something out)
