HITS

Kenra Detangling Shampoo
This is the ONLY so far that does not make my scalp itch. It feels so good going on and smells wonderful.

I use a more cleansing one first and the the Kenra and I only need a little bit. I am happy about that becaue the shampoo is kind of pricey. I put it in a color applicator bottle to better control how much I use at a time.

I rinse for a few minutes so dont get the detangling effect but thats all right because that is not what I use it for.

I used it on my DD's hair yesterday (after using a clarifying shampoo) for the first time and I did not rinse as long as her natural hair was a breeze to detangle.

She was happy that she was finished sooner also.

YEAH KENRA!!!

Aphogee pro-Vitamin Leave in
Does not leave the hair sticky nor do a I feel any product.
Hair was a breeze to detangle after washing.

Using Millcreek Biotin conditoner as a leave-in
I did not want to include a nother long step in my wash routine so I use this once a week and my hair is behaving better. This did not work as a rinsout and I was going to return it. I am glad I didn't

Avocado oil
Using this after washing instead of a heavier leave-in left my hair so moist for days. I dont see as much breakage as I used to eithier.

Only getting misses currently. . .

*Soft Sheen Carson Hi-Rez in "Ruby Quake" : I expected my hair drying out (even though L'Oreal Excellence didn't dry it out too much). But here's the thing, if my hair is going to be dry as straw, I want my hair to look like it actually changed colors. I've gotten a more vivid red using kool-aid. The only upside was the shampoo included didn't irritate my scalp. If they sold that shampoo separately, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Harlem 125: The two I bought are lovely, just don't fit on my head. *sigh*

Hits:
Donna Marie MiraCurl Gelly
Donna Marie Super Buttercream
Oyin Honey Hemp
Peppermint oil on my scalp when steaming
Qhemet Moringa Conditioning Ghee
Oyin Burnt Sugar Pomade on my edges
Combining Kinky Curly Custard with SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

Miss:
DonnaMarie curly buttermilk - moisturizing but not enough slip, great product but a miss for me!

It sucks that you had a disappointing experience with this line! I've used it several times in the past and always thought: it's not really going to show up... But then BAM! The next morning I wake up and see my hair in natural light (not even BRIGHT light) and it's very visible; others would easily notice it as well.

Perhaps it was the colors I chose or maybe my hair was just super porous (I was relaxed the times I used it)

Hits:
Alfaparf Nutri Seduction wearable treatment
Alfaparf Rigen Nourishing Cream

Miss:
CURLS Lavish Curls moisturizer (left a sticky film, and was dry and chalky hours later)

Continued BIG HIT

Denman D24 Double Row Detangling Comb *I didn't even use my TT this wash day....may put it away*

Continued Hit:
Sally's One 'n Only Argan Oil - I use it to seal my ends, it helps to combat my SSK.

Misses:
Proclaim Argan Oil
Creme of Nature Argan Oil

Actually these two brands are ok. Argan Oil is actually higher on the ingredient list than it is on the Sally's brand, but I really love the thickness of the One 'n Only Argan Oil and I love the scent!

Hit:
SSI Marshmallow Herbal Hair Cream
Eco Styler Argan Oil- Better hold and last longer than the olive oil

Hit - adding cholesterol to indigo mix. Makes the indigo paste thicker. However, it was still runny. I will add more cholesterol next time.

Forgot to add

Miss:

Organix Cucumber Yougurt: felt good in the shower; however my hair felt hard and gross once I got out of the shower. And my hair loved organix while I was transitioning :perplexed:

@beautyaddict1913 - How did you wear your hair after you combined these two? Did you put them together or put one on first and then the 2nd.

What did you like about it?

TIA

faithVA I used it for a twist-out. I wet my hair, then slathered on the KCCC then put the SM Smoothie over it and twisted. I did it section by section. I saw FreeWorshipFreeWors do something similar on yt in her video titled Kinky Curly Custard is just not for wash n' go's. She used her own mix as a moisturizer but I chose to use the SM Smoothie to see how well they played together. My hair was sooo soft, defined, and had excellent hold. I didn't have to clarify before using it or anything! The SM smoothie plays well with Miss Jessie's products too - its a fab moisturizer! Hope that helps you hun!

Thanks. I have been using the KCCC with water/glycerin and it has been working well. But I purchased the Smoothie yesterday. I definitely want to give this a try for more styling options/effects.

faithVA if you try to use SM Smoothie as a styler alone you may not like it because the hold is zero! But as a moisturizer or a leave-in with gels and other stylers its awesome! I did a flat-twistout with it on the pic in my siggy and it didn't have the hold that I like so I wore it in a zing and took that pic lol! Just depends on the look you are going for or what your styling needs are.

Thanks. I wasn't really sure how to use it. I applied it last night and it was moisturizing which is rare for me. I have my hair in a flat twist updo which I will probably turn into a twist out over the weekend. But you are right, I can tell it doesn't have much hold and it doesn't have that tight, fresh look like it would with KCCC. So I will give it a try with the gels.

What in the world is a zing?

faithVA a hair zing is basically a clip that you can put in your hair to give you a large ponytail or bun or whatever. I have a black one in the pic in my siggy. They are also called e-z combs and are available at Ross, Sallys, & Wal-Mart. Sure saves a bad hair day!

Miss: ORS Carrot oil as a moisturizer...yuck! I used it when i had a relaxer every now and then, but whoa - my natural hair hated it. Too greasy, and gunky (IMO). I will never use this again. :nono:

Thanks. I feel a lil dumb now. I bought something like that from Walgreens yesterday. Had no idea what they were called. But this sounds like I need to make a special trip to Sally's to buy some more.

crece pelo leave in-smells great (smells like a mix of silicon mix and zest:lol:)and smooths my natural hair better than lacio lacio. plus it comes in a bigger bottle for the same price.

praital silk worm cream-slip moisture and protien all in one. i barley had any breakage after using it. it smells wonderul. this will be my staple. i need to follow up with something a little more moisturising though. this may even replace m staple protien dc. time will tell.

miss
coppola infusion replenisher-it works and smells delicious but i didnt like how i needed to use direct heat for it to work. plus my roots reverted overnight. i could get these results with a regular serum!

On the fence: Taliah Waajid - detangler and protective mist bodifier. Used it on my daughters 4b hair after washing and wasn't wow'd by it. Hair almost felt kinda dry afterwards but it did soften it a bit. It just felt funny.

It looked good and felt just ok the next morning so I will try it again on dry hair and see what happens.

I was going to recommend trying it on dry hair. I can't use it on wet hair. It does nothing. I think with the water it doesn't soak in. But on dry hair it is the only thing besides a water/glycerin mix that moisturizes my hair for a day. Ooh but I don't try to detangle with it. I only use it for moisturizing.
