I was hoping to make BSL in 12/2011 but I made it in 3 mtns

I just took my weave out and decided to stretch my hair and was shocked to see that I am actually at BSL ALREADY, 3 months post my last APL picture. I am still in disbelief because for years, my hair never grew past my neck and growth for some reason has been pretty good since Jan 2010. Can't wait to see where I will be in 12/2011.

I myself am not really sure but the only thing I have been doing differently is scalp treatment every 6 weeks, and protective styling. I used to wear half wigs in 2010 but it damaged my sides pretty badly so this was my first weave. I have been making every effort to leave my hair alone and I think that is the key.

great progress. your apl doesnt look too far from your bsl so thats probably why it only took 3 more months. from 2007 to 2011 sounds like a reasonable time to get to bsl, which is good news for me

The fast growers get to BSL much sooner so you could be in pretty good shape. I get about .25 or less per month on average but I began seeing growth improvement in Jan of 2010 after I started using scalp treatments and being more vigilant about protective styles. I wish I had started sooner.

I use these nexus products and protective styles. Those are the only 2 changes I made in my regimen which seem to have accelerated my growth.

Nioxin Scalp Treatment:
1) New NIOXIN Scalp Renew Density Restoration (use this for 12 days after treatment) and
2) NIOXIN SCALP RENEW DERMABRATION TREATMENT FOR HAIR (every 6 wks)

Yes, the treatment is applied to the scalp, massage in, leave on for 10 mins, wash/dc the hair and style as usual. This is my first time wearing a weave since I started the treatment. It was better when I had the halfwig. I only kept the hair weaved up for only 6 weeks which coincided with the treatment. If I kept the weave in longer, I would have done the treatment when I took the weave out.
