Wow nice progress! I couldn't keep my sew in for longer than 2weeks but I will try again if this is what I could possibly look forward too!

Is it easier to get to BSL from APL then from SL to APL? Reason I am asking cause I am almost there too depending on which bra I wear plus NG hard to tell. Congratulations OP! It is so cool!

Great progress Mystic! I hope I get wonderful surprise like you did when I take this weave out in may.

I am not a weave wearing and I tell you, the first week after the install, I almost went crazy from itching. It was so bad! Putting oil on my scalp was the worst:blush:, it made my scalp feel like it is on firer from the amt of itching it caused.

This year I became serious and decided that I was going to wear weave for a year to get to my targeted goal of BSL. Halfwig was my choice and I loved it, but it didn't work out as I hoped. I have very sensitive scalp and any constant rubbing breaks my sides off. I got the net weave, washed and dc once per week and rollerset the weave most times. I use the dryer to dry my scalp each time I wash because I was told keeping the scalp wet while in the net could lead to fungus on my scalp and hair so that scared me pretty much:lol:.

I experimented with different things to put on my scalp while in the weave. Some weeks I put nothing. Other times I used a mix of sulfur and S-curl which calms my scalp but leaves white residue on it. Also by day 3, it starts itching again. It also left white residue on my scalp and I didn't want this to lead to any kind of dandruff later on so I used this concoction very rarely. Towards the end, I began using only the Infusium23 diluted with a little water, and that has been good for keeping my scalp calm until the next wash and it also doesn't leave any build up on my scalp or on the weave which makes the styles last longer. Hope this helps.

Great progress! What is your weave regimen, how do you maintain your hair while wearing the weave I mean? I have one in now and I'm hoping to follow in your footsteps and make BSL when I take it down!

It took me forever to get from shoulder length to APL. In my whole life, I have never gotten to APL - not even close! I always stayed at neck or a little bit below. I was getting frustrated with how long it took to get to APL because I used to measure a lot and obsessed about the growth. I changed my job recently began working those awfully busy nursing shifts and had limited time to obsess with my hair; that's when I got to APL without even realizing it.

Based on picture trail, I think it took me 12 months or so -probably even more, to get to APL; and a little less than 3 months to BSL (while in weave). It might have taken longer if I had my hair out.

Funny thing is, BSL was what I truly wanted. I used to dream about being at BSL but...., now that I am there, I am truly grateful and shocked but yet, dissatisfied, weird:ohwell:. I am going to keep going until the end of the year to see what that brings. Hopefully I will be at the last mark on the progress T-Shirt. After 12/2011, I want to wear my hair only and put away the weave. I have a weave complex lol:yep:, but it has a lot of benefit.

Awesome progress! What's your long-term goal now

Just chiming in....we all have that one bra we use when we're APL to measure BSL because it's sooo close  hence the standardization of BSB -- Below Shoulder Blade. Try measuring your BSL that way instead. Also, just like the OP oddly enough, it took me sooo long to get to APL, but then I got to BSL in about 3 months. I chalked it up to a summer growth spurt in my case...

Great progress, OP! We're happy for ya. :yep:
