Before I dry detangle with my fingers, I put on a white t-shirt so afterwards I can check if I have excess amount of breakage my t-shirt.:look:

i dont do that before i knew about combing with wet hair with conditioner i would only need to look on the bathroom floor to see what breakage i had:look:.......

You're special.

LOL, j/k...I usually detangle when I get out the shower so I don't do it. It's not a bad idea though.

Ok so when I first read your post I giggled and thought "No, I've never..." then I reread and it actually makes a lot of sense.

I don't own many white t-shirts but I will find out just to try this out next time I detangle.

....I detangle in the shower, but before I wash, I like to run my fingers through my hair a couple of times to shorten the detangling process in the shower.

No, but I try to do my dry detangling over the white sink so that I can easily spot fallen strands and examine them for bulbs. The white shirt sounds like a good idea for those times I stick my fingers in my hair while I'm in bed though.

I use to but learned that my hair works best when I apply leave-in on sopping wet hair (kimmaytube leave-in) and detangling when about 90% dry. With that, there is no need for the tshirt to soak up the drippies before applying leave-ins. I can track the shed/broken hairs better on semi-dry hair. Plus, I think my hair is weaker when wet and I lose hair unnecessarily when detangling and/or manipulating at this step. HTH.

I check the floor when I comb the deep conditioner through my hair.

Then when I run the comb through it a few times in the morning and in the evening (flat ironed hair) I bend down, flip my hair over toward the floor and gently comb downward to see what kind of hair hits the floor to determine breakage or shed hairs. BTW the floor is white which makes it easier to see.

No... but I do take the hairs that shed into my hands or comb and inspect it intensely for the white bulb. If I can't see it! I put it against my grey coffee table.. Where is the white bulb?? Then I put against my black remote control!! Ah, there it is... *whew* :look: :spinning:

i dont dry detangle but i will have white wash day tshirts from now on so i monitor my breakage. i do check my shirt after i have been handling my hair but a white/light shirt would make any broken hairs easier to see.:yep:

that's a really good idea actually. but i get so much breakage it would just make me depressed.
