Let's keep this simple, post your regimen, products and pics, any other tips u may want to share.

I'm having a hard time finding a regimen that works for me, maybe I can copy one of yours, lol.

I'ma bump this.... sorry to jack OP but I would like to see some styles as well. My roommate who is a 3a-c has trouble with styling and I would like to be able to help her out a bit

Liljoy I tend to use Dominican deep conditioers - La Plancha, Diez en Uno, etc but right now I'm using Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose because it always gives me great results

I steam at least 3x a month with AOHR
Although I love my curls, I tend to rollerset my hair more in the winter. My hair is long and thick and takes forever to dry so I can't walk around Boston in 20 degree weather with wet hair

Gels I use:
Ecostyler
Prostylr black gel
Hairveda Whipped Jelly
Curls Gel-les'c (I might have spelled it wrong)

Conditioner - I co-wash and use Suave Coconut or Tresemme Naturals

Shampoo - Just started using Come Clean by Kinky Curly. You can get this and AOHR at Whole Foods.

I dye my hair every 2 months to get rid of the greys. I use Tints of Nature ($14) which I also buy at Whole Foods. Its plant based, does have chemicals but I pick my poison. I ain't walking around with greys, no way no how

Picture 1 - I do a coconut oil + Amla treatment at least once a month
Picture 2 - My curly Q's LOL I think I co-washed and applied avocado butter to my hair. My hair is longer so altho I'm a 3C my hair is a little more wavy now
Picture 3 - My hair how its usually styled. I rollerset, dry and brush back in a bun or ponytail.
Picture 4 - When my hair isn't straight I usually have it in a curly ponytail
picture 5 - My boring bun! A great protective and boring style

I love love ur hair, I might have to go and get some of the products u are using, ur regimen is very simple just like I like it, but for real u have beautiful hAir, straight and curly keep it up and thanks for the pics.

Tu pelo esta mortal lol( ur hair is off the hook)

BostonMaria, how long have you been using the Come Clean? What other sulfate-free shampoos have you used? I've been wanting to try it for months now, but I'm not familiar with anyone who uses it, forumwise or real life.

Bostonmaria, that first puff with the hair clip is soooo beautiful.

Thank you!

@BostonMaria what is the process for your coconut oil + Amla treatment?

Oh its very simple - I mix the powder (half the box) with water until its a paste. I then pour avocado oil (I don't measure, maybe 1/2 cup) and mix it up. I apply it on my dry hair and leave it for an hour, rinse, then co-wash.

I actually started using it last week. I was getting frustrated because every shampoo I buy strips my hair and makes it feel awful & look frizzy. I decided to try it because I read good reviews. I love it and my hair felt great, my scalp was nice and clean. I highly recommend it. I buy it at Whole Foods for about $11.99.

Once a week:

Shampoo (sulfate free), lathering up twice.

Put on conditioner/deep conditioner, detangle, use thermal heating wrap for 30 mins or so.

If I'm wearing my hair curly, I like curl junkie aloe fix, aloe fix lite, or kinky curly curling custard. I also cowash using a cone free condish after about 3 days, and then restyle my hair in the same way.

If I'm braiding or twisting, I use a hair cream and I've been sealing with sunflower oil.

During the week, I oil my hair with monoi de tahiti or regular ole coconut oil.

I'm using cassia obovata/amla once a month, and a protein treatment when needed. I ALWAYS do a protein treatment before flatironing, which I do a few times a year and then I get a trim at this time.

I have a lot of different products but my regimen is pretty simple.

Loved ur curls, I'm trying to get my hair thicker cause I feel is too thin plus I have fine hair as well, any recommendations?

Thanks in advanced.

My regimen is really simple:
My hair loves butters and cremes. My current favorites are from Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root and Bee Mine Curly Butter

I use Creme of Nature shampoo (the old version) or a cheapie conditioner to co-wash.

I use IC reconstructor for leave-in

I DC once a week but would love to do it more. I like the dominican conditioners -

I use the butters for styling in updos.

When I wear it out in twist outs, I like and Kinky Curly Curling Custard over a butter for styling because I don't like crunchy hair.

I wear my hair up (buns, updos, ponies) 99% of time. I get dominican blowouts or flat iron styling 2 times a year.

I am about waist length straight and apl curly.

I'm still working on my regimen being natural for only a year.

Shampoo twice a week with moisturing shampoo non sulfate-giovanni, Aubrey
deep conditioners- Jessi curl, alter ego,
leave in- kinky curly knot today, giovanni or any with panthenol
detangler- mane n tail
Oils- ceramides-walnut, kukui, almonds, salflower, seseme, grapeseed
My hair doesn't like shea butter for moist I have yet to find a butter, creme that works for my hair most make it waxy feel so I use the leaves in and oils for moisture.

Products:
S~curl no drip moisturizer, carefree curl activator, Parnevu leave in conditioner Extra dry, Giovanni deep leave in conditioner. Oils: Castor oil, Coconut oil, avocado oil, Moroccan argan oil, and olive oil.

Conditioners:
I condition wash whenever needed, either once a week or once every two weeks with WEN.
I then use Lustersilk cholesterol and Parnevu leave in conditioner as my deep conditioners... leave in overnight usually.

Regimen:
Conditioner wash once every two weeks, or when needed.
Deep condition
Oil scalp every 3 days
apply products,
then seal

usually Buns or braids as my everyday styles

WASHING:I wash (oil rinse, finger detangle, deep condition) my hair (about) every 8 days

rinse, finger detangle and re-condition the length every 4 days.

DRYING:I come out of the shower and wear an old t-shirt as a turban for 5-10 minutes. I then air dry in about 8 braids with Giovanni 50:50 conditioner as a leave in, sealed with sunflower oil, and with homemade flaxseed gel. I remove the braids when my hair is 80% dry (often the morning after) and shake it upside down and sideways to get elongated curls. I wear it out or in a messy bun with a soft scrunchie.

MOISTURIZING:During the week I only remove the shed hair while moisturizing. I moisturize before bed with a little water and some conditioner +oil or gel, every couple of days, and then I make a high bun, pineapple or 5 braids. If the weather is drying, I moisturize and wear a shower cap for an hour and my hair is back to its softness.

My products:
Giovanni 50:50 shampoo and conditioner (as a leave in)
AO White Camellia as a DC, AO GPB or an egg yolk once a month
Olive/ coconut /hemp /sunflower oils
Homemade flaxseed gel (ph balanced with citric acid)

My hair LOVES any conditioner that has cetyl alcohol for added weight, lubrication and clumping and HATES (=doesn't give me setbacks, but becomes more difficult to detangle, moisturize and style with) humectants, silicones, waxes and butters.

Banded braidout:

Wow, there is some greAt hairs in here, and I like all of your regimens, u all are doing such a good work, I wish I cAn do the same with my hair,

liljoy

welll to make your hair thicker...i dont know how thick it would get but i know curlynikki is a fine maybe thin haired curly and used henna which is said to thicken it up a bit. if you dont want the color dont use anything acidic with it.

or there's cassia obovata, or oils with ceramides which there's a great detailed thread about this now which you should check out. one lady on here used oil with ceramides and showed the evolution of her bun which got bigger.

@liljoy to add on to empressri's post, you can also try Amla powder. Its supposed to help strengthen your hair. My DD's hair isn't as thick as mine so I tell her to add castor oil to her deep conditioner and so far her hair is looking thicker and very healthy. My DD also does amla treatments once a week.

I like Henna, but it does stick to the hair bond and if you try to dye your hair... well the color won't take at all. Actually yeah I recommend henna to you so you can stop dying your hair LOL

tHENATuRALhAiRpRoJEcT,

I didn't intend to bring them in, they snuck in here...:yep: you will get there though I believe you will :yep:

Thank you, im not sure who VIP is though :nono:

PeculiarDaye your hair is gorgeous! You and I have the same kind of shrinkage. When my hair is curly it looks SL.

BostonMaria,

Thank you very much. You have beautiful hair as well. Yes the curls do shrivel up, especially when there is only oil in my hair.
I love it though we've got that "fooled ya" hair, :yep::lachen:

Urrrm, I thought I was a 3c but now I am confused..

I'll give it a shot anyway, and please feel free to let me know if I am being delusional.

I shampoo with Dr. Bronner's Castile soap every 4-6 weeks.

I co-was 3-7 days a week (I have just started using Aubery Organics) depending on whether I do a braid-out or not.

The only products I use are Coconut oil and Hemp Seed Butter, occasionally I will use Eco styler for a wash and go.

wavezncurlz and PeculiarDaye: Both of you have gorgeous hair but are you 3Cs? It seems like BostonMaria, empressri, and Conterria are 3Cs, but you all look like you have looser hair, like 3Bs. If you guys are considered 3C, I'm confused too! Because I have hair like the last 3 mixed up in my hair, and I was told that was 3C.
Either way, I love all of the beautiful hair in this thread. :)

That's what I was thinking. And PeculiarDaye looks like she may be 3b/3c, but definitely not full 3c to me.
But I'm not an expert. It just seems like 3 of you have very similar-looking hair while those 2 seemed different.
