TYPE 4= RELAXED & NATURALS.....post your "current" REGIMEN

My regi's pretty simple these days...I co-wash every 2-3 days with Almond and Shea butter Suave, and I wash with a sulphate-free shampoo when needed. I DC with Miss Key 10 en 1 once a week under my dryer. I seal with an oil mix (Black castor oil, olive oil, n wheat germ oil) after every co-wash (I usually leave a lil condish in my hair). ETA I usually fingercomb in the shower or use my seamless detangler in the shower with conditioner (I prefer finger combing.)

For daily care, I spritz with my juice mix (aloe vera juice/CFC Gold/water/glycerin) 2-3 times a day for moisture, and I style my hair with Ecostyler Gel. I baggy my hair at night under my satin bonnet, an in the a.m. I spritz, fluff, throw on my head bands and go. I usually wear my hair in different variations of a puff.

My only growth aid is MN mixed with Black Castor Oil and peppermint eo, and apply that to my scalp after I co-wash (when i remember to:grin:).

Type: 4B Texlaxed in the crown & relaxed edges and nape - Thick strands

Co-wash every week - Suave conditioner
Wash as needed - Cream of Nature detanglind conditioning poo
Clarify before relaxers - VO5 Kiwi Lime
Deep Condition - Once each week w/ ORS replenishing con or AO HSR
Protein - Aphogee 2 minute abt. every three weeks & Profective Break Free Leave In Conditioner
Vitamins - Biotin (1000mg) twice daily, One A Day Mulit once daily, Vitamin E 400 IU twice daily

Before washes Deep Conditioon on dry hair with ORS replinishing conditioner or Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose for 3-8 hours. Detangle hair then get in shower and co-wash or poo if scalp is still dirty after 2nd co-wash. Rinse out last conditioner with cold water. wrap hair in big t-shirt to dry. Spray hair with S-curl and do final detangle. Put in Profective Break Free to add more protein, Put castor oil on scalp only, rub coconut oil in length of hair to seal wrap hair in scarfs and twist the hair hanging out into a bun. Baggie my bun and put final scarf on to secure baggie bun.

Comb only on wash day--only flat iron every 12 weeks at touch up --Hair down once a month until I reach my goal of midback-- Moisturize 1 to 2 times daily with s-curl, profective break free and coconut oil to seal--baggie hair in a bun every night with silk scarf and sleep on silk case to prevent breakage on my edges.

Thinking about changing co-washes to Main-n-Tail to increase protein. Still getting a little breakage.

you said you'll be adding protein
what about just an egg? to the condit
or adding aphogee leave in?

I just recently took out my braids done on my own hair.
Washing: While in braids I would wash with Aphogee for Damaged Hair (in recovery); Roux Porosity Control; Aphogee 2 min Keratin Conditioner; then leave on Neutrogena Triple Moisture.

Daily: Spritz with spray bottle mixture of conditioner, water, glycerine, saa

I STILL HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHERE TO FIND SAA

I'm a 4a, my hair is natural and a bit past BSL.

My regimen:

I wash once a week or once every ten days.

I detangle with my fingers. Make three braids on each side; sometimes I may put some conditioner on the lower part of the hair.

Shampoo the scalp only. Take out the braids.

Do an oil rinse with shea butter.

Put some conditioner in my hair ( Lekair), braid it again and deep condition for at least half an hour.

Detangling:
At one point, I thought the denman brush took too much hair out . I tried to detangle with a seamless wide tooth comb then use the denman to remove shed hairs. That took much too long. Now, I fill the sink and soak the brush before detangling from the ends up. Each time I find a tangle, I'll put the brush in the water. I try not to move up too fast, moving up 2 cms at a time is good enough so that you won't create tangles. I detangle section by section . It takes 20 minutes.

Drying:
I leave my hair to dry in braids or twists.
Once dry, I'll moisturize and oil the ends.

Styling:
I don't fuss much with my hair. I do braids, braid outs, twists, twist outs, two flat twists/cornrows on the sides or a bun.

I used to do a henna every 6 weeks but I haven't done one since January.

Natural head checkin' in.

Current hair regimen:

Prepoo deep conditioning treatment with Extra Virgin Olive Oil on dry hair.
Shampoo hair in sections with Suave Humectant Shampoo.
Condition and detangle hair in sections (finger comb then shower comb or denman brush; don't really like how the denman brush flattens my hair though) with Suave Humectant Conditioner.
Moisturize hair with shea butter.
Style (usually just twists).

The only thing I don't like about my current hair regimen is the shea butter. It's way too heavy for my hair. I don't really have the money to get what I want, and the BSS products I was using were causing major build-up on my scalp.

Some of my favorite products:

Shampoo:
Black Earth Total Body Shampoo
Suave Humectant Shampoo
Apple Cider Vinegar (as needed)

Conditioner:
Suave Humectant Conditioner

Deep Conditioner:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Nutress Protein Pack for Extremely Damaged Hair
Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner
Aubrey Organics GPB Conditioner

Leave-In Conditioner:
Water
Black Earth Protective Mist Bodifier

Moisturizer:
Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive Heavy Cream
Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Hair Lotion
Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter
Carol's Daughter Some of Marguerite's Magic
BB Hair Lotion with Aloe and Castor Oil

Detangler:
Suave Humectant Conditioner
v05 Moisture Milks conditioner

Hair Oils/Sealant:
Qhemet Biologics Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm
Olive Oil
Castor Oil
Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey

as of now i just co wash, and then i add Cantu Shea Butter Leave in Treament. although alot of ppl don't like it, It smells good and always leaves my hair moisturized and soft. however i did not like it on my relaxed hair.

the shea butter thing... have you tried whipping it (in a mix with you favorite oil -- like coconut oil)? maybe an oil your hair loves? whip it into a creamy base..???

I actually have (still too heavy for me), but my hair really needs more water. I've found that when I use water-based moisturizers or lotions my hair thrives. Shea butter just happens to be all I have access to at the moment.

Thanks for the tip though. ^_^

I just changed my current regimen last night.

At first, I was on the jheri juice challenge where I was moisturizing my hair everyday with Hawaiian Silky 14n1. I had been doing this for months. I also used S-Curl before using HS 14n1.

As of right now, my natural hair is straightened, and I've been thinking about keeping it straight for a while. My hair suffered single strand knots, tangles, matting, and breakage from moisturizing everyday. I think it's because my hair is extremely tightly coiled. It would get tougher each time to put my hair into a bun because of the dry matted roots that were forming, and I didn't want to wash it everyday just so I could get my hair into a bun. And I was tired of spraying moisturizer on my hair everyday trying to saturate every area of my hair....

So anyway...this is what I did last night:
Washed my hair with Mane n Tail Shampoo
Condition/detangle with Aussie Moist Conditioner under the waterflow from showerhead
Towel dried and put my hair in 8 fat twists (4 on each side)
Unravel one section at a time, apply Mane n Tail Conditioner, then blowdry with a ion ceramic blowdryer, then braid up the blowdried section
Once I finished blowdrying all 8 sections, I straightened my hair with a Chi flat iron (370 degrees) and applied Ultra Sheen Hair Dress to each section before flat-ironing.

^^^^^^ knots are becoming the bane of my existence!!! i so need help or their will be another chop!!! as you mentioned poohbear, I may be over moisturized as well

I really need a great S-curl mixture if anyone uses one

My favourite conditioners:

I like Le kair ( green or orange): it leaves my hair feeling conditioned and detangled. D&L cholesterol gives the same feeliing but it's more expensive and the texture is not thick enough.
I like Affirm 5in 1, even though I don't use it anymore.

Motions Moisture plus and Humecto do nothing for my hair.

I love shea butter ( I think everyone here knows that by now). I rarely use other pure oils on my hair, at least not consistently enough to comment on them .

My perfect moisturizer would be a cream version of S curl. I like the one I make a loot.

I am a 4a/4b mix (mostly 4b).

I use ORS Aloe Shampoo maybe once every two weeks-three weeks to really clean the scalp.

I detangle/co wash with random conditioners a couple of times per week. Currently using Suave Almond/Shea Butter conditioner. I've liked Aussie Moist and Infusium 23 in the past

I do a random Ayurveda treatment (amla/kalpi tone powders or henna) or another fancy treatment (cherry lola, caramel, coconut/lime relaxer, etc) pretty much whenever I feel like it which is usually every other week.

I deep condition weekly. I love Lustersilk Olive Oil, Africa's Best Organic Hair Mayonaise, and Aussie Moist 3 minute miracle. Sometimes I just mix a regular conditioner with olive oil and and egg.

I alternate between puffs, twists, and yarn braids. Right now my hair is blown out and I put it in a simple bun at the top of my head.

I don't know if this would help or not (currently in a weave), but when I take my install down and let my natural hair (4a) get some air, I usually wash my hair while in braids. I braid my hair..usually 6 to 8 big braids and wash and deep condition my hair that way.

After shampooing my hair while braided, I'll take each braid apart, add conditioner - Avalon Humecto - and drinch my hair with that and seal that off with coconut oil, braid hair back up and let it deep condion that way. Then, I would rinse while my hair in braids. If there is some conditioner left on my hair, it's ok, because it's a moisturizing conditioner, and then I would apply more coconut oil to my hair and let it air dry.

Single strand knots, etc are non existent for me using this method.

Hope this helped.

are u doing the crown & glory method?

thinking of backing up to my original plan & adopting you and Nonie's hair routine

For the most part, I am. But I modify and I switch up my styles a lot to keep from getting bored. Box braids and cornrows are my staples though.

Helloooo!!

My current Regimen:

I don't normally use shampoos, but I will consider using a sulfate-free shampoo with a pre-poo method consisting of Walnut Oil [Ceramide challenge 2010], castor oil and Aubrey Organics Conditioner. I will shampoo my hair once every two weeks and clarify with ACV/oil rinse once a month. I will mask at least once a month [Avocado/egg/evoo/honey mix]. Protective hairstyles 3/4 of each month, allotting myself [after the HYH challenge 2010] maybe 3-4 "out" days a month. Before twisting my hair, I will detangle ends with Aphogee Provitamin Leave-in and an oil of choice and before bed, I will rake my hair with Cantu shea butter grow strong strengthening treatment and seal my ends with walnut oil [ceramide challenge 2010]. No tight ponies or puffs. Vitamins: GNC Hair Skin and Nails, Flax Seeds

Evallusion, I just realized that you have a lot of hair on your head

I am about 4 months post BC and my pictures after 4 months look nothing like yours. I'm gonna have to step up my game and take better care of my hair. I didn't think that type of growth was possible. My length is probably less than half of your current length.

Vitamin's:
One a Day Women's
Nature Valley Hair Skin Nails
Nature Valley Garlic pills (for shedding)

Once Daily:
Moisturize (Night):
Silk Elements Silken Child Creme Moisturizer
Wrap Hair and sleep on Satin pillow

Alternate washes with moisture and protein:
Wash Day - moisture:
Clarify with Suave Daily Clarifying (concentrating on roots)
Condition with Vo5 Moisture Milks Passion Milk Smoothie

Megatek Rebuilder on scalp on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Relax Every 12-14 weeks:

My regimen - When Im not in weave:

Wash hair once per wk w/ CV poo bar (luv honey butter and marshmallow)
or Clarify as needed with Bentonite Clay (luv it) or KC Come Clean
Oil Rinse with rice bran oil or peanut oil
Detangle with a moisturizing condish such as Natures Gate or Yes to Cucumbers
Massage my scalp with Castor Oil (I really need some JBCO in my life!)
Deep Condition w/ HV Sitrinillah or SheaMoisture Deep Treatment (w/ heat 30 mins, w/out 30 mins or longer)
Leave in: water/glycerine, KCKT or KBB Hair milk, seal with coconut oil, then add sheamoisture milk - so its a 4 step leave in process that I also use when I baggy as well...makes my hair soooo soft.
If my relaxed ends are feeling weak I use SSI Seyani Butter.
For styling I luv Donna Marie lock and twist pudding, I use it to set my braid outs.
