BSL+ Ladies.. How Do Men React To Your Hair??

I just noticed how many people have read this thread, me included. AND we always say we do things for ourselves, not for men, we don't care about their opinion at the end of the day.
Biggest lie ever? (LOL)

My hair at the longest point is grazing BSL. I have gotten nothing but positive reactions from BM...from ANY man really. They always run their fingers through my hair and I LOVE IT! Never get mad...unless their hand is dirty!! LMBO! I like people rubbing my hair and saying its soft and and smells good and what have you. And in the bedroom...okay - that's another story! But I get approached WAY MORE when my hair is down than when it is up! Especially when it's windy! ;-)

What I DON'T like is when people tell me I'm only pretty because my hair is long! That is not cool. Like men will also tell me that I am prettier than my sisters because I have "good hair" and its long...me and my sisters look just alike but have different texture hair. Your hair texture and length does NOT make someone prettier than someone else! Ugh!! That's that ignorance that I can't stand.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents........

The fellas LOVE my hair! Can't get enough of my good stuff lmao :)

Men, with the exception of my husband, don't pay attention to my hair. I'm MBL when pressed and only been weave checked once by a family member. I'm sure most people think I'm rocking a weave and just don't give it another thought. The only thing that matters to me is that my husband loves it. He goes out of his way to tell me how beautiful it is and I find it really sweet!

I mean as hair "obsessed" as I am as a woman I can only imagine if I were a guy things wouldn't change for me lol. I would want my girlfriend/wife to have long/healthy/fly hair too. So I can understand men wanting their girlfriends/wives to have long/healthy/fly hair because dammit it looks good! Let’s keep real! But I would never put her down (if i was a dude) or any other black women who didn't have it.

Being a woman with long healthy hair...its like icing on a cake, a glaze on a honey ham, Frank's Hot Sauce on some home fried chicken...you get my drift! It don’t make you more or less of a woman it’s just an extra "condiment" that just adds that much more flavor to your already delectable deliciousness that makes you, YOU! *looks*

Long hair on a black woman is like seeing a black man from the hood with his pants pulled up with a belt on...you know it exist, you just ain't never seen it, and when you do see it you are in AWE!

Love this...Well said!!

for the most part, (sigh) I'm bunning til waistlength. which is hopefully...around august, so bunning, i just get texture praises. when its down...smh. they come out from behind bushes, trashcans...its like they smell aussie moist and maxiglide in the air. its like i go from "pretty mixed girl" to video vixen inn their eyes.
however, i plan to straighten my hair soon. the so is playing games. i'm straightening and heeling it up tonight to "drop off his things" after a fight (def his fault)
he hasn't seen my hair down since nov. should b inching towards mbl
 i expect los of apologies n some foaming at the mouth

I think most assume it's a weave but I've had a few that asked if it was all mine. When I said yes, then they go into the whole are you mixed?, can I touch it? grining and whatnot.

Now SO..he loves it! He said I made him despise weaves and he'll be devastated if I ever cut it. Yes, he's one of those who kind of brags about my hair being real and long and my knowledge of hair care. And whenever we're doing our thang, he just LOVES to um....pull on it :look::eyebrows2

I have a guy friend who always asks me, "is your hair getting longer?" whenever I see him. He's always so excited and insists I keep growing it out to give me that extra "swag" :look:

Only Mexican guys come out and say my hair is pretty/nice and it's always when I'm wearing a braidout.

 ....

My hair's not BSL, but it's close (and will be even closer once I get a dose of the creamy crack...Since August, I've learned that I don't have time for natural right now. Maybe one day.) Anyway...they always want to touch it/run their fingers through it/anything that involves feeling it lol And I always love the reaction when they ask if it's weave and I can proudly say no :) Then I got em hooked lol

Girl, when were you almost WL? I've only seen short on you.
Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!

My mom has those and she won't tell me where they are! :lachen: I haven't had hair that long since the 90s. All I ever did with it was wear a dull pony tail. Only on special occasions did I wrap it and wear it because I was very active in school sports back in those days. Sorry, but you'll probably have to wait another 3-5 years with my current TWA stage.:giggle: Each time I relax, I get to shoulder level and BC. I believe that only took me 6 months to get there. I have never gotten past being 6 months natural before relaxing, except this time. I retain a lot of my growth each time I relax and BC. I could have probably reached WSL if I remained natural or relaxed for longer than a 2-3 year period. That is my goal, at least, for now.

I get some positive reactions, but quite honestly, most men are surprised that it is real... especially when I put black rinses on it.

One guy in particular told me that I have that "Victoria's Secret" hair. I guess he meant that it is sexy...

That even made my mom laugh!

Well, I rarely wear my hair down, but when I do, most men just stare. I also get the occasional, "you got alotta hair!"

When it's down, they usually stop and try to speak to me at length. When it's up in a bun, they are more polite and less "forward”.

I was at the beach a couple of summers ago and chit-chat turned into a 6-7ish hour conversation about a myriad of things. The conversation was all clean and polite until my hair fell from the up-do it was in. He then asked, “Is that ALL yours. Can I touch it?” I let him, then he just blurted out, “ I bet you like to have that _hit pulled during sex.”:look:

::CROW SCREETCH!::

I'm at MBL, and I've noticed a variety of reactions from men (and women too), including stares with mouth open, stares with grinning, and verbal compliments.
