What have you learned about your natural hair through your journey?
I'll share:

When I was younger my mother kept my hair in a relaxer and one day just decided to quit my hair all together. You already know it broke off in the worst way but then there was my natural hair...:ohwell: Lol I couldn't even put this joint into a pony tail without curls sticking out all over lol, I seriously looked a mess!

Since then I've learned that I DO NOT have BAD hair, it just takes a lot of TLC to keep it in check. Like now how I am transitioning AGAIN I learned that I MUST cowash at least every other day or it will get so dry and shrink into a ball of yarn on top of my head Lol. I also learned that my hair loves water and protein, all it takes is a few sprays to detangle which is great seeing as how I'm financially challenged. Enough about my hair tho....Tell me more about yours!

I've learned that all hair is good hair especially when it's well maintained.

I've learned that for me my natural hair texture is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY easier to maintain than any kind of straight style.

I've learned that all those curly styles I tried to get as a kid I had all along and then some!

I have learned that education is KEY to any kind of HHJ.

I've learned that it's my hair so keep your issues off of it!!!

Lastly, since starting my journey, I've learned how to make soap, knit, crochet, and now I'm learning HTML and CSS and it is all due to me starting this journey!

i've learned that:
my natural hair is way prettier than my relaxed hair.
my natural hair lays down better than my relaxed hair.
my natural edges are always on point...when i had a relaxer i barely had edges & they were the roughest part of my hair
my natural hair is way easier to maintain than my relaxed hair
my hair products dont have to cost over $5 to work well
i dont need that many hair products...and alot of mine are edible lol
water, aloe & honey are my hair besties...
i can stretch WnGs for a week if i want to, but my hair is so much more happier if i dont go past 3 days without cowashing
even in the same style, my natural hair will never look exactly like someone elses...cant say that for relaxed hair
i've learned not to obsess over length or curl definition and just focus on hair health
conditioner and water can fix a multitude of hair woes.

So much....
How to comb it, care for it, style it, wash it, how its different from my relaxed hair, and despite my "back and forth" over it sometimes I love it.

I've learned that:

*my new growth is fabulous! I can't stop touching it.

*my hair craves water and conditioner.

*my hair is a lot thicker than I thought when I had relaxed hair.

*natural hair is a lot more versatile than relaxed hair

*I love the scent of freshly-cleaned hair.

*I can manage two textures of hair, :lachen:, without tears shedding.

*keep my regimen simple and to not jump at every new item out there.

*I look better with my transitioning hair than my relaxed hair.

* I can manage three textures: natural, texlaxed and bone-straight relaxed hair

*My hair loves protein

* Aloe vera juice is great for my curls and waves

* I loves me some BIG HAIR!

* Kinky twists are a cute style for me and when I take them down, it reveals more, pretty natural hair growing out!

Now that I've opened all of my Christmas presents, I'm all on LHCF (waiting for the ham to finish baking) and here's what I've learned:

My hair loooooves moisture, but I'm still not sure how it feels about protein

I don't have a hair type; my hair type is healthy, that's what really matters

I love my hair...

Oh my that sounds intense! Care to share the secrets? Lol

I have learned so far:

- How to style my hair better than my last stylist. I've also managed to retain more length than ever before.

- My hair loves being on a low or no heat diet.

- A little babying goes a long way to helping me reach my goals.

- The right products help my fine hair look healthy thus allowing it to heal itself.

- JBCO and Vatika are GREAT products for my hair. It loves both and can't seem to get enough. :lick: The biggest proof - several times during the summer I forgot to "seal" my hair with my oils, yet, because I was consistent with night time usage, my hair was shiny and did not dry out.
