I love them. I usually use them on relaxed , airdried hair. The curls are bouncy and last for days.

I actually forund my caruso steamer at the thrift store and payed $4.99 so you may want to check some local thrift stores. Check e bay too.

I love them. If you make sure the hair is dry before you take them out you should not get the frizz. I usely roll and then wrap and they work great.

I was JUST thinking about these and then I see this thread...I guess it was meant to be..will be at Sally's after work (lol)....

It actually doesn't! I love them and they work great on natural hair--flat ironed or not.:yep:

Do you blow dry straight? And how straight do you get with your blow dry?

I kinda want my hair big with curls... I'm a fine haired girl so I'm trying to avoid the flat iron (I don't even own one )

I love them on my natural hair! It's such a quick no heat style. I've only done it on flat ironed hair, but I'd love to blow dry and give it a try. I know my hair would be huge.

Caruso set on flat ironed hair (so much easier than a roller set)

Naturals: are you using them on air-dried hair?
I've only recently tried them on air dried hair and I was pleasantly surprised. The curls are not as defined, though.

I suck at blow drying--it always looks like a big fro at the end. Furthermore, I'm not that good at flat-ironing. What I love about Caruso rollers is that even when humidity gets to my hair and it starts to puff, the curls stay, so I get big, curly hair.

Starting point--post blow dry:

Love them! I've been using these since the 90's:blush: when they first came out. The state I lived in was very dry climate-wise so, I could set my hair Sunday and not have to do anything to it until Friday! DDs were very young then so time was uber precious. Now I use them on partially air dried hair before I banana clip and finger comb for an extra full pony or whenever I want lush big curls. The steam is just the right amount to help my hair be moisture balanced.

I LOVE my Carusos! I use them on flat ironed hair and blow dried hair. I'm natural - as long as you dont leave them on the steam unit too long and let them dry completely (I try to keep in for at least an hour so the curls hold longer) you should be fine. I will never use a curling iron again.

Hated em! Those things made my hair frizzy as all get out. Then the machine stopped working. I used it for facials til it broke.

Alright ladies ive given up ive bought them as soon as i get them i plan to do a test run before i take them on my cruise/

Ediese and Berryblack i love your hair, you guys were giving me LIFE with those pictures thank you so much. Your hair pictures were amazing. When my hair grows up i hope its just like yours..lol.

Im relaxed but my hair is under processed in some areas so its curly and straight...

For the Texlaxed/Natural how straight do you get your hair????

I love my Caruso. Since I don't like others using my styling tools I bought DD her own set last week.

I LOVED my caruso, at least when I was relaxed.

Now that I'm natural it just sits in the closet.

I'm trying to avoid heat for a year and I think my hair would just laugh if I tried to do anything with air dried hair.

@alive: girl you right, i amgoiing to buy them lol...imjust trippn over the price..

Anyone who didnt like theirs want to sell?..lol.

Alot of peoples hair got frizzy
, im a little afraid because my hair is underprocessed some areas straight some areas..and i dont want to blowdry my hair straight, put these on and it frizzes it bak up..hmmm..lol.

I think the trick to eliminating frizz is not to leave the rollers on the steamer for more than 5 seconds, you can also steam the caps and I do that for about 2 seconds. I may be trial and error at first and I depending on how full you want your curls you can blow dry and curl or flat iron first and then curl. Check out Gabanagirls (sp?) post, her hair is fabulous using the caruso or youtube they have a lot of tutorials

I haven't used Caruso's since the mid 90's when I was relaxed. If I remember correctly a pinch of salt was added to the water to help create the steam. I wouldn't mind trying these again as a natural.

I just bought and used my Caruso set yesterday. I wasn't too happy with the results, but I know what I did wrong. I waited too long before blowdrying my hair, so it was puffy to begin with. Next time, I'll blow dry straight out of the shower like I normally do, so my hair is smooth before the rollers go on. That, or I'll blowdry/flat iron and then use the Carusos. I think they'll be great if I do it that way.

Oh, I'm natural.

And you don't need salt with them anymore!

Girl I love them. Had the unit for 2 yrs with no problem. Never had a problem with frizzy hair, mind you my hair is frizzy before I rollerset/flat iron. The steam from the rollers actually makes my hair feel moisturized! I like to use this with Bee Mines Luscious Cream moisturizer. Curls come out bouncy, shiney and alive! Love it!!!

My hair is cut really short right now(pixie), but I love my Caruso's when I have "hair". I used them on my 12 yr old niece the other day, she has a bob, they made her hair so bouncy, full, and shiny, not to mention soft! I love them. When I'm in hair grow mode they keep me from using heat, its instant style in a few minutes!!

The biggest thing to frizz free hair is:
1. Only leave the roller on the unit for 5 secs. Any longer and to me its too wet.
2. Make sure you roll the ends of the hair really well on the roller, make sure the are flat and detangled

Good luck!

Okay...I bought and tried them out last night...(couldn't wait and no, I don't have any pics.. :) ) ...I only tried them out on some of my hair. I LOVE IT!!!

If you follow the directions you shouldn't have any problems. I have baby fine hair so when I set my hair - I did use the end papers and I left the roller on the steam thingee for about 3- 5 seconds - I didn't use the "covers" that came with the rollers - I used my roller clips/clasps - it took a little maneuvering but I was able to get them in there ( I will have practice with those covers so that I don't get that "roller crease")

This post is right on time! I rollerset my hair every week, but
my hair ends up flat after three days. This would be great after I co-wash and airdry or after my rolletset flattens out.....

I may have to splurge for these and a steamer next week...a gift to myself for getting promoted at work!
