So as i was watchin this video and as i was watchin it, i heard her say "Im from a mixed family so i guess that gives me a little bit of that good textured hair. That allowed it to grow really long"

 Yea i know there is a word outside of LHCF but still damnit... i don't approve of these words...

Besides the stupidity of the term "good hair", I LMAO @ Black folks who want to bring up their "mixed" heritage from 8 generations ago but still obviously have afro-textured hair.

Did she just say that she grew her dreads because 'she's of mixed heritage'? bwahahaaa!!!

she is delusional! lol she has afro textured hair lol annnnnnddddddd its dreaded lol. No 1 is attributing her hair to her "mixed-ness"

:wallbash: But it's locs ........ LOCS ........ no one needs a "good texture" to grow locs. Anyone can not comb their hair. SMH. Guess you gotta be mixed - or at least CLAIM to be - before you do any hairstyle these days.

:lachen: She's playin' right? I don't think she got the memo. Good hair is healthy hair.

And her edges are scary :nono: They're half-way to Mexico. The rest of her might want to catch up :lachen:

*one of the comments said she had a see through scalp! lol! :lachen:

she claiming she's of mixed heritage everybody and they mama is of mixed heritage in the US and other parts of the world included.

Yeah I saw that comment too, it had me rolling. LOL

The comments there are funny people are going in on her. Her mixed raceness from "8 generations ago" :giggle: allowed her to grow really long hair really fast  jut about every Black person in the Americas has the same mixed background as you babes.

I hope she was joking. Her edges are gone too. I wonder how come though. The rest of her hair is thick. Since when do you need to have "good textured" hair to grow locs long? Whatever... She's from the Caribbean, she knows that. If she's happy with her hair, I'm happy...

I still say that all African Americans are "mixed." Some more than others, but using that as a criteria to categorize us is false.

On that heritage show with Emmitt Smith, the lady said the purest African genetic line she'd found was in the low 80s.

We are a separate ethnic group from anyone from the COUNTRY of Africa. :) As are the separate ethnic groups across different areas of Africa.

(This post contains chaos butterfly bait.) :)

^^^Is that a typo? Or am I reading it wrong? Or is this for the 'chaos butterfly bait' that you speak of? lol *confused*

I couldn't even focus on what she was saying. I am not usually a big fan or locs nor am I against them, but her head was just :barf:

Is she one of those ppl who go around touting that they're "mixed" b/c they're "West Indian/Caribbean and Black?" (like it's some kind of new race)

As far as I'm concerned, and this is being West Indian myself, I've never seen anyone with short locs unless they're just starting out. They were just proof to me that hair could grow if you kept it simple.

Actually, my cuz's ex-husband has locs longer than hers and they look much nicer...but lemme be nice..."OoOo, nice clarity in the video! Is that an HD camera?"

It looks her locs are so heavy it's pulling her hair out from the root. Oh no, it looks so unhealthy.
