I still say that all African Americans are "mixed." Some more than others, but using that as a criteria to categorize us is false.

On that heritage show with Emmitt Smith, the lady said the purest African genetic line she'd found was in the low 80s.

We are a separate ethnic group from anyone from the COUNTRY of Africa. As are the separate ethnic groups across different areas of Africa.

As far as I'm concerned, and this is being West Indian myself, I've never seen anyone with short locs unless they're just starting out. They were just proof to me that hair could grow if you kept it simple.
