Yeah I saw that comment too, it had me rolling. LOL

The comments there are funny people are going in on her. Her mixed raceness from "8 generations ago" :giggle: allowed her to grow really long hair really fast  jut about every Black person in the Americas has the same mixed background as you babes.

thank you, my family is from Trinidad also and I wouldn't dare say some mess like that.

I hope she was joking. Her edges are gone too. I wonder how come though. The rest of her hair is thick. Since when do you need to have "good textured" hair to grow locs long? Whatever... She's from the Caribbean, she knows that. If she's happy with her hair, I'm happy...

Maybe her locs are just too heavy and it pulls the hairs from the edges/scalp. I would gather she keeps them up and wrapped and if that is the case, the weight has to be pulling something fierce. :ohwell:

Either way, the comment was a 'girl..pluh-ease' moment if nothing more. Do you boosky...do you! But why not just say--- I kept it simple?? Saying I grew my hair because I am from mixed heritage/race discounts what we try to disprove...that HAIR can grow-- no matter the race...

Random thoughts about the video:

Eeek.

If I was her, I'd want to cut that really long one. :perplexed

Edges need a little work. Amazing. lol

I think that the locs themselves actually look good though... if they were an even length, they'd look better.

As for the mixed race comment... nothing surprising. Aint the first time I've heard it and won't be the last. :nono:

She's ignorant...but then nothing wrong with being of mixed heritage no matter where it is in the blood line lol....to attribute it to being mixed lol wow...

I have nothing nice to say about her hair so ummm yeah, I`m just gonna shut up.

Why is one soooo much longer than the rest. That bothered me, I wanted to cut it.

I can imagine the weight of those things are what wreaked havoc on her scalp and edges. Makes my head hurt.

ive been hearing about more and more people saying things like this.... are there THAT many ignorant people put there?

Yes. It comes in various forms too.

Maybe ignorance really is bliss. You don't have to think too hard about anything.

Personally, I didn't find her comment all that surprising. A lot of older people, and even younger people feel that a "better grade of hair" is afforded to those of mixed heritage. Not only that, but many black people like to try and dilute their own blackness by claiming to be of mixed heritage. I mean let's face it people, those longstanding ideals of black hair, complexion and beauty, (and we all know what they are) are still very real and just as prevalent as ever.

When I hear people say things like that I just shake my head and keep it moving.

That is soo true..

My great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandmother was Irish.

:lachen: and the funny thing is about people claiming their white roots is that the origin of man is black :yep:. So they were black from the very beginning and they're STILL black :lachen:

well, people believe what they can see. i can understand why she believes her hair grows long because of a looser texture. ♥

:lachen: She's playin' right? I don't think she got the memo. Good hair is healthy hair.

And her edges are scary :nono: They're half-way to Mexico. The rest of her might want to catch up :lachen:

someone in a crowd yells: "oh snap!!, no she didnt!!" and the crowd goes: "OHHHhh!!"
:lachen:
