QUESTION: for those that use heat (ie: blowdry), what comes first- the leave-in, or the heat protectant? :scratchch

^^^I would personally say the leave in first then heat protectant, so as the heat protectant can act as a sealant...

I personally apply leave ins, serum and rollerset.

After My DC Treatment:grin::

Rinse
Apply 1 Vial of Ceramides let sit
Rinse
Apply Porosity Control Product as per the instructions *currently using Nexxus Ensure*
Rinse w/Cold Water
Apply Leave In and a little Argan Oil
Dry under Dryer about 80%

After I DC, I usually squeeze dry, moisturize with Cantu (or elasta qp mango butter) and then seal with coconut oil, and braid up, twist up or bun up my hair and allow it to air dry.

Wow, Porosity Control is getting a lot of love from LHCF

  • Depending on what I deep conditioned with, I may quickly condition with something else in the shower for slip, shine, etc. OR I may do a glazing treatment. Haven't done one in a while since I've been experimenting with Skala :drunk:
  • Blot with towel
  • Apply spray leave-in
  • Apply blow dry/styling cream
  • Blow dry with hot air brush
  • Apply serum
  • Flat iron
  • Add a little bit of other serum
All of my current deep conditioners say to use them after shampooing--Sometimes I do technically shampoo after deep conditioning if you count my pre-poo as deep conditioning.

Am I the only who shampoos her hair after she deep conditions?

I'm a follower of instructions and the DCs I use all say to shampoo. So I shampoo, then after I rinse, I condition with a regular conditioner, then I ACV rinse...and call it a day.

If wearing my hair out, I will apply S Curl after the ACV rinse, otherwise I don't apply anything at all.

:hiya:Hi, Nonie!!! If I happen to DC on dry hair, then I shampoo afterward.

After I DC, I:

-Rinse & apply KBB deep condish (it functions like a regular rinse-out condish)
-Rinse & apply PC

Then, if it's summer or spring, I:
-Apply JC leave-in & JC Nourish & Shine & twist

If it's fall or winter, I:
-Apply JC leave-in & JC Hair Nourishing Cream & twist

wash out DC with cold water
Grab some V05 SandC Moisture Milk, and detangle
wash out
Put Cantu leave-in/shea butter (I've yet to find a serum to seal....)
style (braid/twistout)

I've noticed that majority of you don't detangle...so am I doing too much to my hair???

After I deep condition, I rinse it out then I towel dry my hair. After towel trying, I apply leave in conditioner and let it air dry. When it's completely dry, I apply coconut oil onto my scalp and I moisturize and seal my hair. If it's still early, I let it hang and if it's time for bed, I braid it so it wont become tangled. I put on my silk scarf and go to sleep.

Apply a leave-in conditioner (sometimes it's my deep conditioner again Cholesterol other times its KCB) and the I seal with S-Curl Moisturizing Spray. Then I re-braid my hair.

  • Add a rinse-out conditioner if the DC doesn't have much slip.
  • Detangle with a wide tooth comb then the denman.
  • Braid in about 8 sections so my hair doesn't get tangled while rinsing out.
  • Rinse.
  • Add leave-ins and heat protectant (if I'm going to blow dry).
  • Blow dry (sometimes).

1. Rinse with a mixture of tea and honey
2. Add my leave in conditioners
3. Add my ORS and Mango Butter
4. Seal with Cocasta oil
5. Make one single braid or twist at the nape
6. Tie with satin scarf

after I DC and rinse. I apply leave in then Chi Mist/Aphogee Green Tea then I blow dry, and style w/o extra heat usually.

I apply rollers or twist it up!

rinse out, towel dry, apply ORS Olive Oil Lotion, and twist in medium-large twists.
OR
rinse out, towel dry, apply BB Oil Moisturizer to all my hair and clear Ampro gel to my edges, brush edges lightly with a boar-bristle brush, and put on clips/headband/ponytail holder.

ETA: I normally detangle in the shower after shampooing and just before I deep condition.

...Sometimes leave it in for a whole day before I rinse it out. I usually DC after I shampoo my hair and since I've just taken a shower I wait to rinse it out il the next time I take a shower. But, when I have rinsed it out, I usually let it airdry in twists or braided pig tails with some conditioner on the ends. When the hair in semi dry I seal with cocnut oil.

Rinse it out, apply my regular conditioner, rinse it out, use PC (only if I'm shampooing), rinse it out, t-shirt dry, apply leave-ins, seal

Love., Why do you apply Roux only if you're shampooing? Could it be b/c shampoo raises the cuticles while if co-washing the cuticles are sealed?

I DC'ed on dry hair this weekend
Rinse
Wash with condish
Rinse/detangle and re-twist
Apply Roux PC on sections (sometimes untwist and apply)
Apply moisturizer (Hawaiian Silky these days)
Sometimes apply oil if I remember but I prefer my whipped shea butter as a leave-in moisturizer.

Finger detangle, cold water rinse. Apply leave in (usually some type of conditioner), scrunch ends with castor oil or burdock root butter cream or almond glaze, blot with Curls Like Us cloth, and gel. Airdry partially and diffuse, or airdry all the way.

If Im airdrying:

1. Put on my turbie twist for about 10-15 minutes
2. Apply leave-ins
3. Detangle
4. Scarf hair line while the length hangs straight to dry

If I'm rollersetting:

1. squeeze out access water
2. Apply leave-ins
3. Detangle
4. Section & Roll
5. Dry under bonnet dryer for about 2 hrs

I rinse with cool/cold water, I than gently place a towel on my hair (no rubbing). I then use my leave ins and blow dry (well my mother does it :look: lol now that my hair is healthy and lush she always wants to do it so I don't stop her :lachen:) and then I cornrow the back and lightly flat iron the front...... then I put on my half wig! I lightly oil every night with Shea oil and I'm good for the week!
