Anyone use just the relaxer? i think the neutralizing shampoo and conditioner doesnt work well for me. i love the relaxer on its own alone. Anyone had this problem? And what products are u using in replace of the shampoo and conditioner?

thanks alot in advance

Hi SC -

I just use the relaxer -

I use Motions Neutralizer, Redken Deep Fuel for Mid-Step (but any reconstructor should be fine) - for my conditioner after relaxing - it varies - L'occitane Aromachologie Repairing Mask, Nexxus Humectress, Silicon Mix, Silicon Mix Bambu (I could go on - but I like to use a moisturizing conditioner after neutralizing)

HTH

did u have problems with the shampoo and conditioner?

Which neutralizing poo are you using? I am using the Mizani PHormula 7 poo, and for my strands, this is the best neutralizing poo I have ever used! I also purchased the botanifying regular shampoo,:nono: and I found it to be way too drying. I know Mizani has several lines of shampoos and conditioners to choose from. I hated paying $27.00 for that huge bottle of neutralizing poo, but I am so glad I did! It is so moisturizing, and doesn't leave my hair stripped. For now, I am using just 2 Mizani products, the Mizani BB relaxer, and the neutralizing poo on my texlaxed strands. Keep experimenting, to find out what your hair likes.
ETA: In place of the Mizani regular shampoo, I use Giovanni 50/50, Smooth as Silk, or any Aubrey Organics shampoo. I use my regular Biolage DC mix with oils and conditioners when I need to do a DC or condition my hair. HTH!

I used the neutralizing shampoo and that "mist" conditioner before (in salon) and I just feel that it is marketing ploy to stay within the product line. I didn't really care for the conditioner - it didn't seem to have that "ummph" that look for in conditioners...

Honestly - it is just a marketing ploy to stay within the same product line (which is recommended in most cases) but IMO it is not necessary for this relaxer.

You might want to try the Phormula7 neutralizing poo-it doesn't have the color indicator suds, but it is a very smooth thick clear shampoo that has an aloe vera gel consistency, is silky smooth and suds like crazy! If you already have a fav neutralizing poo, I'm sure you could use that one when you relax next. I would imagine that you don't have to use Mizanni products exclusively with this relaxer.
I love that Mizani BB too!:yep:

I just use the Relaxer, I use Silk elements Neautralizing Shampoo, the relaxer is expensive enough, and it worked just great. I too Love MBB!! My scalp don't tingle or itch or feel tight and the Relaxer Smell does not linger on your hair, well at least not mine LOL!

With My Mizani Butter Blends I use:grin::

Isoplus Color Coded Alarm System Neutralizing 'Poo.

For my Mid-Protein Step, I'll use: Tigi Dumb Blonde, Redken Deep Fuel, Joico K-Pak, Sebastain Penetraitt or something like that.

For my Conditioner: Lamaur Bone Marrow, Alfaparf Real Cream, or something Moisturizing.:yep:

Wow...am I the only one using the entire Butter Blends system with all the components???:perplexed

That's not a bad thing - is it? I love that stuff:ohwell:

Nope you're not the only one. I also use the full line, but only when relaxing.

I use the Mizani Butter Blends Relaxer, Phormula 7 Neutralizing & Cheating Shampoo and Mizani Butter Blends Perphecting Creme Normalizing Conditioner and they are great. I also LOVE Mizani Moisturfuse Moisturizing conditioner, but it cost too much for me to consistently apply like a relaxer so I DC with SE Megasilk Olive on dry hair twice a week instead.
