i am a 3c4a and i really like the daily leave in and the peace hydrating milk. the milk is kinda thick and reminds me of carols daughter milk the way it defines and plumps the curl. i have the madagascar vanilla cream but havent used it in so long i dont know what i think of it. i do love the smell though.
and i hated the coil gelly. made my hair a hard crunchy mess.

I just bought the Peach Kernel and the Madagascar Vanilla Cream. I haven't received them yet but I'm excited!

I like those two also! Im a 4b something loving the fact that the leave in conditioner is really light not leaving the coated feeling. Here's an older thread on it with more reviews http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=392630&highlight=darcy+botanicals

I used the Coconut Cream before going swimming the other day with the vanilla cream although I dont normally do the waxes this cream was really nice! Hair responded to it well after all not sticky/hard very soft.

Spill the beans ladies! Any of my fellow type 4 naturals try these products?

http://darcysbotanicals.com/

:lick:The curiousity is killing me:lick:

We are on the same page, because I've been stalking these products for the past couple days. I'm really tempted to get the New Daily Leave-In, Madagascar Vanilla Creme, and the Peach Kernel Hair Milk...

I'm stuck between waiting for Qhemet's sale, or just going ahead and trying Darcy's right now.

I'm waiting for that sale too!

I know this thread is a month old but I did not want to start a new one. I recently purchased darcy's botanicals (received 2 wks ago) and I purchased for me and my dd. I have the coconut hibiscus oil and papaya nectar leave in and she has juicy peach nectar; oil and leave in co. and avocado and wild plum twisting cream. All of my products are light weight and non greasy. The scents are divine except for the twisting cream, it doesn't have a scent. In my order, I received a cherry kernal oil (as a thank you gift)....LOVELY.
A little accident happened. My dd's peach oil dripped allllll out, I wrote to Darcy's Botanicals explaining the situation and maybe in future to they should use the disc cap bottle rather than the pump bottle for future customers. Ladies, let me tell you, I just received a packaged today from DB...my oil I had ordered for my dd....she sent me a new bottle in a disc cap bottle. I thought that was genuinely thoughtful and kind of DB. I know DB really care for it's customers and the feedback we give.

That is wonderful customer service.

I wanna try the daily leave-in and deep conditioner sooo bad...cant wait to use up my current overflowing stash so I can order new stuff lol

I have the curl detangling milk in the papaya nectar scent and I like it. I use it to refresh my second-day twistout. It moisturizes quite well.

I'm transitioning and I tried the Peach Kernel oil. It smells great, but it did nothing for my hair. I was hoping to use it as a sealant, but I did not get good results. I have the deep conditioning mask, and my new growth loves it. My hair is so moisturized after using this product and it makes my new growth very curly. I highly recommend it.

I tried the Avocado & Honey Twisting Cream(glycerin), the Avocado and Wild Plum Twisting Cream and the Natural Coils Curling Jelly.

The cream worked well, it was moisturizing. I didn't really like the smell of it though. It wasn't a bad smell, just not one that I favor. The curling jelly gave my hair a shine, that's about it lol. I tried it on my mom's hair (thin hair type 4) and it gave her nice definition. She also tried using the cream, the one with glycerin worked better for her hair than the one without. The one without weighed her hair down. I was the opposite.

Overall, the products work well. I wouldn't buy again though. I like to have staple products that I can find in stores.

I'm a lurker, but I'd like to give my input. FYI, I'm 4b with coils that wrap around themselves (knots and tangles, mess). My hair was a mess when dry, but I got it under control now and Darcy's products have worked better for me since then.

Other stats that might be helpful for other type 4's since we're not all the same: My hair loves aloe vera and castor oil, doesn't really appreciate coconut oil much, is blah about olive oil, and detest shea butter. S-curl was great at one point, but I don't like the smell too much.

Okay, on to Darcy's!

I've used the Peach Milk, Avocado and Plum (w/o Glycerine), and the Madagascar Vanilla Creme.

When my hair was at its driest state, I tried using Darcy's (all three) to see if it would help with the moisture. That was a fail. The product just sat on my hair and laughed. But, I got my porosity under control with a few products so it made using Darcy's a WHOLE lot better.

I love the smell of the Peach Milk. I haven't really done a full week test yet, so the verdict is still out on whether it's actually a good product now that my hair has turned around. But when my hair was practically a desert, this was the best product for me out of the three.

The Avocado/Plum smells more lemon like, but I don't mind it too much. It's been a gift for me as I have been twisting. I re-twist on dry hair and try to wash my twists braided up so I can cut down on the tangling. Thus, I do risk some matting, but the Avocado was able to work through that quite well when I rubbed the cream into the hair. I love its consistency. It's very creamy and sort of melts without being oily (I don't like oily products... too much dripping).

My Madagascar cream smells decent, but I love vanilla scents that are stronger and more fragrant. It doesn't smell like the typical vanilla scents out there in perfumes, lotions, or oils. I can't really describe the difference though. The consistency of the cream is rough. Like cookies and cream ice cream rough. There are bits and pieces that haven't congealed or melted, and the cream is a lot thicker than the Avocado/Plum. When I do rub the Madagascar in my hands, it's better, but I get paranoid that I'll have the bits in my hair.

I do like the cream as sealant before my castor oil is used since it cuts down on the castor oil smell and it DOES help keep my hair soft after I freshly wash/deep condition. I'm not sure if my cream is a bad batch or something (since some ingredients do go into a solid state at a certain temp), but I'm indecisive about purchasing this again right now.

I think I might update later on to see how well the products withstand the summer heat. So far, they have.

Recently Purchased the Daily Leave-In, the Pumpkin Seed Conditioner and a couple creams/butters. Will save the butter for Fall/Winter.:yep:

Haven't tried these yet, but hope I at least like 'some' of them.:perplexed

The Peach Kernel moisturiser is gorgeous. It leaves my hair soft and silky and the smell is divine. Will definitely repurchase.

My coconut and hibiscus oil is cloudy ONLY at the bottom. I'm not sure if it's due to the coconut settling or if it's growing anything at the bottom so for that oil, it's sitting in my closet with no intent to ever be used on my scalp.
The papaya nectar leave-in is nice. Unless I use a heavy glycerin base product the leave-in isn't as hydrating but the scent is divine...love the scent.
I even like my dd's juicy peach leave-in and oil. To get my dd's hair ultra soft and supple, I use a homemade mix after her leave-in co and oil has been applied. Now the Avocado and Plum twisting cream makes her hair feel NICE...I never used the twisting cream w/ her other 2 products but I shall to see what results I get...in the mean time...DB isn't all bad but it's not all great...except her Service which is by far the best when listening to her customers imo.

I've used several of her products with great results.

Pumpkinseed conditioner is simply wonderful!! It instantly softens my hair and smells great. I love how thick it is. I've used it for cowashing and dcing.

Madagascar Vanilla Cream is thick and has a light vanilla smell. You don't need to use a lot to get a nice shine and moisture. May be too heavy for those with fine strands.

Coconut butter pomade is nice for sealing after cowashing or twisting. It has a light coconut scent.

Coconut Cupuacu butter pomade smells like caramel. It's a hard butter that's great for sealing. It gives a really nice shine. I use it on my daughter's ponytails as well to keep them sleek and shiny. I bought it as a cheaper alternative to Jane Carter's Nourish and shine and I think it works well. The smell can get slightly annoying, but it works.

Coiling Jelly was very runny. I can't say that I gave it a fair try so I won't give an opinion on it.

Coconut and Aloe Moisture pudding was nice, but may be better suited for those with finer textures.

Overview of products ive tried from the line so far ladies...

Coconut Pomade - My hair hates straight coconut always leaves it crunchy, brittle and breaking sooooo that was a no no only use it now only on hands and feet.

Coconut Cupuacu Butter - LOVE IT! best slicker/shine/everything good...its great slicks down edges, braids, twists, puffs, buns like nobody's business, and the shine undescribable!...i will continue to buy this product for the rest of my life!

Madagascar Vanilla Pudding - it was okay as far as moisturising goes nothing too special faint smell...i don't think i would repurchase often

Juicy Peach and Winter Spice Oils - did nothing for my hair but wonderful skin moisturisers!

Avocado Twisting Cream - like most of you ladies have mentioned smells like lemons which i didn't mind much, at first i did not take to it because it didn't provide any shine but i gave it any chance and glazed it over with some cupuacu butter and my twistouts were AMAZING best definition!

Curling Custard - too much work overall!...you have to section hair in teeny tiny pieces and baby it to get some definition, took forever to dry and then when it finally did it had weird white chunks/ flakes, only worked well on the 3c curls in the back of my head!...wouldn't repurchase!

Daily Leave - Cappachino mixed with sweat cream upon my request decent smell, Tangy Citrus hated it can't stand whatever that scent was supposed to be uck - Great detangler, provides moisture for a few minutes then kinda dries out though, light weight, leaves hair soft, but provides little to no definition.

CUSTOMER SERVICE = AWESOME - Lysandra is the sweetest and most profressional very accommodating to your needs and requests!

The packaging alone makes me interested in these products. :giggle: I haven't tried them though so I can't help, OP.

Here are my 2 cents, forgive me I can be long-winded:

Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme : It works well for me. I'm transitioning, I did small twists so I can wear it in a low bun for like a week. It left my twists really moisturized. It does not give a strong hold, so if you're looking for that in a styler this is not that product. The smell is more like a liqueur -- it's okay, I don't hate it, I don't love it, it's fine.

Juicy Peach Kernel Oil - This was a sample I love this! It's got some weight to it and it smells like REAL peaches. Nice.

Daily Leave-in - This is fabulous! It leaves my hair moisturized without weighing it down. You don't need much. It has protein in it and I believe aloe vera and it works for me, that's amazing to me since I'm sensitive to both. I got the mint sugar cookie scent, ummm I don't love it, I don't hate it, it's just okay.

Coconut Cupuacu Butter Pomade - I really haven't had a chance to use this yet cause it's fairly new and I'm in braids. But I will say, I like this because it's more pomade as it says it is and not a grease. Grease is fine but I really wanted something thicker. Also, this smells frigging wonderful, I just want to lick it!!!! Omg I just love the way it smells. Smells like a dessert. :lick:

Herbal Tea Leave-In Spritz - Too new for me to really rate, but this is one of the only spritz that I've used that moisturized the first try. It also gives a nice shine, that shocked me. The smell is eh -- it's herbally and it has a patchouli thing going on which I could do without. But on first blush it seems to perform well so I think I'll deal with the smell and the ingredients are great. I like using a spritz as part of my regular routine for twist and braids so I"m looking for the "one" and so far this is leading the pack.

Deep Conditioning Mask - Used only once. I'm not heavy handed so I think this will last me more than most. It's expensive ($20, 8oz) but I plan on using this once a month and using my Sitrinillah weekly so this should last me a bit. It smells herbally and it sticks around a little bit. Don't like that but again if the performance is good I'll work with it. My hair was really, really, soft. Need to use this a few more times. It has a slick feeling, but it has bentonite clay in it, I wonder if that's how the clay makes your hair feel.

I have samples of natural coils curling jelly and avocado & honey twisting cream which I can't speak on because I need to use them.

Shipping - The website says give them 2-3 days after ordering to ship. Make that more like a week, my products usually take a week to ship.

Customer service - Excellent. At first, I thought we were going to have a problem cause my product didn't ship when it should have. It was 2-3 days late, and that lead to an email. Once she contacted me back which was like 2 days later she apologized, refunded me the purchase price for the daily-leave in and my shipping. I wasn't ignorant with her, there was no yelling, it was just a simple inquiry. She I believe went waaayyy above and beyond cause I wasn't irate, mad or anything but I appreciate that she did that.

Also, if you are used to contacting Hairveda, or Bee Mine, Qhement, even MHC, in my experience if you email them they hit you right back. it's crazy, sometimes I wonder how Tracey gets any work done she's so responsive. And one night BJ hit me back like 12:30 in the morning cause I was online trolling for hair products and I sent her an email. I guess she couldn't sleep either :yep: Anyway, I said all this to say Lysandra does not email right back but she usually gets back to me in 48 hours, and I can live with that.

I'm gonna stop talking now, HTH.....

Ooops ladies i done spoke too soon...just un-did one of my braids idk why just bored and missed my curls...it was feely a tad bit dry so i used some daily leave in and the coconut pomade was right on the side of me...so i said hey what the heck and as soon as i ran my fingers down...to my surprise my hair was soft silky and pretty well defined...i couldn't believe it...so then i twisted it up and waited to see what a twist out would be like...and voila perfects curl!

So in retrospect straight coconut anything is still a no no on my hair but mixed or paired with other products (only the daily leave in so far) can bring excellent results!!!

Almost three years ago, I got to participate in a swap and I got the madagascar vanilla cream. I had a brand new TWA at that time and I was still growing out my scab hair so I wasn't really pleased with how anything worked on my hair at the time, but it was great for use on my body and I used it up until I was rubbing my fingers around the inside of the jar. I just recently decided/remebered it again and am going to revisit it again. My package was delivered and I just have to pick it up!

I just used the coconut cupuacu butter and I am in love!! This is the best smelling hair product I have ever smelled in my life:love:. Mmmmm smells like toffee fudge:lick:. I just used it as a sealer over my glycerin and water spray as just plain coconut oil was too light. I really love this butter  I just wish the tub was bigger.

I am also Loving Darcy's Products. The Customer Service is Awesome.

I am currently using & loving:

The Lemon Coconut Transitioning Hair Cream
The Cherry Kernel Hair Nectar
The Peach Kernel Hair Milk
The Tucuma Hair Butter
The Eucalyptus & Mint Hair Butter

*recently purchased but have not tried*: The Shea Butter Hair Cream.

So far, my least favorite from this line has been the Herbal Spritz. I like Qhemet's Karkardy Tea much better. I recently purchased Njoi's Tea Spritz so I will compare it w/Qhemet.:yep:

Has anyone used the new Shea Butter Curl Moisturizing Cream yet?

I use her daily leave-in and while its nice, I like the thick stuff. And this new cream looks THICK.

Any reviews on it?

T please tell me what the Tucuma Butter is like, I'm really interested in purchasing this but I'm worried that it might be too heavy. I think it would be great to use in the winter though to keep my ends moist in my buns.

It is very, very nice.:lick:

It has a creamy/puddinging consistency if that makes sense, yet it's a butter. Not a solid at all.:nono:

It feels really nice.:yep: I used it after a fresh relaxer and I loved the way my hair handled it.

It was too heavy at all (for me). You just need a little on the fingertips. It was light enough and probably would work really great on the ends.

Me, being the heavy handed so & so that I am, blew right through that 4 ounce Jar.

I liked it that much. But I wish I would have taken my time with it and really enjoyed the jar.

I was about to do the same thing with the Eucalyptus & Mint Hair Butter, But I made myself, put it Up. :lachen:

It has a weird 'non smell' if that makes sense. Not really a smell at all sort-of but different.:perplexed

It's absolutely a great product.:yep:

I havent had any luck with this line ,Perhaps i ve tried the wrong products ,Whipped shea butter just sat on my hair i use it as a feet butter,Aloe Coconut moisturizing cream (i cant remember the exact name ) was hydrating but dried my hair out within a hour .Peach oil really didnt smell much of peaches or did anything special to my hair or skin. The Curl Creme Gel left my hair hard,so far I m not impressed .
With that said I d like to give it another chance so I will purchase the transitioning cream and pumpkin conditioner ,they both seem to be quite popular.
