I use Biolage Hydratherapie and Fortetherapie Cera Repair vials as fortnightly DC's. These are moisture and protein treatments respectively. This thread http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=442532&highlight=ceramides details lots of other products and oils that contain ceramides. I've also just started using Kukui nut oil to seal - it is great for the skin too.

I use Wheat germ oil every week to detangle, in carmel treats, etc.....

Castor oil is not on the list of ceremides. You might have to do a google search on that.
The vials, I just add one to my conditioner, when I dc... every couple months. I don't really keep track.

I don't think JBCO is a ceramide, someone will correct me if I'm wrong...
I personally use my cera repair vials straight, no chase!
But other ladies will add it to their conditioners. You've just got to figure out the best way for you.

Isn't Satinique the Amway haircare and body care line. I had some really old Satinique my mom gave me years ago and finally threw it away. Never really got a chance to use it. I don't remember it saying anything about ceramides.

I love ceramides! They have repaired and kept my hair so strong. I'm natural and I think it benefits EVERYONE, natural and relaxed. Ceramide is an ingredient that can be IN a protein or moisture treatment. But it prevents the loss of protein as much and repairs/fills in broken parts of hair. I use Sedal Ceramidas (really cheap, $4,at a local spanish market here , kinda expensive online) which I think has the highest concentration of ceramides of most products. But it's normal to see ceramides near the end of ingredient lists (I dont think the concentration is supposed to be high).

Thanks, crr0121. My L'Oreal Nature's Therapy Natural and Relaxed Intense Moisture has ceramides at the very bottom. Well, let me say "I think it does." The ingredient says "Octadecanedol". I love this condish, but I don't know if it makes my hair stronger. I want to try the Satinique line and/or use Cera Repair in my regular condish and shampoo.

Yes, There are a LOT of names for ceramides so they are hard to find if just looking at ingredients sometimes. I've seen ceramides listed as this "2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol" in most things. So I look for that or something similar/close in the ingredients and I know that is the ceramide. Some things actually list it as "Ceramide 1, 2, or 3" and then some are really hard to find (cuz of names I don't recognize) but the bottle SAYS it has ceramide or ceramide complex (some thing they mixed up) so I just trust it, lol.
And I've been thinking of trying the Cera Repair. That's definitely more concentrated so I would think it would quickly repair damaged hair. But I don't think I really need it since my hair isn't damaged anymore. I just use ceramides for maintenance but I see a lot of you are diluting by mixing it into poos and cond's so...I might give it a try.

I just used the Amway Satinique Shampoo, Condish & hair repair mask yesterday on my virgin hair. It made it very soft, shiny, and strong. I was having some breakage but my breakage lessened after the shampoo and dwindled down to a few strands of breakage after I applied my protein treatment, the Satinique Condish and the hair repair mask.
