hahahahaahah:lachen: I just did a spinoff of the first thread for those that said they were going to go to post how it was!:lachen:

GOTCHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even many stylists don't understand there is more to roller setting than just rolling. It amazes me how many licenced stylists just don't get it when it comes to roller setting. You can style your hair so many different ways if you position the rollers in the right direction and use the right techniques to smoth it out.

Do you have a youtube link to share or more information on positions of rollers? ty

I wonder if attendees of the seminar were asked not to share info with other hair forums...would make perfectly good sense if they were. She's marketing her business.

I love her hair and I admire her business savy.

I went to the workshop and it was awesome! She is very well-spoken, the presentation was professional (complete with powerpoint slides) and she is even more beautiful in person!

When I came in the door and looked at her hair I almost peed my pants lol. It's soooo long and lovely. I had a hard time trying not to openly gawk with my mouth open... thick and lush and styled so perfect!

She gave lots of handouts and invited us to ask questions. She brought in a variety of hair tools and products gave information on to use each one.

I guess no one went. Too bad she didn't host it online. I bet a bunch of people would have attended. Including me.

There was a guy filming the entire event so perhaps she will post it online in the near future.

maybe the people who went had to take a vow of secrecy lol

LOL She did no such thing. :lachen:

:lachen: WELL? If she did, I wouldn't blame her. But, I'm happy to hear it was a success. She's a class act. If I could afford to join for a year, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Are you a member?

Just an FYI for those asking about the price of the Healthy Textures Forum....there is an extensive (locked) thread about this. I blush at some of my own comments :ohwell:. I was completely wrong about it being overpriced. IMO, the site is worth the money for those who plan to log in and be active on the site. Of course, it's not for everybody, especially those who already have quite a bit of hair care knowledge.

$100 a year membership?!?!?!?!?!

What is her website? I just gotta see what that $100 includes?!

I'm glad she got a good turn out, hopefully someone who attended will post and let us know how they liked it!

For $100 my hair better look miraculous by the end of that year. I better exceed my goals plus some.

But can't blame her, if people are willing to pay, might as well get your money.

$100 is nearly a new steamer or at least a few months worth of stash....:perplexed:

Why is it so expensive? I don't really understand that.

Nope not a member. I think her site is a good idea though for people who need a more direct approach to learn how to care for their hair.

I thought about doing the 2 hour drive to attend this but my schedule just wouldn't allow it. I am going to keep my eyes open for the next one and try and keep my calendar open so if any of my DMV sisters want to go, let me know.

I live too far to go but if I was closer I would of went.

I join her site some months ago but never visited it. All my extra time is spent here, as a matter of fact I joined other free sites but don't visit the either b/c LHCF had me at hello! :lachen:

But I may do the on again off again relationship with her site to save a few bucks.

^ I did the same thing MonaRae, 'cept I feel a little salty about the money I wasted monthly.

I'm glad she's doing her thing, I just watched one of her YT vids (beachy waves) and she seems nice/well spoken/helpful and she has GORGEOUS hair. I just wouldn't pay $100 for hair care tips. I hope she's rakin in tha dough tho!!

LOL I recently joined another site but I go once in a blue. I'm a creature of habit lol

I joined the site for 1 month. It is well organized and has videos describing what is being taught/discussed. I really like her site. I wish she would just make another dvd teaching what is on her site.

Not for nuthin', but I went on her site to check out her articles, but most of what she's teaching is stuff you can find HERE or on youtube.

I guess it's great if you're a newbie or someone that needs quick info, because she seems like she knows what she's talking about and the site is very organized. Not relaxed, so what she has to say wouldn't benefit me.

It's good you have the option of paying monthly though.

it was great..i learn somethin new all the time w/ Gennifer. The food was delicious too.

I know; I was a member there last year(when finances were better), but I couldn't afford to re-up...it was a nice site, and the other members were friendly and all, but I could not afford to renew, especially since I got so much more from this site. Maybe I didn't avail myself of all the resources there, but I seem to get a lot more for my $ here. I do wish her the best, though; her hair was one of my inspirations for starting my HHJ.

Wow I read through some of the old thread posted here and it is very unfortunate. When it adds up she's likely doing well financially and that makes me happy for her. I love to see a sista or a brotha doing well and progressing. Its not her fault that any of us failed to think on that idea or act on it. Of course its not a interest for some of us, but for those who could have taken upon the same opportunity, let her success serve as a lesson of redeeming your time.

Also the site being $100.00 a yr comes out really cheaply about $10 dollars a month. If you need hair care advise its a good buy to me.

I hope and wish much success for her. I'm to far from her meet up but if I were close, I'd attend. $5.00 is a giveaway.

where was her seminar held??? does anyone know? how did yall hear about it? Personally I've never heard of her...Ateeya, yeah. Not her, though.

I think it was in Philadelphia where she lives. Not completely sure. She has one of the most-watched hair care videos on youtube - the saran wrap tutorial.

She didn't make up the technique (plenty of hair dressers have done this for years), but it seems to have popularized it around the hair board/youtube scene.

praise God for Lhcf, other free forums and youtube. I was a member for the at first to support her but then when i went back to visit every bluemoon I thought mine eyes were playing trickery on me with the fee. I pay this lhcf fee every year without a thought of it coming out of my account and some times i don't come on at all, but for that fee anyways. much love to her and her gig.
