I guess no one went. Too bad she didn't host it online. I bet a bunch of people would have attended. Including me.

There are more bumps in here than people that went. :look:

How is the online site? Anybody a member of that? (sorry for jacking :lachen:)

In the original Macherieamour/healthy textures thread there are some ladies who checked out their site. I can't recall what their final opinion was. Unless I hit a plateau I'm staying right here :)

I'm sure people went, just maybe the people that are members of her site. I can't imagine why anybody wouldn't want to go. Especially since it was only $5 bucks.

exactly! i'm hoping a member on here is "a friend of a friend" who went so they can share!!

I'm a member of the site, but I don't visit the forums on her site too much to gauge whether there are many members or not....she has an internal forum where she'll address questions one-on-one that I have utilized in the past. The most valuable part of the site are her many video tutorials and courses though. She's on Week 7 of the Setting Course and it's extremely helpful. She covers MANY types of sets and goes into really good detail. And of course her articles are always helpful too.

I typically buy a one month membership every 6 months or so, I just still can't justify spending $100 on the yearly membership even though I'd love to have a 12-month membership. It's just too steep in my opinion.

That's a clever way of maintaining membership without having to pay that steep price.

I joined when she first started the site, then I did a three-month membership this summer. I found her guides on setting really helpful as well. There's a lot more to it than just roller-sets and I didn't realize that.

I wouldn't be able to log on often enough to justify being a member all the time, but I think her site is very well-organized and she does a lot of research before writing an article or doing a video.

Although the popular opinion is that this site is cheaper and that it has more information, her site can save a lot of time for a newbie to learn the basics. With that said, it still takes work for each person to figure out her own regimen. It just happens that most techniques Gennifer (Macherie) suggests work for me - but not all! For example, I bought Kemy Oil (sp?) and my hair hated it. However, I follow her roller-setting technique.

ETA: I have considered how much valuable time I would save if my primary membership was over there. I never got "into" the forum over there. I didn't see the point since I didn't know what would happen to my pictures and posts while I went inactive on the site. I also didn't like using my real name. I guess you could make up a fake name, but most people seem to be using their government names.

Even many stylists don't understand there is more to roller setting than just rolling. It amazes me how many licenced stylists just don't get it when it comes to roller setting. You can style your hair so many different ways if you position the rollers in the right direction and use the right techniques to smoth it out.

This was her status this morning
"Thanks so much for everyone who came to the workshop yesterday! We had a packed house! I hope to see you at the next one!"

What is her website? I just gotta see what that $100 includes?!

I'm glad she got a good turn out, hopefully someone who attended will post and let us know how they liked it!

For $100 my hair better look miraculous by the end of that year. I better exceed my goals plus some.

But can't blame her, if people are willing to pay, might as well get your money.
