On myself, long hair begins at BSL. But I've seen APL on some people that looks long too. In addition to fullness, I think the distance between your neck and torso also play a role. I've got a short neck and torso, so APL on me is nothing to write home about.

By the way, whats BSB?

On others APL. On me WSL. Maybe it's because I haven't gotten there bc when I was BSB it seems SO short. I look back at my pic and think wth was going on in my mind?

in real life, full apl is the beginning of long hair to me ... and i don't mean two twigs touching apl in the back :look::perplexed:laugh:, i mean hair from the crown/sides on downward is at least apl in length

on hairboards, i consider full bsb long (@ 25+ inches) ... with the flatness of pics, it usually takes at least that length for it to look long ... even though i know if i saw that length irl, i'd be all :lovedrool::dizzy::lovedrool:... the beginning of super long!

Apl will look like bsl on me because the way my body is shaped. Hair lentgh looks different on people.

I voted MBL or longer, simply because my hair was mbl before but after a bad breakup I chopped all of my hair off and now I'm starting over.

At least bra strap to me. Strangely I've seen people call shoulder length long hair and I mean white people lol. I would think that only people who had difficulty growing long hair would call something like shoulder long.

BSL for me as well.

I also know whites that consider SL long. It's not about whether you have a hard time growing, it's about your personal definition of long.
I feel like the whites that think SL is long define long as "not short". If you're definition of long is just "not short", then yes I think SL is indeed the end of short and beginning of "long" I guess.

For me hair is not long until it's brastrap. But I don't think APL hair is short. I guess I would have to call that medium.

Before visiting the boards and me actually reaching it, APL, but now having hair-norexia and seeing others' here I'd say at least BSB.

I voted BSL.

I understand why people would think of APL as long, but I disagree. IMO, it's just glorified SL or CBL...it's not like there's some dramatic difference. Even though I'm not quite there yet, I'm close enough to be able to tell that APL ain't gonna be ish. I think that people only think that APL long because it tends to be one of the longest distances between length goals. Like from APL to BSL on me is 3.5 inches, but from SL to APL is 6.
So when people get there, they think that its so much hair. But if they compare how much hair they have with how much torso they have...it tends to really not be that much. But that depends on proportions.

To steal a line from Bene's book, my little chart would be:

Bald - SL : Short
CBL-APL: Middling
BSL-WL: Long
HL+: Very Long.

I voted BSL... I'm approaching APL (in the back anyway), and while I used to consider it long, now that it doesn't feel so far away, I'm no longer impressed with it.
I'm also pretty small (5'1''), which might also be a part of why I don't consider it long on me. On taller people, I still consider it to be pretty long.

I voted APL because irl it's rare that I see any AA women with hair that length and I have never been past grazing SL. Now that I am only about 2.5 inches away from APL I don't think its long on me and I am 5'5" I can't wait until I get BSB

Bra strap is long hair on any person, any race imo. Anything beyond mid-back is extra long to me.

I voted APL, because in real life not to many AA women have APL hair and when you see them(me) I think well she has long hair. I am currently BSL almost MBL. I feel like if some people were taught how to really deal with their hair, their hair would be longer.

For me it depends on the height and the length of the torso on the person. On me, APL, even BSL isn't long because I have a very long torso. And as such, it took me well over a year to reach APL. It is taking just about that much time to get to full BSL, and I suspect that it'll take longer to get to full MBL. So, for me, MBL is long. For others that I've seen, APL looks incredibly long. :yep:

To be 100% honest for AA women i think APL or longer.

NON AA women BSL or WL+. I have seen many NON AA's with longer hair then APL, so apl doesnt amaze me on them. But i have seen little AA women with hair longer then SL..of course besides online(hair forums/YT):look: I have yet to meet an AA(w/o dreads) in person with WL hair or HEALTHY BSL hair:sad:

@ bolded. Thats why i cant wait until i go to the New York Meet up in May!! ill be in the company of other APL and longer ladies, IN PERSON!!!

I voted BSL and longer
If you would have asked me 5 years ago I would've said shoulder length and over LOL but this place has given me some serious hair anorexia
