I've been using this. My hair has been a beast. I'm not sure why I'm getting all this growth, it really is amazing. I'm getting it cut again this weekend. This is the second time in a month.

Anyone use this?

here is what the site said about it:

  • Helps restore moisture
  • Rebuilds damaged hair
  • Stimulates the root of your hair
  • Deep penetrating conditioner

Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner softens, detangles, moisturizes and strengthens hair. Formulated with olive oil, silk proteins, and sweet orange oil which provides the ultimate conditioning experience. Hair is left restored with moisture and a natural shine.

My response:

I LOVE THIS STUFF. At two weeks post I couldn't get a comb through my hair on sunday:perplexed. I use this product on my daughter hair and decided I would give it a try on my hair. It made the hair silky and easy the comb. I lost very little hair. I know it's for deep conditioner but I'm using it as a leave in because my hair needs a little extra help since I've been wearing it down for 2 weeks. I've been using it daily.

Do you have any porosity control? I would mix it with my slippiest conditioner, apply, and detangle. I hope that helps.

Should I re-wet it, or slather on oil and conditioner on my dry hair and work it slow with my wide tooth comb?

Rewet with conditioner and work from the ends up in the shower. Once you complete a section braid it up. It may take several times in the shower (because you may run out of hot water) but just continue until you complete your head.

You need an acidifying conditioner to help the hair shafts lay flat and a shampoo that adds some slip. I'd wash with Elasta QP Moisturizing Shampoo and condition with a moisturizing, slip inducing conditioner and then condition again with Roux Porosity Control.

I'm the opposite of everyone else. I find dematting dry hair works better or at least dry-ish. Wet hair, hair with conditioner in it, etc, at least my hair, stretches my hair strands. I'd let my hair air dry and then when it is like 90% dry, I'd work the matts out a little at a time with my fingers.

Washing my hair in sections worked WONDERS for me. I am about 5 months post and am considering transitioning. I put my hair in four braids and worked with each braid during the whole washing/conditioning process, rebraiding each section after each step. I talked about it in one of my blogs. My hair used to mat EVERY. SINGLE. WASHDAY. HTH!

SF, You may have to run out and get some Products to help You out with this, or send someone, but in any case, someone posted this a little while back, and said that it works wonders( I personally haven't tried it, but the ratings were Great!) :

This sounds like a great idea! I have seen some items along the same line but as a spray. I saw them at a local BSS. I can't say about Sally's I don't go there much.

I'm not sure, but I will find out for You!

That also sounds good, I'm sure there are plenty of products out there to Help with this, I'm gonna see if I can put My finger on a "chain" store that may have this in Her area.

I tried Sally's, they don't have it, I'm thinking that since its a Isoplus Product that they would have it in a local BSS, now I did find a site that has it fairly cheap, $2.97, now if they have over night shipping that may not be that bad, if You opt to go that route, You can sleep with the conditioners and Oils in over night , which may help anyway. Its worth a shot, but I'm thinking that any BSS that carries Isoplus Products should have it, even a Walgreens or Rite-Aid or something of that nature. Here is the Site I found, HTH:

Thanks a bunch!! My head is sore from trying to deal with it with my fingers. Thats bad I know but I cant stop for some reason. Once Im finished with school Im going to really work on it with.....something. LOL!!

OR ANY OIL THAT WORKS FOR YOUR HAIR

(i'm only adding this cuz olive oil does not help me with slip for some reason it's the devil to my hair)

My hair never seemed to like o.o. either (pre-lhcf) so since then i always use it pre-mixed (cantu o.o.) it works better this way FOR ME. Although i have other favorites (jojoba, castor, coconut, etc.)

I had a similar experience and what helped me was patience, the right tools (a needle/clothespin), technique, product and, ultimately, having someone else detangle it for me. Here's the thread I started, it might be of use to you.

Just take your time and I'm sure your hair will be fine. :yep:

Man oh man. Detangling dry hair = :pullhair: :cry3: :stop: Wet and slippery is what you want. I'd slather on condish and maybe use some heat, then apply tons of oil. Oil is what gives you slip like nothing else. Then take your time tiny section by tiny section and go from the line of demarcation up to the scalp. :bighug: You can do this.

I'm sorry, I don't remember who said it in this thread :dizzy: but someone mentioned [ETA: went back and checked, it was Avaya] that they don't detangle wet because then their hair stretches too badly? This used to be me... it is a sign that you have too much moisture in your reggie and not enough protein.

I had a similar issue recently when I attempted my first 6 month stretch. I stopped detangling at the new growth towards the end of my stretch. It took me forever to get through it all the while cutting matted Hair out. It was a nightmare I'm still trying to come back after that set back. I did the ol slather with coconut oil then conditioner & let it sit for 30min. Then it took my shower comb, denman and scissors and slowly went to work. I was getting so frustrated, but I realized that not detangling the entire head for me is a no no. So now I'm approaching the end of my 4 month stretch with ease. I wash and detangle 3 times a week and my hair loves it. I barely loose any hair during the detangle process. Just be patient and moisturize and make sure you use product that have a lot of slip. ;)
