On jane carter's site she suggests 22.5 miligrams of zinc daily. What do you guys think??

I've been taking Nature's Made Zinc in 60mg. Since it's such a high dosage, I take it every other day. I don't know if it's doing much in aiding in my hair growth. Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I take about 15mg of zinc from my multi, and I take an additional 50mg to ward off colds and to keep my skin clear. I have a vitamin book that states that the normal dose for women is around 20 mg and 50 mg for men, and that a person shouldn't take more than 100mg per day.

I didn't know that prior to purchasing zinc from puritan's pride, so I purchased the most for my money...100mg tablets. I experienced nausea after taking them b/c it was way too much, which is the most common side effect. So I had to cut them down, and I'm fine now.

I too take zinc lozenges to ward off colds and like Vevster wrote, it works great! My lozenges contain 24 mg of zinc. Is this the same zinc you ladies are talking about? Can I expect more hair growth results from zinc lozenges or should I take regular zinc?

I used to take them and stopped about 6 months ago...After getting the flu on Christmas day, I think I am going to start back!
