starting to think the relaxer or press whatever she done to her hair just emphasized the shape of her natural hair ...it wanted a dc and a protein treatment way before she even had a relaxer

She put up another testimonial video and all I can say is oh my damn.
FYI - I'm talking about this womans hair and nothing else.

The woman in the testimonials hair looks very similar to the doctors. So it seems that it's the products that are giving the hair the weighted down, dullish, unmoving look.

My goodness that is not more than 24 inches of hair. :nono: Perhaps the client is 6'5". This is poor advertising. She needs better examples of healthy hair with luster and movement. Giving up nice, healthy looking, relaxed hair would be more of an inspiration.

For relaxed her hair does look pretty dull but to make the claim that she only pressed it to fool people isn't fair. We can be really critical sometimes even when it isn't necessary. Why would she do that much pressing when it will damage her hair anyway? That's messed up to make that allegation and I hope it's not factual.

lol @ some of the comments on youtube.
its funny how quickly some people forget how their hair used to look before they stumbled across sites like bhm or lhcf.
:ohwell:

Yeah I know, but weren't charging people $20 a month with busted up hair either

I like and dislike this thread at the same time.
I have no comments.
Ill be on the sidelines waiting to see how far this train can go and how it will end up.

I'm also shocked that her hair came out looking so dry, dull and lifeless. When in my experience "virgin" hair usually looks a lot better because it hasn't had constant contact with a chemical. It should have come out looking silkier than that. And the fact that she considers herself the hair doctor she should have great results when natural or relaxed. It feels kinda gimmicky... But looks interesting to see what her natural results will look like.

...that's EXACTLY what my relaxed hair looked like before i started my hair journey. puffy & stiff with frizzy ends. plus this was a virgin relaxer & she's a trichologist ... i highly doubt her intention was to process bone straight.

but then again she very well may have pressed it. time will tell. i won't be buying her products but i may try & tune in for her weekly updates after a month or two.

have we forgotten that not everyone has perfect ends? & that not every relaxed head has perfect swingy straightness? y'all must've been on LHCF too long!

i will say this though. to create that much buzz over a relaxer... she should have gotten it professionally done, trimmed, & styled. it really ought to look more polished than it does based on how she hyped up her "big relax".

I don't hold her to a higher standard because of LHCF. I hold her to that standard becuase her name is the Hair Doctor and she's trying to sell products to the masses. She seems like a nice lady but if she needs to go to a professional she's no hair doctor.

I'm kinda torn on this one. There's a certain type of person I guess she's trying to appeal to and clearly most of us are not that person. I think as far as business is concerned it's smart. After all it really is hair and it really grows back, and to be honest I wasn't all that impressed with her fro anyway.

Think about how many people go on youtube searching on tips for transitioning. Her vids will keep popping up years after her hair grows back. I think she relaxed, she just half-a$$ed it. And really, it doesn't matter because she wasn't relaxing to keep relaxing she's only relaxing to prove a point.

I ain't buying nothing she's selling but I see where she's going with it.

Why do people think she lied? :ohwell: She didn't relax for style. Has she ever self-relaxed before anyway? Her natural hair didn't look good either, so I don't see why people are surprised. :giggle:

im quite sure she is using her own products on he relaxed head. hair is pretty weighed. hope she realizes the negative advertisement she is creating for whatever product she is using....

maybe not. some people like that weighed down look :(

hmmmm i just checked her account and she hasnt done a vid for 3 months i thought the point of her relaxing was that she was going to do more vids on haircare :ohwell:

She looks like a scammy person to me :nono:

She's not. She's really a very sweet and humble lady with a very successful business. I've known several persons that have gone to her salon for some time with good results. I've never been impressed with her hair though....natural or otherwise, but she seems to do good work for others. And, she's helped others achieve healthy hair.

The problem I have with Lisa Akbari is, she texlaxed but claimed to be an-naturale. Also, I have known her for over 10 years and her hair remained the same length. It would seem that a hair doctor would be able to grow long hair.

What the??? I thought she was the Hair Doctor????? :nono:

Her hair looks terrible. Crediblity Gone!!!!

SMDH:lachen: Her hair is a hot mess! I am very disappointed in the texture and shine in her natural hair as well as the relaxed hair. For her to be a hair doctor, she's not taking her own advice. Maybe she needs to write herself a prescription!

I see this thread lives again :lachen:

Personally, I didn't think she'd be doing a deep journey of transitioning. :look:

I know some may disagree but whatever she did to her hair wasn't the business. I'm sorry but I have to take you seriously when looking for advice and tips on hair. When you are lacking in something you're saying your great in :look:

Wow...

First of all ... I don't think this was the best idea...I too think that she should have gotten one of her clients who wanted to transition anyway and tracked their progress using the methods/products that she claims to be an expert in.

Second...when I saw the video I can't really say if her hair is truly relaxed or pressed or if it's a wig or weave....but I don't understand how she could get away with it in the long run if she was lying.....I mean, a few months from now she's going to have to show some new growth and actually manipulate the hair on camera to demonstrate her "healthy practices" ... it's been 3 months now hmmmm

Third...even if this was legit and she had awesome hair & great advice...I can't get over that voice :nono: .. I couldn't sit through those vids .. LOL @ the Barney voice comment!!

All in all ... I hope she does come back with some great advice for her followers who are transitioning (I am not a subscriber to her channel but I am a little curious to see how all of this plays out)...but honestly I don't know if she can provide info that they cannot already get from other youtubers and hair forums that are not busy pushing products at them in a weird disturbing cartoon voice :lachen:...

Does anybody follow her anymore? I just found out who she was about 2 months ago. Something about her is off to me hahahaha...I just watched a video where she said she doesn't list all her ingredients on her products because she wants to keep some secrets which is a big no no in my book.

If she hasn't lost credibility by now it isn't going anywhere. She's been fake and her hair has looked jacked since JUMP and if you're actually a doctor WHY IN THE WORLD DO I HAVE 2 WEBCAMS THAT ALL ARE MORE CLEAR than whatever it is that she has??? Seriously is it that dark on purpose??? I mean who can actually see her hair with that horrible lighting. If she were a regular person I'd hush but don't claim something as your specialty and not come correct... Afro please!!!!

she relaxed her hair 2 years ago. as the "expert" she claims to be, shouldnt her hair be longer and no so thin on the ends. IJS
