What was your most beneficial growth method in 2005? Was it a product, hairstyle or combination of both? Perhaps consistency of wearing the same style, maybe washing your hair more or less? Moisturizing, trimming, or not trimming? All natural products or the same products you've always used, but differently? Using vits, changing them, taking more or taking less? Do share what caused your hair to grow beyond your expectations in 2005.

Little heat, buns, co-washing, braids, and mtg.

I would definately say it was wearing buns and the baggie method (over ponytail and head). I've always been able to grow my hair back from a cut but bunning is what helped me retain that extra inch of growth to get me past that hump.

I would say :
Twist and cornrows + Daily moisturising with homemade lotion + No Pooing my hair once or twice a week with Deep conditionning and Hair treatment + Oiling hair's ends every other day with natural oils (olive, carrot, shea butter) + Shampoo and ACV once a month!

When i started adding liquid aloe vera and glycerin to my daily conditioners that i use for co-washes.

Making and using my spritz daily- it consists of water- glycerin-liquid aloe vera-eo.

Using dominican cocktail(thanks to anky)- miss keys 10 en 1, emergencia and rivas silicon mix

Rotating my shampoos and conditioners.

Protective styles (twists and braids)
Keeping my hair moisturized
Eating better and excercising
Vitamins

COing(water)! Single-handed-ly saved my scalp! I use to have severe dandruff with excessive itching and sores. My scalp is so much healthier which hasn't been since childhood. Secondly, I kicked my relaxer to the curb this year. Now I'm on my way back to bsl-midback, whatever, with a healthy scalp and hair! :D Now, I want to see if sulfur is going to help a sista out in the 06! We shall see!ETA: drinking lots of water the past few months I think has helped too.

I would have to say taking Vitamins every day (Making sure I get at least 1200 mcg of Biotin daily.
B-Complex
Moisturizing Every day
Twisting my hair into a bun

My hair is growing even faster than usual, but I'm having a problem retaining the length in the front. My hair was cut in a layered hairstlye,so the top part is somewhat shorter. It looks great when curled, but of course a nice ponytail can sometimes be a problem. I find I have to cut at least an inch off when I trim. If I could avoid the split ends, the front of my hair would grow back. Just need to work on edges and nape.

- Conditioner Washing w V05 Conditioners
- NIOXIN Smoothing Protectives Moisturizing Cleanser for UnrulyTextured Chemically Enhanced Hair
- JASON Natural Biotin Shampoo
- SULFUR 8

Honey!!! Mixed in with just about everything! Also, most importantly, stretching my relaxers has made my hair thicker and healthier. Only combing after conditioning, pre-pooing every time, cream of nature poo and con, less worrying about what others think of my hair!!

Less combing, protective styles and stretching relaxers have helped a lot. I cannot say it was one specific product.

Drastically reducing use of heat (I believe this to be the #1 reason for realizing length and thickness)
Moisturizing
Protective styling
Stretching relaxers

I feel it was not making radical changes to the regimen that was working for me, once I found it. I stuck to only what works and continued using no heat, washing 2x per week, keeping my ends moisturized at all times, no combing between washings and stretching my relaxers.

*Moisturizing More Often
*Baggie Method
*CO Washes
*Protective Styles
*Less Heat

Using the baggie method and even though I hate it, trimming my hair until it grew in healthy was most beneficial for me.

1. NO HEAT Over and Above Anything this was the best thing for Retaining length

2. Stretching Relaxers... I've since decided to transition once and for all.

Great thread.

Frequent Conditioner washes

Going natural

Oiling my scalp with castor oil for thickness

Lots of TLC

Twists for protective styles.

The most growth I've seen is from daily doses of MSM (length-wise). I will say that the MTG gives me thickness (its filled in a thin spot in the crown of my head where some highlightes broke off). I would definitely give both of these two products the "thumbs up" for '05.

-daily cw's
-1000 mg MSM/day
-protective styles
-no direct heat on ends for 2 years
-stretching relaxers
-Glover's, Sulfur 8, and my new found love: MTG!!!

*conditioner washes every day
*no heat
*protective style (For me that means putting my hair back loosely in a ponytail or bun)
*moisture (I currently use hemp butter before I put my hair back.)

Out of all of them, I believe the daily cowashing has been the most important.
