It's nice to see that so many of you have supportive BF's and husbands...

My ex was TERRIBLE to me about my hair journey. Where do I begin?

• He frequently refererred to my hair as nappy because I would stretch for 5-6 months at a time and put my hair in a bun
• We went on various trips that involved water (i.e. skiing, rafting) and he constantly asked me why I was embarassing him with my nappy hair
• When I did have my hair rollerset (which I do EVERY WEEK), I would only get my roots blown. He hated that I liked to have curls in my hair and didn't wear it straight. I tried to explain that I didn't like having heat on my hair shaft, but he didn't get it.
• He complained that I didn't have the 'good hair' of his previous girlfriends.
• The few times I did straighten my hair, he treated me like a goddess.

That's it for now . Since he's been gone, I've been hiding my hair on the xmas challenge. I've NEVER seen so much healthy growth and I will MOST DEFINATELY be flaunting it!

Let me just add...I once found a box texturizer in this man's bathroom .

He has my back, 'cause he don't care what I do with my hair, "it's your hair, do what you want".

But I know he didn't particularly care for my natural hair 'cause it wasn't "fixed". My question was, what does "fixed" mean!?--straight? My hair was always combed (when I went out) what the hell does fixed mean?!

Now that I'm back to relaxers he asked me "don't you feel better now ?
No, but you do! He's not doing cartwheels or anything, I just know that he prefers relaxed hair, but I did break him down (schooled him) about the natural thang though! He will see it again one day.

well my "friend" and prob soon to be bf knows that I go on a "hair site" often but probably doesnt know how much I am into the whole hair thing. He likes to "crack jokes" often and he asked "just because your on a hair website you think you know about hair?" And then he had the nerve to say it was a bunch of bald-headed women trying to grow hair (i think he included me erplexed )....but he did say it in a jokingly fashion....Imma have to show him some fotki's when he comes over later.

Then he talks about his hair and said that once it gets a certain length it stops growing then he asks me what product to buy to get it to grow. I am like it is not that simple, then I started talking about deep conditioning, moisturizing, how horrible products marketed to us are etc.... Now he wants me to help him grow his hair out (he was prob thinking...dang maybe she does know what shes talking about )


Oh he did say the bun was "nice" but that comment was immediately followed by a request to wear my hair down


ETA: How could I forget about when earlier today he said "I got that good curly hair...you know not that bad stuff." I am like so what are you saying nappy hair is bad? He is like no and immediately corrected himself. He must have knew I was about to go off!

His hair is very low now but he wants to grow it out.....but if I ever see him in a ponytail ummm.......
