Your 3-5 Summer Hair "Must-Haves"

1 DB's moisturizing spritz ( claudie's tea seems like it might also do well )
2 CJ's smoothing lotion or SSI's coco cream LI
3 HV's Avasoya (MD's argan may also work)
4 *DB's coco bean cream ( replaced oyin's dew for me since my boys took that over)
5 CR's aloe hair gel or CJ's pattern pusha
 
This Summer is a use it up and get right Summa!!

1. Cowash every 7-10 days-Oyin Honey Hemp, Jessicurl Aloeba, and some other stuff
2. DC- every time with either MHC, SSI, Komaza, and BFH that I've been had in the fridge for a minute now
3. Leave-in- SSI, Aloeba, and Dew
4. Twist outs and braid outs with SSI, DB, and Kyra- stylers and moisturizers
5. Henna every other month

Summer hair "must haves"

this is actually my all the time routine, seeing that its pretty much summer time all the time here :grin:

1. Spritz --- Plain Aloe Vera or Aloe mixed with herb tea (nettle, burdock root, rose hip)
2. Leave-in --- Pura body murumuru moisture milk, HV whipped ends or moist pro
3. Light oil --- walnut mixed with sweet almond
4. Styler --- SM curling souffle mixed with SM anti breakage mask
 
1) Cowashing conditioner: Giovanni SAS and 50/50
2) DC- Aubrey organics GPB or HSR
3) Moisturizing leave-in: oyin hair dew, kckt
4) Coconut oil
5) hair bands made from tights. Seamless and great for putting my hair up in the heat.
 
1) Aloe Vera and rosewater/glycerin spritz
2) Castor oil (for my ends since I wear a lot of wngs)
3) flaxseed gel
4) creamy moisturizing leave in
5) seemless hair ties for pineappling and puffs
 
1. Conditioners - I will be cowashing almost daily so I'm getting through that gallon of Hairveda, and I'm using up everything else!
2. Gel - Claudies gel is my staple for wet bunning or ponytails
3. Growth aides - I need my hair to touch the back of my knees by the end of the year lol
4. Shower caps (I sleep in the cowash condish nightly)
5. Leave in (Darcy's transitioning creme)
6 co-cleansers (gets the gel out in between wash days)
 
Thanks OP for the thread. Great ideas/suggestions. My summer "must haves" are/will be :

1. a steamer (will be purchasing next month)
2. wigs
3. growth aids: jbco, Peppermint Pomade, MN, ayurvedic oils
4. shampoo/DC every 3 days( I have to keep my scalp clean)
5. Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque (favorite DC)

What 3-5 Things i.e. products, tools, hair accessories will you need to make it through the Summer Months.

My List is:

1. Spritzes, spritzes, all kinds
2. Lightweight Cowash Conditioners
3. Hair Lotions/Light Creams
4. Steamer
5. Hair accessories

What about YOU?
Ditto except I changed #5. I coffee & tea spritz rather than rinse.

leave in condtioner/detangler (using the db leave-in these days)
gel (ecostyler right now but want to go back to using afroveda whipped gelly)
conditioner ( aubrey's forever,lol)
shampoo (giovanni 50/50)
oils and creams/butters to moisturize and seal (claudies creams/butters and oils like sapote, meadowfoam, castor, kukui, evoo, evco reign supreme)

my reggie is pretty much the same year around, the only thing i have added new as of last fall is moisturizing and sealing 2-4 times per week

TONS of conditioner!!!:yep: I co wash almost everyday in the summer. If anybody has ever experienced a Floridian Spring or Summer...you know co-washing is the biznizz!:lol:

So yeah, i rely on my Suave and V05.

Also...i'm back to my EcoStyler gel bc of the glycerin in it and i just like how it works as a gel:yep:

I want to find a nice spritz...i might buy a new bottle of Oyin J&B
 
1. Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner
2. A non-drying shampoo
3. An oil - coconut for now but I'm gonna start researching some other types
4. My sponge rollers

Another summer must have for me are claw clips or holders of some kind...you feel fancy when you go out with your hair down but then when you feel that heat :nono: you need an escape route:grin:

Knot Today & Spiral Spritz
WEN Fig or Trader Joe's Moisturizing conditioner for washing
Wild Growth Oil,regular & light

I also use Qhemet OHHB and/ or the following oils when needed : KinkyCurly Perfectly Polished, Argan oil, Coconut oil
My own oil/water spritz made from the above oils

I do wash n goes in hot weather.I find my hair does just great co washing with the Trader Joe's or WEN. Just tried the Qhemet under KCCC & it works very well.
