yes to air-drying!!!

i did my very first air-dry last night and today i have shiny, soft, & full hair that looks like i stood in the mirror fussing over it for hours...

if they only knew that all i did was wash/condition, put a little cream while it was damp, put it in 1 loose bun/pin curl, wrap w/a silk scarf, and upon waking this morning-i put a little serum and used my curling iron to put 10 large spiral curls (i hardly ever use my iron but i set it at 6 and held each section for 10 seconds). i have a nice classy wave pattern going on.

i am so thrilled! all this time i've been rollersetting/wrapping and i could have been air-drying. the ONLY thing that i was'nt so thrilled about is that it seemed that my hair shed/snapped during the comb-out which i did w/my shower comb. i dunno; it may be all in my mind?

i am totally taken w/this air-drying stuff...
now, who said the best things are free?

ps-i can't wait to wash again just so i can air-dry

I have to rollerset mine...too much hair, I have gone to bed with damp hair and find that it's still damp in the AM.

Glad you liked it. Air drying is a great alternative to heat drying. Much healthier for the hair. Many people have the problem of more shed hairs when airdrying just as you did. One way to combat this little problem is by adding a serum to your hair. This allows the hair shaft to dry smooth (what the heat usually does), thereby making combouts a lot happier.

I'm glad you like the airdrying! Another way to keep hairs from shedding is NOT to comb it after airdrying. Just use your fingers to style. I learned that when I first came to this board that combing airdried hair can cause excessive shedding unless like Armyqt said, serum is used (I haven't tried that yet).

i thought it was something that i did wrong. so this shedding happens when air-drying. you know, i have 2 great serums but i used 1 after the hair was dry before bumping w/the iron. so next time i'll use it while it's damp
