Beirut, Camargue, France and several other bodies of waters in various places...in various years. But when the scriptures say it's turning to blood, it's blood. That would coagulate and rot and stink. This is red color. The one in Beirut came from a closed sewage pollution source. Camargue became red with high levels of salt...they are right on the sea.

Other than that, I have nothing else to add.

I was thinking along the same lines, that "turns into blood" meant the waters would be filled with blood -- like from a bloody battle.

In this case, I think it will be discovered that some dye has been dumped in the river. Chinese factories have been linked to several mysterious changes in the environment.

While there is no official pharmaceutical factory in the area, authorities did shut down a "pharmaceutical workshop" several months ago and have now said they'll investigate to see if any substances are being illegally manufactured again. In the meantime, many of the capsules have washed away, dying the sewer a subtle, not-disgusting-at-all bluish green.
