@MzSwift Wait, so washing your braids daily helps to avoid tangles?? What do you put in your hair when you braid it up. I want to wear mini braids but the last time I did it was tangle city for take down.

OMG, so sorry. I didn't get notification of this mention.

I usually braid them dry after my weekly wash/DC. I tend to convert my styles instead of starting from a fro. So I'm either converting from cornrows or celie braids to mini braids. Then when I get tired of them, I convert them back to cornrows or celies and wig it. I still cowash/water rinse in the cornrows as well. I also primarily finger detangle. I only use a comb 3-4 times/year.

I only have major tangles if I keep the set in past 3 weeks. That's my maximum. I think the coneless products help to prevent buildup. Have you tried soaking yours in oil or doing a HOT prior to take down?

When I WNG I just cowash, rinse about 50% of the condish out, plop for about 10min, slick down my edges with gel and go...
