Baggying under wigs worked wonders to keep the moisture in for me last winter. Maybe I'll try senegalese twist again this winter.

Hey now THAT's an idea (@ the bolded) :)
*jots down notes*:look:
*sits back down and waits for someone else to throw in an idea*

Hmm baggying sonds great!! what will you be using?

I'm going to be a "straight" natural this winter. I plan to flat iron bi-weekly and wear braidouts in-between.

You have beautiful hair!! Cant wait till mine is that long and full!! Sounds like a good plan

Awww it's my first winter as well...I am in the Hide Your Hair Challenge, so I am doing rollersets, buns on top of my head, and twist outs from July 31-December 31!!! I am only applying heat to it 3 times between the 5 months while regularly maintaing it with weekly washes, mid-weekly co-washes, bi-montly DC, and maintaing a balance between protein and moisture.

Sounds like a good plan Kaytee!! I haven't tried roller setting since I started transitioning....I don't think my natural will like it.

I'm wearing a lace front wig as a half wig. DC every 2 weeks (or more frequently if my scalp needs it), do cornrows and moisturize daily. I'm actually looking forward to winter this year. Its a welcomed break from washing my hair every week.

Your hair look beautiful I thought about doing wigs but I didnt find one I like. Except the AAMH ones....like this:http://www.allaboutmyhair.com/Store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=865

But I was too scared to order it and end up hating it...plus that almost 400 bucks!!:ohwell: But I do love when I tried the wigs I could just take it off and wash and take care of my hair much more underneath without too much manipulaiton...Good luck Ladies!!!

I will probably wear my wigs and half wigs like I did this past winter to continue my transition. I am chopping no sooner than December so if I continue my transition I'll continue with the wigs and maybe straighten once a month until I chop. This worked well for me this past winter so I see no reason not to do it again.

This is winter I plan to be in braids and wigs! I will dc 2x a week and moisturize and seal 2x a day. Last winter I wasn't ready but this winter I am ret taaaay!!!

I think I'll try weave this winter, i had my first weave a couple weeks ago and I really did not mind it !! Only thing is I think i will try a sew in instead of glue.
Ain't no thinking to it....if you use glue, we WILL seek you out...:mob:

I think I'll roll with an old regimen of GabbanaGirl (aka TheMoptopMaven) and wash/DC/straighten my hair once a month....wear it down the first week, braidouts/bantu knot-outs in the 2nd and 3rd week, then bun the 4th week.

Aww I plan on chopping around that time too!!! But hey I may do it sooner or later than that!! That will make my transition for 19 months....wow time goes by fast!!

I love your village fire people!!! Yea glue is no bueno!!
Nice I'm going to keep that in mind for when I'm fully natural!! Sounds like a great plan!! but hold on...only wash once a month?? Maybe a modified version...my hair likes to be cleansed and dc'd at least once a week!!

Hmmm ... be consistent, simple, and cute. Sticking with Organix & Qhemet Biologics, braidouts/twistouts, once-a-week washing & conditioning, deep conditioning once a month. Less is more! Or it will be this winter...

I am gonna wear it straight more. But in protective styles. I am so excited that I have enough length for Pocahontas braids now. And I saw a video of Traycee doing fishtail braids in pigtails. So I am gonna do those a lot.

I'm probably going to get individual braids since I produce less sebum in the winter I can go longer without washing so I'll get some little individuals I think. If I don't I'll just do some mini twists and keep a wig over them. Redo it every 3-4 weeks.

I dont think anyone mentioned twists. My summer regimen of twisting once a week has been working so far, so i may stay with that and up my moisture and twist every two weeks.

Very consisent DCs, moisturize and seal every night, I won't go outside w wet hair, protect my ends from the harsh cold w protective styles, and I plan on getting a humidifer.

Ms. Kibibi,

I've enjoyed your Youtube tutorials. Your hair is beautiful and looks so manageable. Keep up the excellent tutorials.

I cant wait till I can twist with my desired length!!! I'm not asking for super hang!! But just maybe 3 more inches:grin: Then I can rotate and do pixie braids like MummysGirl!!! And still use my headbands, flexirods, flowers, and other stuff!!

2nd Winter for me.

I will wig it.:yep: Not only did it make a great PS last Winter, it also kept my head warm in the harsh winter months.

Go back to JBCO, WGO and other heavier oils during the colder months.

Keep Steamin' in my DC'ers. I may add HOTs (Hot Oil Treatments) under my Mastex Heat Cap and just keep working my same Regi but w/heavier winter-friendly products.:yep:

Co-Wash
Reconstructor
DC w/Heat i.e. Steamer or Heat Cap
Add Leave-In/Dry
Wig!

This winter will mark 2 years since my transition began! I have come a long way in a relatively short amount of time.

I'm in the HYH challenge too so I'm in weaves until 2011. I will trim and flatiron twice during the 5 month challenge. After January I will wear buns, puffs, braidouts, twist n curls, and braided/regular bantu knot-outs.

Hey if its not broke don't go trying to fix it!!! How did the WGO work out for you? I recommend it to someone that could be store bought instead of ordered online.

I love your Sig!! Sounds like a great plan and yes you have come far since 2008!!! continue the great work!!

Haha !!! Yea seriously though, I'm not using glue ever again it's too hard to salvage the hair when you take it out AND it was a pain to take out of my hair. And I'm looking to keep the weave in 2.5 months at a time and then be able to reuse it so I will be paying A LOT for my hair I want to get my money's worth

I like Wheat Germ,:yep: but I LOVE:love::love: Hemp Seed.

And since Wheat Germ is a little heavier, I will put it back into rotation for Fall/Winter.

I used Hemp Seed Spring/Summer. It's more 'lightweight'. Gives Incredible Shine.

I also have Kukui Nut:ohwell: *which happens to be my least favorite of the Ceramides Oil(s) I have on hand.*

btw: I hope you meant Wheat Germ Oil and not Wild Growth Oil. (which happens to be okay minus the smell)

I am going to protective style all day, EVERY day (twist bun). I will also wear many hats to block off the horrid Ithaca cold.

I plan to get a BSL wig, then a MBL wig two months later...like my hair grew. while secretly growing my hair to MBL.

If I get the hair steamer I want, I might actually start doing rollersets on the regular so I can wear my hair down more. I would say I'm going to bun it up and protective style it this winter, but I don't think I'll do much of that this time. I just want to wear my hair straight more these days.

WIGS! WIGS! WIGS! I will wear my handy dandy Extension Plus wig (been going strong for a year) until Christmas. DC cornrows twice a week with mane and tail, silicon mix, bed head dumb blonde or ion protein conditioner. Remove cornrows every 4-6 weeks deep condition with aohr and wash with hair one. For Christmas press hair and do a length check. After Christmas not sure yet....... thinking about EP sew in.

No sorry lol I meant wild growth oil. I dont know much about ceramides...ok scratch that i dont know jack about wheat germ or hemp seed.:nono: Im sorry I'm still a student to LHCF.

MMMM is it going to be straight, curly, wavy?? Half wig or full?

I want a steamer too but I kind of killed our hooded dryer....soooo I gotta replace it soon......then I'll eventually get a steamer....But I know what you mean having your hair out more....I sometimes wish I still had straight relaxed hair but then I run my fingers through my hair and I fall inlove with my texture again
