Whats your plans for your hair this winter ladies???

I plan on getting a weave....which I'm not sure:nono:
the top 3 choices:
EP ZZ wavy:grin: with a HCGW closure
1-2 packs of bobraz with my leave out
Wagmans Deep curly with a HC closure prob. CW

My hair will always be in a protective style in the winter, no loose styles at all. I'll continue to DC 2x a week (once during wash day with steam and once when I co-wash midweek with my body heat while working out). My hair needs moisture in the winter, I can't eliminate the co-wash/extra DC like I did last winter, my hair suffered a little bit because of it.

I really have no idea :nono: this will be my first winter actually caring for my hair. So I will be lurking to see what people say...

Well it won't be winter where I am, but it will be cooler and less humid. Protective stylin' all day: buns and half wigs, stay up on my DC game :yep:

maybe by then i'll gain enough length to try a bun or two. other than that i dont know what else to do. i started my HHJ in June I didnt start thinking about winter yet.

I may wear wigs, un-glue lacefront, and braids. For the lacefront and wigs I will braid my hair underneath. I am going to moisturize or maybe apply some shea butter before I braid.

I have noooo idea. Last winter my hair was horridly dry :[

I have a hard time wearing a style for more than a week because my hair simply likes to be out I find myself constantly touching up my twists, if i get kinky twists I'm always putting back in what has slipped out. -le sigh

I think I'll try weave this winter, i had my first weave a couple weeks ago and I really did not mind it !! Only thing is I think i will try a sew in instead of glue.

I actually plan on wearing my hair down more often bc during the hot months in Florida i tend to wear my hair up and out of the way bc its humid and just really really hot.

So....i plan on lots of Deep Conditionings and lot of length.....need to re-up on the shea butter and i'll be back to faithfully using my JBCO twice a week.

I'm thinking about doing my Manic Panic vampire red again....or maybe jet black or a dark dark purple color...like purple-black....i dunno...i usually do rinses during the winter.

Nothing drastic. My hair is very cooperative and doesn't give me any trouble. The only thing I really change up is the oil that I use. Instead of using coconut oil like I do in the summer, I use castor oil or an avocado/olive oil mix. I wear my hair down more so that means more rollersets. It's too hot to wear it down in the summer.

Excellent question - it will be my first winter during my hair journey....I wear my hair up in clips now and I may just continue with that...I'll be lurking to see what others say - I never gave it any thought before. Maybe hats????

This will be my first winter too. I'm loving my phony bun. Maybe because I can actually get my hair in a teeny tiny pony tail. It's screaming y'all! Anywho, phony buns and maybe a half wig. I've never tried one though. Hopefully, I can find a cute short little bob.

Wow, I am not sure :/

Hmm I just wonder how long my hair will be, maybe to just wear it down and wet buns, just alternate each week, idk :/
If my hair does not look the way I want, perhaps a weave as well

Good question!! This too will be my first winter taking CARE of my hair:look: ...but im thinkin to get my first wig since im doing the HYH challenge, probably from september. Also i will be increasing DC's from 3x times a week to 4.

However I'll be lurking for some mo' ideas and regimens :detective:

I'm gonna try PSing in a bun with no phony piece.

I just discovered that where I pin my phony piece onto my pony is getting some breakage. I use Good Hair Days pins and think the breakage is coming from me pushing the pin in too tightly to secure it and it's making my hair snap.

I'm going to do what I did last winter. Put braids and wear my silk bonnet and hat to work and flatiron. This time I will wear wigs also.

half-wigs until january, then a bangin' sew-in to kick of 2011! I already know I want to get this Taraji bob when I get my install.

Buns, updos, braid outs, and rollersets will likely be my choices. I live in Southern CA now (originally from Philadelphia); so, it's not like a real, cold winter here.

Weave are great!! As long as you take care of your hair underneath and take care of the hair also!!!

Im thinking if I get my weave I'm going to do all those with the wavy hair!!

I weave and wig it up every winter from about October-April. It will be more of the same for me this year as well.

Baggying under wigs worked wonders to keep the moisture in for me last winter. Maybe I'll try senegalese twist again this winter.

Hey that is similar to me, a dark semi color and wear my hair down more. My hair keeps moisture well, I dont have a prob with it being too dry when down...

Awww it's my first winter as well...I am in the Hide Your Hair Challenge, so I am doing rollersets, buns on top of my head, and twist outs from July 31-December 31!!! I am only applying heat to it 3 times between the 5 months while regularly maintaing it with weekly washes, mid-weekly co-washes, bi-montly DC, and maintaing a balance between protein and moisture.

I'm wearing a lace front wig as a half wig. DC every 2 weeks (or more frequently if my scalp needs it), do cornrows and moisturize daily. I'm actually looking forward to winter this year. Its a welcomed break from washing my hair every week.
