I generally wait a while before jumping on a new company. I've heard too many horror stories of shoddy products that have separated and started growing mold, leaky containers, half filled bottles. Not to mention poor customer service, not receiving products, theft and so on...

I buy online a lot. that said, I'm also quite careful where and whom I purchase from. I tend to purchase from someone who has a lot of recs, and a good reputation online.

That dosen't always save you as we've seen , but its a start.

For hair I'm pretty covered. I love Quemet's products so I don't see myself ordering from someone else anytime soon.

And for those of us who have businesses, either in hair or not, yes, we were all new at one point or another. And if you have bad customer relationships, the business will suffer. I never slack on that because I know that if I do, that bad news will spread like wildfire. The good...sometimes not so much but it does get around:yep: (its the breaks tho)

I'm on a no-buy right now, but I'm figuring out that the things I like are from companies that have been around awhile. I have enough hair products to last me until next year. The only thing that's hurting my heart is the Enso Buttercreme. I love that stuff! Best twist outs ever for me! I'll just have to go through what I have until I find a replacement.

Yes I will. The established companies have their issues as well. Hairveda and KBB make you wait 4-6 weeks for products. Afroveda raises prices every time I sneeze. The other companies that I've tried on recommendations have done nothing for my hair.

I'm waiting for a company to come out with free or expedited shipping, products that give me hairgasms, and great customer service. I buy most of my natural, minority-owned products at Whole Foods and Target now. You'd be surprised what you can now find locally.

No No No, I prefer to buy most of my natural hair products from this Brick & Mortor I know in my city, but if I buy online, it's only from the companies that have good reps, and have been around for yrs. I have been on this board for almost 4 yrs, and a lot of companies have come and gone in such a short time.

I know there are a lot of people who want to be the first to try something, but not me. I like for other people to be the "guinea pig" no pun. And if I do jump on a company, I only use Paypal

unless monkey grease grows hair...Nope. I'm done.

ETA: I see in a couple of years, I have too much product on hand to think straight and make rational decisions...

I don't want to knock any new businesses because their are good people out there. I've been scammed by a few new businesses AND I JUST GOT SCAMMED. I ordered on the 7th of August and still havent got my product from a business called africanmarket i was trying to get the old formual of the dpr11 so i tried then and havent heard from the since

No, PayPal is NOT a secure medium at all. I had been under that misguided impression, until this incident.

I am not going to just let it go though. I have sent letters to PayPal legal, eBay legal and the FBI. As far as I am concerned, PayPal is complicit in this interstate fraud scam. I submitted a claim to the US Postal Inspector as well.

I was just coming in to say that people need to read the fine print before they assume that their money is safe with paypal. You can use paypal and still be scammed.

No. I'll stick with Oyin. But, I do want to check out Qhemet Biologics some time soon.

What recent events? I'm not playing dumb at all. I haven't a clue.

Well dang. See folks make it hard out here for the rest of us....smh

TASQ: I still buy online and as long as the company presents themselves in a professional manner, I'm all for it. Some websites look so raggedy that I just can't...

I know I'll be doing my homework from now on. Ironically enough, during the time of BT gate and Enso/MTM-gate, I purchased from another vendor who is pulling some shennanigans. I'm not going to put the name out there at this moment, until Im satisfied with the outcome, but let's just say that I've learned my lesson and I'm extra leery.

For hair products?!
Naw,
I am TOO happy with Qhemet.

For other stuff,

YEP!!!
I love boxes delivered to my house!
From reputable businesses, of course.

The only "new" products I am anticipating are from Kimmaytube's new line. I've followed her videos, which I love, from day one so I'm interested in what she's going to come out with. It's more curosity than anything as I already have tons of products.

However, I am not afraid of buying online. Some of my favorite lines are now carried locally so I don't need to order online as much. I will add though, that I have ordered from Qhemet Biologics, Oyin, Karen's Body Beautiful, Beemine and Hairveda for years without incident and WOULD DEFINITELY order again if I wanted or needed to.

It really depends on the business. I bought from one online business when it was new, six or seven years later, I continue to buy from this business. The person is an e-friend who has more than proven herself to be reliable. I freely recommend her and her products.

However, I try not to get caught up in the fly-by-night trendy websites. Its just not worth it for me.

LOL I recently did because they had a 35% off coupon on some of my favorite products. I used paypal so I aint trippin.

I finally got a call back from Paypal. They are going to send me a refund from my August claim.
