It's a dream that I have prayed to God for since I was a little girl. If God blesses me with I'm going to do everything within my power to take care of it!
 
It's a personal challenge. I need to know how long I can grow my hair if I take care of it properly. WL is the ideal goal for me to set in my quest for longer healthier hair. Theoretically, if I can grow it to WL, I can grow to to HL and TB if I wanted to. It's all a matter of care:yep:.
 
Pretty soon there will be sooo many ladies on the board with wl hair!! I think that is so amazing.. I cannot wait til that day, oh the convos we will have about our wl hair!!! :yep:
 
Reason #1 To see if I can do it
Reason #2 I have major shrinkage and I am hoping that waist length hair equates to at least shoulder length hair unstretch.

Then WL will become the new BSL and we'll all be saying how common it is and how we have to get to TBL and HL.:lachen:

Now DSylla's(Happily Me, now I think?) hair is AMAZING!! BSL is a JOKE when you see heads like that running around.:yep:
 
My 10 Ten Reasons

1. I have only seen 1 black woman IRL with WL hair.
2. No one believes that I can do it esp. since I'm always wearing weaves. Most people think that I don't have any hair.
3. My hair has never been close to being that long. I'm only 6" away.
4. I think it'll look VERY sexy.
5. I know it'll drive some men crazy. lol
6. I'll finally feel satisified with the length.
7. There are so many styling options with that length.
8. Um...did I already say that it will drive some men crazy to see an AA woman with real WL hair. (I know that I couldn't stop staring when I saw it)
9. I'm excited to see people come up to me asking if it's real or not.
10. It's just a perfect length..not too long or too short.

I want to have long hair WITH shrinkage, I want "indisputably" long hair and most people consider WL to be long, and because BSL is becoming more and more common so I want to be past that.
Plus it just looks great at length (if healthy).

ETA: I also agree with everything Ediese stated in post #66! lol
 
Because That has always been a childhood dream of mine. I have a dream of being one of the rare black women walking around with waist length hair.

This is so true because now we know that we can grow our hair to WL and beyond!!!!

lol umm not to rain on the parade but, if at least 60 women in 72 posts have said they want to achieve WL hair, doesn't that take away from the illusion or elite appeal of WL hair? Personally, I'm satisfied with hair somewhere between BSL/MBL.

Well yes and no I guess. Just because people are saying that they want it doesn't mean they will end up achieving it. Also, even if every single woman on this board had WSL it wouldn't change the fact that most black women don't and won't ever grow their hair that long.

But if by some miracle the majority of black women worldwide began having WL hair, then yes, it would no longer be elite and TBL and HL would be the new lengths that people would want to get to.

Nah. :look: Not all the people who want it, will get it, and that's just being real - there's a whole lotta people around who want to be billionaires, but you don't see that becoming more 'common'.

Heck, I might be one of them who'll never get there. :lachen:

If by some miracle of education black women, as a whole, start rocking WL like it's no big thing, then I'm certain some of us will aspire to longer lengths, just to prove that we can. :lol:
 
I want it just to prove that I can do and because it's rare to see a BW with midback or WL hair that is all her own.

So when someone say it's impossible or can't be done, I want to let my hair down and show, "Yes we can!"

Nope- (not for me at least). Me wanting it has less do to with "because nobody else really has it" and more to do with cuz I like how I'd look with it. And if many women began growing WL, cool- (still won't look as good as mine at WL) :look:

Anyhoot. So yeah, doesn't take away the appeal for me. I kinda look at it like weightloss- many ppl are slender/ at ideal weight, many ppl have goals to lose xyz to be slender- that doesn't mean I don't want to be slender/fit if everyone else is too. I'm not doing it for them.
 
My friend has WSL hair and I think it's awesome. :yep: It would blow my natural hating friends minds! Beyoches!:lachen:

The longest my hair has grown is bra-strap length. My hair is now mid-back and I think it will be sexy to have waist length hair. I'm a bit behind in my schedule cause I had stupid moments and didn't take care of my hair as I did earlier this year. :spinning: I'm now paying for it but oh well. I am now back on track and will reach my goal hopefully within the next 6 months. :gorgeous:

i think it is sexy and lush and given my shrinkage, my hair will finally sit ON/AT my shoulders when curly. It is the perfect length for me, but seems to take forever to reach since I am "tall"ish. I give it a year.
 
My reasons for growing to WSL, are pure vanity. I think it's a sexy length, and will compliment me while belly-dancing. I am happy with my MBL length, but would like a few more inches for maximum "swang".
 
I want to grow my hair to waistlength or butt length because I'm natural and when my hair gets to that length it will be about 50% of that length when shrunken and I plan to wear it mostly shrunken in two strand twists or pixie braids once it gets really long.
 
the waist is where the eyes go. esp when i am doing my thing (working out, which i love to do! gotta get back 2 it...). and being tall, it would look very pretty
 
I'd like wl hair because the look that I'd like to have is long, cascading, jumbo curls. And to get that look, I'd have to be at least wl. And tho I'm hating my layers now, I think long layers will make this look work best. So...I invest this year in achieving my overall goal. But next year, I'm gonna be poppin necks. :lachen:
